Bukalapak is an Indonesian e-commerce company founded in 2010 as an online marketplace to facilitate online commerce for small and medium enterprises. Bukalapak began as an Amazon-like online bazaar that sells physical goods to digital products, such as mobile data, electricity tokens, game vouchers, as well financial services including mutual funds and gold investments. Bukalapak has since expanded to servicing mom-and-pop shops, or warungs, to improve their sales by selling their wares online. The platform, called Mitra Bukalapak, enables warungs to offer virtual products to customers who aren’t connected to the internet.
