The Holden Brisbane

We kick off this episode with Matt talking about Ford advertising the Mach 1 Mustang here in Australia.

Mitch then talks about the International Olympic Committee including simracing in a digital Olympics via what is essentially GranTurismo Academy. Mitch then talks about the 300-Series' styling that was recently leaked online, which may be just for the Middle Eastern market; Australia, Japan, and other markets expected to get a different front end.

Joseph then has another Public Service Announcement regarding our listeners who may be Dacia and Renault buyers, and then gets us talking about the new Ferrari 812 VS "Versione Speciale", that features a naturally-aspirated 9,500rpm V12 that pushes 610kw.

Mitch then talks about the new GWM (Great Wall Motors) 2021 Baja Snake: Shelby dual-cab ute, that has NOTHING to do with Shelby, despite sharing the Shelby trade-marked stripe and name. Then Mitch talks about Honda going all electric by 2040, and Brabham will be bringing manufacturing to Australia with a new supercar.... Allegedly, and a Subaru 22B selling for over $400,000 AUD on Bring-A-Trailer in the US.

Joseph then talks about the Valencia Formula E race becoming a joke, as more than half the field ran out of battery juice due to the race having 5 safety cars.

Mitch then talks about Porsche investing into a firm that produces synthetic fuels for their Motorsport pursuits, and alternative fuels.

Joseph then talks about the latest Targa Tasmania having 3 deaths in one weekend.

We then end on the game.

Don't Let Your Dreams Be Memes

We are back! Happy 2021! We're sorry this episode is later than we had hoped, Corona decided to do an Empire and it striked back and buggered our plans to get back into your ear-holes last week. Anyways, we're back now.

We had to re-record this week as GarageBand decided to F us and corrupt our first attempt at this episode, but we persevered.

Matt then kicks off the news with a Finnish tyre company wanting to sell 'Lifelong tyres', and the new Ford Ranger has been spied in camo and it looks "very F150-y" and it'll be a shared platform with the next Volkswagen Amarok.

Joseph then talks about Toyota's new GR010 LMP1 race-car, and Nissan pretty much gearing up to release the 400Z which will, allegedly, look exactly like the 400Z Prototype.

Mitch then talks about Ken Block and Ford getting a divorce and seeing other people; ie, they've parted ways. Ken might potentially go back to Subaru. Then Mitch talks about the new Singer ACS Safari/Rally 911; a two-off commission by a rich bloke.

Joseph then talks about BMW shitting the bed with the new M2 CS promotional video, which features the audio-track of an Audi V10 super-imposed over the video... Basically, BMW is having an identity crisis at the moment.

Joseph then talks about GM's crap new logo that is just pure crap.

Mitch then goes on a rant about how he got banned from commenting on Ozzy Tyres' Facebook page, then Joseph and Mitch then talk about getting OBD2 readers for their cars, and we talk about Mitch's new Android head unit and GME UHF.

Then Joseph talks about his OS Giken 1.5 LSD Diff that's being installed very soon, and Joel talks about his recent issues with his 300ZX.

Matt then talks about BMW's Golf GTI competitor; the 128 Ti, then we go onto talking about barn find money making hacks.

Matt then starts us off on a game; which is a different twist on an old classic.

We're back for episode 167! This week we actually have some car news to talk about, which is a nice change of pace given the year that 2020's been.

Mitch then starts the news part of the pod with Nissan dropping photos of the 'Z Proto', and that Volkswagen is close to selling Bugatti to Croatian company Rimac in exchange for a bigger share of the company.

Matt then has news about a new special edition to the Ford Ranger, which comes with a 1" lift from factory as 32" tyres.

We then discuss at length the announcement from Toyota Australia the pricing for the GR Yaris, which is more expensive than we were all hoping ti would be, and Matt talks about the Foton F-Truck copy which we all really like, and Ford Australia confirming the Bronco will not be coming to Australia in any official capacity (we think maybe PerforMax might import and convert to RHD).

Matt then talks about Mitsubishi introducing a 10 year / 200,00Km warranty, which gets us talking about how awful 'official' service centres, and General Motors bringing the C8 Corvette to Australia by the end of the year under the 'General Motors Special Vehicles' brand (GMSV) and holy-balls it's not cheap.

We then play a guess the car game with Matt, and Mitch talks about the progress on the #Shitegra, and Matt talks about his LandCruiser giving him a heart attack while driving home from a wedding.

We are back for episode 163! Matt's back this week, he survived his ACL/knee surgery, which is good. To kick things off, we mix things up, we actually talk about a beer that's different to the (fantastic) Great Northern; Byron Bay Brewery.

Joseph kicks off the news with news about the 2021 Toyota Yaris range increasing in price leaving the sub-$20k (before on roads) price bracket well and truly behind; maxing out at just over $33,500.

Joseph then talks about the Dodge Ram TRX which has the Hellcat engine, which gets us onto talking about our mate Michael looking at getting a 4 wheel drive, which is proving to be difficult due to all 4 wheel drives appreciating in value due to Covid.

