Fresh Out the Bay
By Phreezy Naufaldy
To put in short- we're all stuck at home and the world is in shambles, so let's talk about it.

Struggles of Asian Creatives (feat. Lola Menthol)
It's rare for Asians to be portrayed in the media as genuine, regular people without being stereotyped into something that we're not. We're not ALL doctors, or marital artists, or tiger moms, etc. When's the last time you saw an Asian on the big screen that played a central role that wasn't a stereotype?
Asians in America vs. Australia
We're featuring the admin team of the facebook group, Subtle Indonesian Traits to discuss the experience of Asians in America vs. Australia, and how Asian culture/traditions still influence us in our respective countries (or if they even affect us at all)
Part 2: Too White For Asia, Too Asian For America
Have you ever been mistaken for the wrong ethnicity? Would you consider moving back to your "home" country? We brought back our homegirl Indah to do a continuation of last week's episode about the THIRD-CULTURE KID EXPERIENCE.
Too White For Asia, Too Asian For America
We're joined with Indonesian writer (and friend) Indah Gunawan to speak about the experience of growing up as Third-Culture Kids - individuals who are raised in a culture different than their parents.
Finding Motivation in Demotivating Times
It's been 4 months since Shelter-in-Place first hit California. How did you stay motivated during demotivating times in quarantine? Featuring Grace Ling (Design Intern @ EA) and Angela Luong (SFSU)
COVID-19 Update & Woke Culture
As cities throughout the country begin the reopening process after being sheltered-in-place for the past 3 months, we thought it would be a good time to do a follow-up episode of our pilot episode!
We invited episode 1 cast member Tony Li back on the show to catch up with us about how our lives have transpired in the past few months.
Society's Complex Systems of Power (feat. Andrew Chau)
Andrew Chau, Co-Founder of Boba Guys, joins us to talk about the "Ten Power Structures of Society".
#BlackLivesMatter -- The Truth of Protests vs. Riots (feat. Travis Slocum & Jordari Rene)
Join me alongside my closest Black colleagues, Travis Slocum and Jordari Rene, as we discuss the events that have unfolded in these past few days. No more Twitter arguments, no more comment threads, no more false narratives. Let's talk about it.
The Asian Immigrant's Journey to Modern-Day America
To celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month we wanted to talk about the immigrant's journey into modern-day America. Whether you're an immigrant not, everyone's experience as an Asian-American is always unique and deserves to be acknowledged! 😊
Online Dating, Friendships, and Communities (feat. Huddle Zoom)
We’re joined with two UC Berkeley graduates (Jennifer and Steve) who co-founded a community project known as “Huddle Zoom”
In a time where we are all separated in quarantine, Jennifer and Steve observed that many people seem to find solace in various online communities, mainly through Facebook groups. With that in mind, their mission with Huddle Zoom is to connect people from within Facebook groups (such as Asian Creative Network, Subtle Asian Dating, and Subtle Asians - Bae Area) and bringing them together to meet through Zoom calls, making our isolated world feel more connected
From Diapers to Aprons (feat. @makanplaceSF)
Our first-ever featured guests of the show are the founders of Makan Place SF: a local SF food delivery service in which they cook and deliver a homemade Singaporean meal every week!
Born and raised as childhood friends in Singapore, Shanna and Angie are sous chefs of Alexander’s steakhouse, a high-scale restaurant in the SoMa neighborhood of San Francisco. With the COVID-19 outbreak, their hope with Makan Place is to share a piece of home with others in San Francisco. You can find more details and place an order on their instagram, @makanplaceSF
COVID-19 vs. Mental Health
For our pilot episode, we wanted to have a check-in with everyone to see how we have adjusted our life in quarantine, as well as COVID-19's impact on our Mental Health.
