Episode 9 - Patriarch Frosti Requires Your Attention
What came first? The overhyped fans, or the overhyping developers? This week on Frosty Canucks we have a special treat for you all. We discuss how your host and cohost came to know one another (it's not that special) talk about our New Year resolutions, and discuss who is at fault for overhyping games. We also spend a lot of time talking about Yakuza and spoil the shit out of parts of it so please be mindful of the timestamps if you don't want to be spoiled. There's also a special shout-out to Later Level's Gameblast 2021 fundraising. Please consider throwing them some cash so Kim and Pete can meet their 2021 fundraising goals. As always you know where to find us if you want to tell us off, provide feedback, or ask questions to be featured in future episodes. Episode 8 - Cyberbunk 2077 is not GOTY so here's ours instead!
Cyberpunk may be cyberbunk, but there were a ton of other great games in 2020.   As mentioned on previous episodes, we took to talking about our games of the year. Unfortunately due to time constraints Frostilyte wasn't able to finish his, so consider what's here a preview of the full list which will be available shortly into January.   Still, we talk about a handful of great games as well as why we enjoyed playing them so much.  Timestamps and spoiler warnings below. Let us know on any of our social channels if you have a question you'd like us to tackle on a future episode. Episode 7 - Attack on Nintendo: Cease and Desist
God damn it, Nintendo.   This week on Frosty Canucks we spend some time looking at Nintendo going full nuclear for a week and Cyberpunk 2077's bullshit launch. Along the way we also take time to answer two viewer questions, one pertaining to the viability of a music game renaissance and the other on the impact of power creep.   We also spend an extraordinarily long time talking about Nexomon: Extinction now that Frosti has finished playing it.   Show notes to follow:   0:00:00 - Nintendo Shenanigans  0:19:29 - Will Rock Band and Guitar Hero come back?  0:30:55 - Cyberpunk 2077 High Jinks  0:43:08 - Power Creeping   Games we've been playing  0:56:31 - Nexomon: Extinction  1:08:55 - Doom Eternal  1:11:54 - Nexomon: Extinction Again  1:14:46 - Luigi's Mansion 3  1:15:52 - Yakuza: Like A Dragon  1:19:52 - Flipping Death (Spoiler)   1:25:00 - Outro

Episode 6 - The World Ends with the Game Awards
The world is ending! Not really, but after we talked about the World Ends With You a sequel was announced. Isn't that weird? And just ahead of Geoff Keighley's annual awards show we took a stab at guessing who we think the winners will be. We're inevitably going to be super wrong, but guessing while discussing the greater strokes of 2020 was a bit of a laugh. Also, we take a brief detour into what we've been playing (spoilers it's more Pokémon and Pokémon adjacent games). Episode 5 - We love Sonic Butt-Rock! (and other songs for your consideration)
Or at least Frosti does.  This week on the Frosty Canucks we usher in the new generation and then spend a long time talking about how video game music impacts the play experience as well as our favourite soundtracks. We also spend an unnecessarily long time dismantling what we both consider to be the worst generation of Pokémon.  Watch-out for the spoilers we've marked below! Episode 4 - Looking Back, Looking Forward, and Pokémon
Delays, Delays, Delays. Well...rather one delay. This week on the Frosty Canucks we chat about yet another Cyberpunk 2077 delay, the October Nintendo Direct, Pokémon, and Jason's ill-fated attempt to pre-order the PS5. Alongside that we had our first two viewer questions and ended up spending a fair amount of time discussing the future of Loot Boxes following the EU's increasing scrutiny of the maligned monetization method and what we think the closing console generation will be remembered for. Also, Frosti has a Pokémon meltdown. This week on Frosty Canucks Jason takes us through the new hotness Genshin Impact and we talk about the broader strokes of the free to play business model. In addition, we spend some time debunking the infamous industry analyst Michael Pachter's latest predictions. Plus, as per normal, there is a brief detour into what we've been playing. Episode 2 - Xbox Series One XXL and the Great Bethesda Buyout
You remember how the Wii U confused some people? Well Microsoft didn't.  This week we sit down to discuss Microsoft's recent acquisition of Zenimax (most importantly Bethesda) and Yakuza as Jason is eagerly anticipating the release of Yakuza 7. We also talk about the games we've been playing including Modern Warfare 2, Final Fantasy X, Hades, and Borderlands 3.   Plus we have a brief jab at Microsoft for the name of their next generation consoles.   Timestamps   The Xbox has a naming problem - 0:00  Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda - 5:44  Discussion about Yakuza 7 - 33:37  Games we've played - 1:00:22   Games We've Been Playing  Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered 1:00:22  Final Fantasy X 1:02:05  Hades 1:05:54  Borderlands 3 1:18:32   Outro 1:33:35
