Leaders make mistakes. When you close your eyes, your heart, to compassion toward others, it will lead to "vomit." Vomit is foul-tasting and foul-smelling. The result will be people who question your service as a leader who is dedicated to God's agenda of healing the wounded. This episode speaks of Jonah, a preacher, who wanted compassion for himself but could not understand why God, who is slow to anger, slowed mercy toward that nation - the people of Nineveh. In other words, "Slow me mercy, God; but not them."

Barnabas - I need one! Today, I stand with you as a Barnabas. Who was he? What was he about? For everything, there is a season.  Fasting is about giving up something of personal value, especially time.  We tend to want more time to service our own needs.  Intrusion, to us, is invasive.  We like to determine what to do with our time.  We cannot add nor subtract the hours and minutes of the day. Time is a gift from God, and He wants some of that time for seasoning us.  Time is different than a season.  In seasons, you expect a harvest time.  It contains a process of development.  It would help if you planted in the right season to produce the desired fruit.  To grow in your season, you must gather the tools for ripening the harvest.  Fasting is one of the tools for ripening the crop.

This episode is for those who need to be encouraged on this life journey.  You are human.  Sometimes, it seems as if the billows are crashing into you; the sky is overcast, and the sun refuses to light your way.  It is only temporary.  The words in this episode were written around 1839 by Frank Huston.  The song is a reminder that God answers the prayers of His children.  To be in alignment with what God wants for you is a beautiful thing.  Amid the shadows, He is there.  You are not alone.

This episode is a reminder of how my mother-in-law stood in the gap for me at a time when I could not stand for myself. Everyone needs an "Esther" experience in hard times and an intercessor "to boot."  My beautiful mother-in-law left me a legacy that I cherish today.  Her view of Esther continues to inspire me.  "Is there an Esther in you?" she asked.  Forty years later, her view of Esther has made a difference in my life, and I have shared it with others.  I pulled from her strength at a time that I needed it most and God gave me an intercessor - a woman of strength in hard times.  Everyone needs an "Esther" experience in hard times. 

It sounds weird that I call this place "These."  In the last few years, it seems like I have traveled there more and more.  No transportation costs are required. I am a "Frequent Flyer."

A time of preparation, repentance, reflection, reset, and refreshing

Healing hurts.  Healing that calls for forgiveness are beyond our capacity.  We need God to do this for us.  How do you know when you are healed?  Listen to the HEART of the matter.

This is not only my testimony but so many.  When you come to a place where God's presence is an everyday need in your life, it is because He is your all.  This personal relationship brings joy that is difficult to express.  It is especially so in times of trouble and distress.  He is your help and strength.  He is your all.

How many times did people count you out?  How many times have people seen only the worst in you?  Renew your mind.  Think about those things above of how God sees you.

People seem to have two things: an appetite and an opinion (perspective).  That is an old saying of my grandmother about people in general. She had a viewpoint, a philosophy, and an outlook on people that hold.  What is your perspective about life?  Does it affect your actions?
