Biology- prof. dr. Anton Scheurink
Welcome to our podcast where we delve into the fascinating world of neuro-endocrinology with Professor Anton Scheurink, a well-known lecturer at the FSE. Despite initially aspiring to become a physician, fate led him to study biology when he didn't make it through the old lottery system for medical school. Undeterred by setbacks, he pursued his passion for understanding the human body, eventually discovering his love for research, particularly in the complex workings of the brain and hormones.
Throughout his journey, Professor Scheurink learned a lot about he brain's mechanisms and functions by conducting animal experiments to explore what cannot be observed in humans. Join us as we unravel the mysteries of the brain, exploring Professor Scheurink's inspiration, his journey through his PhD, and the never-ending quest to understand one of the most complex organs in the human body.
Tune in to our podcast and embark on a captivating journey into the depths of the brain, a field that continues to expand. As Professor Scheurink explained an old rule: "If our brains were simple enough for us to understand them, we'd be so simple that we couldn't."
