Episode 22: Health & Safety and what the New Proposed Legislation Means for your Business

Join Chamber CEO Danicia Quinlan as she explores some of the complexities of what H&S legislation means for your business, and what changes maybe on the horizon for your business, with leading expert in this field.

The WA Parliament has passed the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WHS Act) in November last year - 12 years after the WA Government agreed to introduce harmonised work health and safety (WHS) laws. The WHS Act will not operate until industry-specific regulations are finalised, however it is anticipated the new legislation, and accompanying regulations, will commence by July 2021 which is only a few short months away.

Once in force, the new WHS laws will replace the current Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 (WA) (OSH Act), and those elements of other acts that relate to WHS matters.
