Toy Story 4 : #FNEmoviemonth (14 of 30)
Finally! Finally, I've seen this movie. I can't believe it took me this long. I saw parts 2 and 3 in the theater, but missed out on this entry in the series. I then planned on saving it for a movie month, and don't even remember if I could have watched it last year - but here we are! Again, finally. To infinity....and....you know the rest!

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang : #FNEmoviemonth (13 of 30)
Today I finally ventured to a place I thought I'd never go to see a Movie Month entry - Tubi! But after listening to a podcast (After Lunch podcast) mention this movie recently (aka yesterday) I realized, I'd never seen this movie! And it's that what true meaning of Movie Month is, kids? Robert Downey Jr., Val Kilmer, AND Shane Black? How could I not enjoy this 2005 take on the classic film noir genre...

SILVER SCREEN SUPERMAN: “Superman III” (1983)
Happy Superman Day! Today I celebrated the Man of Steel by watching – Superman III? On purpose? Well, you can imagine what I thought about this movie. On second thought, don’t imagine, listen and find out for sure!

Army of the Dead : #FNEmoviemonth (12 of 30)
So I watch this movie and enjoy it enough for what it is - but then forget to mention the "funniest" kill of the movie (think elevator) and I find out after the fact that there is an animated prequel coming to Netflix starring much of the same cast. I guess Netflix is in the Zack Snyder business!

Psycho Goreman : #FNEmoviemonth (11 of 30)
If you've never heard of this movie, that's okay - now you have. Watch it. Now. I'll wait. Okay, welcome back. What did you think? Me too. Bonkers. Silly. Weird. Dumb. All of the above. And so, so, so much fun.

The Gentlemen : #FNEmoviemonth (10 of 30)
This movie made me want to put on a track suit and get a much cooler accent. So much fun, and I am glad I finally watched it.

The New Mutants : #FNEmoviemonth (9 of 30)
Today, I rip the band-aid off of the X-Men franchise hopefully for the last time. The last couple X-Men moves have been pretty bad and it seems like the original franchise is going out with a whimper. Hopefully Disney will rescue (some of) these characters.

Doctor Sleep : #FNEmoviemonth (8 of 30)
I called an audible today. I fully went into today planning on doing a different movie, but when I went to the HBO Max site and saw this highlighted, I realized I've never seen it and I totally wanted to. So I did. And spoiler alert: I loved it. But still listen so you can at least hear my voice. My sweet, sweet voice.

Palm Springs : #FNEmoviemonth (7 of 30)
What is it with me and all these time related movies this month? Ain’t nobody got time for that! Is that still a thing? I kinda feel like that’s not a thing anymore. Oh, and I really dug today’s movie. Big Andy Samberg fan, and a fun as hell movie. Hulu’s website still stinks though.

Another Round : #FNEmoviemonth (6 of 30)
I'm not much of a drinker - but parts of this movie makes me wish I drank more. Other parts make me happy that I don't. All in all, there's movie won the Oscar for Best International Film. I have one simple rule with foreign language films - no English dubbing. Read like an adult.

Freaky : #FNEmoviemonth (5 of 30)
I like these Christopher Landon movies because they take an established concept and just add a little twist – and a lot of gore. Good family fun!

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It : #FNEmoviemonth (4 of 30)
The Warrens are back! I realized today that I really enjoy watching Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson play these characters, and hope this isn't the end. I think this might be the first "same day" movies where it was also released in theaters. Sure, I am looking forward to going back to the movies - but if I can choose couch over theater - couch win every times.

Godzilla vs. Kong : #FNEmoviemonth (3 of 30)
Finally I saw the giant lizard fight the giant gorilla. Did I like this as much as the last Godzilla movie? Well, you're going to have to listen if you want to find out. C'mon, you've come this far. Hit play. Do it. I dare you.

Tenet : #FNEmoviemonth (2 of 30)
I have to admit - this movie blew my mind. It could be related to lack of sleep, and I am pretty sure I understood a good 54% of what I was seeing - but what I did comprehend, I enjoyed the hell out of.

