3 peas in a podcast
Journalism students Jackson Ruth, Cameron James and Sam Tucker discuss philosophical questions with an independent moderator.
NFL RECAP WEEK 9
This podcast was produced by students Ethan Kramer and Reid Lanter. I find their analysis very good and reminiscent of some previous students I had several years back who continued doing their own thing after graduating. Their pod is called TAILGATES and HEARTBREAKS and it lived for a long time while the Bengals struggled.

Elder English teacher and legend, Mr. John Ploehs (class of '68), visited me in the ENN PODCASTING STUDIO to recount the story of his mother's sudden passing when he was only 15. It's such a great story that I am including it here in three consecutive 100 second podcasts. Please be sure to listen to them in one sitting (still less than six mintues!)

EPISODE 33 - 100 SECONDS with NICK ROTH
As mentioned previously, Nick Roth is an Elder alumnus who stays involved with the school in several ways. He reached out to me earlier this year and asked if he could help produce a few segments for this podcast series. Well, of course! With his help we have re-ignited the match to get more of these done this spring. Anyone out there who knows someone with an Elder story can als contribute - I would love to hear from you.
EPISODE 32 - 100 SECOND with Dick DiMuzio
This episode comes to us due to the hard work of Nick Roth, who has listened to previous podcasts from this series and reached out to me to help produce a few on his own. Nick interviewed Dick over ZOOM and recorded the conversation, edited it down to just around 100 seconds and shared it with me. You can ask him just how hard or easy it was. I am just happy that his interest has jolted me into continuing my pursuit of trying to complete 100 episodes before the end of the school year. Thanks, Nick.

EPISODE 27 - 100 MORE SECONDS with MARK KLUSMAN '61
Mr. Klusman returns with John Keehan (from 2017) to discuss his eight classmates who were faculty members at the same time. Why he likes teaching computers (it forces him to keep learning) and the story behind his iconic long hair (they told him he couldn't do it). This great man of Elder was larger than life and had to be featured in more than just one episode!
EPISODE 26 - 100 SECONDS with MARK KLUSMAN
Mr. Mark Klusman was the epitome of the Elder Man and it's about time he is included here. I luckily found this treasured recording made by one of my former students, John Keehan, back in the fall of 2017 just months before Mr. Klusman was tragically taken from us. His soft but learned and thoughtful voice is evident in just this first 100 seconds of an interview of over 10 minutes! There are sure to be more included in this 100. If you want to learn more or recall more about this incredible personality in the history of Elder, then check out this article from our online Purple Quill which features this sound file, a WLW Podcast and the slide show that was show at Mark's visitation.

Luke Busam '00 is the current Elder Alumni Board President and he was one of the featured speakers at the Rally at Washington Park back on October 21. Sorry about the wind and background noise, but Luke has a great message that is worth 100 seconds of your time.
EPISODE 23 - 100 SECONDS with TOM OTTEN '64
It's about time we got to this legend of Elder High School, former principal Tom Otten, from the class of '64. Tom was among the featured speakers at Elder's 100 Year Anniversary Rally at Washington Park on October 21, 2022. You can even hear the streetcar in the background!

Dr. Mark Rudemiller '72 is a strong spiritual and physical supporter of Elder High School. He spoke recently at the Rally at Washington Park and was given the Altiora Award at the school's 53rd Annual Honors Banquet on October 27 at the Woodlands. This is just 100 seconds of his thoughtful comments to all in attendance.
EPISODE 21 - 100 SECONDS with THOMAS GIACCIO '74
This episode is yet another unique occurrence in the sequence of putting together this series. Luke Hafner '24, is currently a Journalism/Broadcasting student and completed a podcast just a few weeks ago (an interview with his uncle). Luke, like so many of his Elder classmates, volunteers as a Student Ambassador and gives tours during the school's OPEN HOUSES. Luke led a tour with a 1974 grad, Thomas Giaccio, recently and Mr. Giaccio reconnected with Luke and was kind enough to accept his invitation to speak about his alma mater. If you know someone who you think would be a good interview subject for our 100 Years Podcast please reach out to a student or to me, Mr. Gary Rogers @ rogersgg@elderhs.net. Thank you.
(Sorry Tom, but when I was investigating the spelling of your name, I found your senior picture in the '74 yearbook and had to include it here)