Joseph then rounds out the news with Bridgestone bringing out a new super soft 'cheater' track-day tyre; the RE71RS, and General Motors trying to weasel their way back into the Australian market under the 'General Motors Special Vehicles' name; and people aren't pleased.

How Dare You Sir

We're back for episode 159! This week, we manage to find some news to talk about despite it being a pretty slow news week.

Mitch kicks off the news with Porsche developing 3D-printed pistons for the GT2RS which allow the engine to produce 22kw more power, while being lighter, stronger, and more resistant to heat, AND increase the redline of the engine; all good stuff, from there Joseph talks about the Michelin Cup 2 tyres that were developed for the GT2RS and how incredible they are for a 'street tyre'.

Mitch then talks about the Cosworth-developed engine specs of Gordon Murray's T.50 Supercar, which redlines to 12,100RPM, and that the new Nissan 400Z should be in showrooms next year.

Joseph then has news about Mercedes recalling the G-Wagen 63 over a 'misleading' child lock symbol, of all things.

Joel talks about a recent drive with 2 of his other mates, one of whom had an old XJS V12 Jaguar which (predictably) broke down.

Matt then plays a game with us to guess a car, which then turns into a bit of news, before talking about Segway producing an electric dirt bike.

Mitch then talks about his first time learning to weld, and then we talk about the Porsche Taycan.

Joseph then talks about the absolute battle he had to remove the transmission fill-plug on his 86, and how his tyres were losing pressure with a simple fix.

Then Mitch and Joel talk about the progress made on their project cars.

We are back for episode 157! This week we talk a bit of news, Joel and Mitch of what have we done to our cars this week, and Matt and Mitch talk about some simracing stuff.

Mitch then kicks off news about Hyundai India producing a manual gearbox WITHOUT a clutch, we then go on to talking about how some cars have great clutch feel, and others have basically no feel at all.

Joseph then talks about a factory-fresh EK Civic Si Coupe selling for $50,000 USD in the States, which is unbelievable for an econo-box to now be a collector's car.

Matt then talks about how he thinks that Toyota Australia is potentially struggling to sell the new A90 Supra, offering 1.8% finance.

Matt then transitions onto how he and Mitch have been getting more serious about SimRacing (Assetto Corsa on PC).

Mitch then talks about what he's done to the Integra #Shitegra recently, some of it is bad news, most of it is good news.

Joel then talks about the progress he's made on his Suzuki Swift.

We then talk about Joseph getting a flat at a Bunnings, resulting in him getting the tyre plugged; which leads into a semi-argument about whether or not he will be right to race the next day out at Ipswich / Queensland Raceway.

Matt then talks about why his LandCruiser isn't yet turbocharged.

Not Italian Enough

We are back with episode 155! This week, it's the usual three, and Joel (AKA Rent-A-Crowd, AKA The Short One) has also joined us.

Joseph kicks off the news with state governments in Australia going through already-issued personalised plates, and cancelling plates that encourage speeding and otherwise violent or anti-social driving behavior.

Joseph then continues on with news that Ford's new Ranger Raptor will be getting a twin-turbo V6 petrol producing 300kw and 560nm, as well as news about the V8 SuperCars actually being back to actual racing, from which we then debate the best SuperCar drivers of all time, and Hugh Jackman might be playing Enzo Ferrari in a biopic.

Then Joseph tells us his experience driving The Short One's 300ZX (Z32), which transitions into us talking about cost-cutting measures car makers have decided to make when developing cars.

Matt then talks about his 4 wheeling trip in the hills of Ormeau, and his encounter with a new Jimny owner who was told by the lift-kit installer that she doesn't need to drop her tyre pressures, we then talk about tyre pressures in general.

Mitch then talks about getting an air conditioning tube delete-y thing for the Shitegra following him deleting the air conditioning out of the Shitegra to maintain roadworthiness.

So Soft It Makes it Hard

We're back, sorry for missing a week; Mitch and Matt went camping, and Mitch got crook, anyway, we're back now!

We crack straight in with Mitch talking about how he fixed his Hilux's overheating issues.

Matt then talks about what he's doing to his Landcruiser, also to do with overheating, and Joseph greased the rear slider pins on his brakes, and Matt caves and says he's turboing the LandCrusier; from which he goes on to talk about the science of turbocharging a diesel engine.

Matt and Mitch then talk about their camping trip at Kinkuna (just south of Bundaberg, Qld).

Joseph then breaks into a bit of news with Mercedes bringing their electric-hybrid turbocharger technology from Formula 1 to their consumer vehicles.

Matt then talks about someone doing a retro-render of the original Volvo 240 in the style of Volvo's current design language, before talking about the Mazda refreshing the BT-50 ute; going from a Ford Ranger 5-banger to an Isuzu DMAX (and Holden Colorado) 4-banger, as well as a styling refresh.

Joseph then talks about the Jeep Gladiator's pricing and model specs being officially announced for the Australian market.

Mitch then talks about some of the cars that are yet to sell 25 units this year, and the Mighty Car Mods (TV2) video of Moog taking his BRZ on track, and how much we enjoyed watching him finally enjoy his BRZ.