Bill & Ted Face the Music : #FNEmoviemonth (1 of 30)
The time has come. It's June again and here I am back for year 8 of Movie Month! Ready to watch 30 more movies (Movies 211-240) in 30 days - and talk about it to all of you cool kids. Let the good times roll with my first pick of the month - the 2020 "Bill and Ted Face The Music" - one of the many movies that totally got screwed by that pesky pandemic. But at least I finally watched it. Listen now to hear what I thought...

SILVER SCREEN SUPERMAN: “Superman II” (1980)
For the first time in a long time I sat down and watched the 1980 Richard Lester (sorta Donner) film, "Superman II." And let me tell you as great as Christopher Reeve is, this movie just was not as good as I used to think it was.

SILVER SCREEN SUPERMAN: “Superman: The Movie” (1978)
It's been too many years since I've last watched "Superman: The Movie" - probably the first memory I have of anything having to do with Superman. It's between that and Super Friends, but for the sake of this podcast - let's go with the movie. I had a ton of fun revisiting this movie on HBO Max, and I think this needs to be a yearly tradition movie - maybe at like Thanksgiving? I dunno, none of that comes up in the podcast. Or does it? Only one way to find out...

SILVER SCREEN SUPERMAN: "Superman and the Mole-Men" (1951)
Back in the saddle again, baybay! I told you I'd start watching all the Superman feature films to grace the big screen - it just took me a bit longer to get there. Today I finally rewatched the first time any DC Superhero was in the theater in a feature length movie (apparently 58 minutes counts) when I saw the kinda silly, kinda boring, "Superman and the Mole-Men" starring George Reeves for the first time as the Man of Steel.

MARCHY McFLY: "Roads? Where We're Going, We Don't Need Roads..." (31 of 31)
31 days of watching and podcast about Back to the Future is now complete. Marchy McFly is officially over.....for now. Tonight I try, while out for a walk, to give you scene by scene retelling of this time traveling tale. I know I don't get it all right, but I think I come pretty close. Thanks for sticking with the show all month, I really appreciate it. This one is for my father-in-law. My George.

MARCHY McFLY: "Like I Always Told You. If You Put Your Mind To It, You Can Accomplish Anything" (30 of 31)
Greetings from another day in sunny Florida. It's day 30. The final day before the final day! Guess what I did this morning? I woke up early and...wait for it...watched Back to the Future for the 30th time in 30 days! I recorded today's show from The Garden of Hope and Courage outside the hospital taking care of my father-in-law. They were only allowing two people in so I had some time to kill. Later on in the day, after visiting with him, I went into two stores and saw a total of three pricks without masks on. I want to fight the state of Florida. Oh and I talk about Back to the Future a bit (and even added a new thought!) Until tomorrow! Until our final day together!

MARCHY McFLY: "GREAT SCOTT!" (29 of 31)
Day 29! Coming to you from Florida, where old men walk out of Dunkin Donuts without masks and little tiny flames of fire burn in my eyes! But we landed safely yesterday and got to see my wife's dad before visiting hours ended. Went back and spent some time today (and brought him a Frosty from Wendy's). But of course in the morning - while just awaking from my slumber, sleep still in my stunning eyes - I watched Back to the Future for the 29th time! And tonight, under the cover of darkness, I roamed the untamed streets of Naples and talked about a few things - including this amazing movie that I will NEVER get tired of! Ever! Until tomorrow, my sweeties....

MARCHY McFLY: “I’m Afraid You’re Just Too Darn Loud…” (26 of 31)
Day 26! The final Friday of Marchy McFly! I had some plans for tonight’s episode that had to be scrapped due to lack of time (how dare real life get in the way of a podcast) but hopefully I can talk about it soon. I did get a voicemail from some anonymous listener who sounds vaguely familiar – and no it’s not me this time I swear!

