Silvia Barisione is curator at The Wolfsonian–FIU, Miami Beach since 2011. Previously she has been curator and registrar at the Wolfsoniana in Genoa, Italy. Her research focuses primarily on twentieth-century decorative arts and design and prewar Italian architecture. She has curated or co-curated numerous exhibitions and written extensively in the field, contributing to and authoring many publications, among them Luigi Vietti. Architetture 1928–1998, Ville in Riviera tra eclettismo e razionalismo, The Birth of Rome, and Modern Dutch Design. Recently she took part in the Exhibition Advisory Committee of Italian Futurism 1909–1944 at the Guggenheim in New York. She earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in art history and German literature from the University of Genoa. In 2014 she has been named Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) by the Italian government as an expatriate promoting national prestige abroad.

From listening to Olivier Haligon's works, experiences to visiting the most unique and exclusive craftsmenship studio in Miami, this Breakfast Talk Series will begin its season with uniqueness, arts, and beauty.

The HALIGON’s family studios were established around 1875. From generation to generation, the passion of sculpting was inherited. The Haligons have participated in the construction of the Statue of Liberty by Bartholdi in the1880’s for New York City.

From the earliest age, Olivier Haligon was immersed in the world of art and continues to perpetuate the master craftsmanship passed down five generations.

A Master degree of engineering in mathematics further prepared Olivier Haligon to work in his family studio realizing some of the most famous sculptures of our time, from small editions to monumental pieces.

Olivier opened his studio in Miami, FL, in 1998 and has achieved a strong international reputation among the Art world. Since 2010, Caroline Haligon is working alongside her father to perpetuate the long-lasting family tradition and craftsmanship.

Haligon Fine Art Studio has worked with some of the most renowned contemporary artists, architects and designers, such as Carpeaux, Bartholdi, Rodin, Picasso, Giacometti, Miro, J. Dubuffet, Cesar, Botero, Arman, R. Mason, Niki de Saint Phalle, J.P. Raynaud, Herve Di Rosa, R. Barrios, M. Wanders
