When I'm struggling with my day, I just sit out back or walk around my neighborhood lake and watch them. I even have a bird feeder on my bedroom window to enjoy them during the day. "Today's aligning is all about not taking what other people say or do personally. I know this one can be REALLY challenging. Even having the mother I have who told me time and time again that "It's none of my business what people think of me," I STILL can take what people say and do personally from time to time, especially the people closest to me. Remember, I'm a single mom of two teens. If you know anything about teenagers, you know how challenging this one can be when these young people are preparing to go out into the world and really don't like a parent being there hindering their freedom. In today's aligning we are going to dive deeper into feelings, because they are important to pay attention to. They are a gift, even if the feelings bring floods of tears, they are a gift. I say this after coming off some of the roughest months I've had in YEARS. There is a reason I know I needed to being doing the daily aligning work again, and watching myself in such a dark period is what made me realize I was completely frozen in the energy of fear, lack, and separation. It really does put my heart at peace when I take the time to look up and pay attention. It just really helped me appreciate what I was preparing for this day even more. Today's aligning covers a lot of ground. It includes the importance of feelings and centering ourselves. I've been tryingto figure out when to bring up how we can sometimes get warped definitions around feelings. I may talk about this again in the series, but it's so important, I need to bring it up right now. One of the exercises I have people do is to define love. The reason I do this is because my definition was so warped that I thought I deserved to be in a verbally, emotionally, psychologically, financially, and narcissistically abusive relationship, and that's what love was. Today's aligning is all about trees and nature as a whole. In my updated 2020 post, I mentioned getting an important message from a Banyan Tree. What I didn't say was at the time of the occurrence, I was in a toxic relationship with a narcissist where I felt like an empty shell. I was fully immersed in the energy of fear, lack, and separation. I spent most days crying and praying for signs and guidance. Today's aligning is all about laughter. The day I went back to update today's alignment message, I was preparing to go to a comedy club. I was over the moon after receiving free tickets for my birthday. I looked up and said, "I got the message Universe!" I love when things align like that. I have to watch how serious I can get while doing all this work. Laughter can often be neglected when I get caught up in all my tasks of the day—even when I'm aligning with love, abundance, and peace.