MARCHY McFLY: "Erased From Existence!" (25 of 31)
Are you telling me that it's day 25!? Damn, I only 6 more days left! And tonight I thought it would be fun to look at those scenes that were left on the cutting room floor - the Back to the Future deleted scenes! I also mention the podcast "I Read Movies" that talks about the differences between the movies you love and the novelizations that were created from them. Check out the Back to the Future episode!

MARCHY McFLY: "Goodnight, Future Boy!" (24 of 31)
Day 24! Can you believe it? Right? Me neither! On today's episode I talk about - you guessed it - Frank Stallone! Wait, I mean BACK TO THE FUTURE! And by happy accident I stumbled upon a 2015 Fandango article that you should definitely check out. After today, only one week left. Great Scott!!

Day 23! We're almost on the final week of Marchy McFly! Tonight I am joined by my friend Jason - a man I've been friends with for almost 27 years! The man I've played the most Sega Genesis Mortal Kombat with! A groomsman at my wedding! And my wife's wedding too! And a huge fan of Back to the Future!

MARCHY McFLY: "Please Excuse The Crudity Of This Model. I Didn't Have Time To Build It To Scale Or Paint It." (21 of 31)
Can you believe that after today there are only 10 days left in Marchy McFly!? It really does feel like I just started this project and now we're 2/3 of the way done! Today, I go over a few notes, read through a cool article from Curbed about filming locations, and sing in my back yard. Back to the Future FOREVER!

MARCHY McFLY: "Mayor Goldie Wilson! I Like The Sound of That!" (19 of 31)
Today, on this 19th day of Marchy McFly, I received a very special message from a very special mayor of Hill Valley all thanks to my good (and generous) friend and frequent guest of the show, Eric! And just like that I blame everything on Mayor Red Thomas! BIG SCREEN BATMAN: "Zack Snyder's Justice League" (2021)
We did it! We reached the "end" (for now) of Big Screen Batman, where today I watched the FOUR HOUR epic retelling of Justice League in 2021's "Zack Snyder's Justice League" on HBO Max. Spoiler Alert: I enjoyed myself for four hours today. And then for another 50 minutes talking about it!

MARCHY McFLY: "No McFly Ever Amounted To Anything In The History of Hill Valley!" (18 of 31)
Day Eighteen! This second half already feels like it's going by faster than the first half. Before you know it, we'll be in the 20s and on the final stretch! Today I thought it would be fun to scan the IMDB trivia of the movie, but the page is SO long that I stopped and saved the rest for future episodes. Only 13 to go! Where does the time go?

MARCHY McFLY: "Hey, I'm Talking To You, McFly, You Irish Bug!" (17 of 31)
Happy St. Patrick's Day you Irish Bugs! Tonight I am joined by my long time friend Eric, who I've known since high school and who actually lives a stone's throw away from me today! We...sorta talk about Back to the Future. And there's a wig involved. Perfect for an audio podcast! Whatever - this still counts! SEVENTEEN DAYS DONE!

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: "Joker" (2019)
So many Jokers, so little time. Today I watched the LAST movie to (sorta) feature Batman on the big screen when I watched 2019's JOKER for the first time since seeing in the theater. Technically there are no more Batman movies to watch....Until tomorrow. Oh crap, that's not on the big screen. Oh well, I make the rules.

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" (2019)
Everything is still pretty awesome with The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, even if it's essentially more of the same. More of the same of a great thing can still be very good. A lot of fun, still great to look at it. And of course - LEGO BATMAN was there!

MARCHY McFLY: “This Has Gotta Be a Dream!” (15 of 31)
Beware the Ides of Marchy McFly! We're just about at the half way point of our adventure and today I talk more about a show than our favorite movie. Today, a brand new streaming mini-series premiered on Discovery+ called "Expedition: Back To the Future." Spoiler alert: I loved it. I only watched the first episode, but it was a must see for any BTTF superfan!

MARCHY McFLY: "Next Saturday Night We're Sending You Back To The Future!" (13 of 31)
He said it! He said the movie title! It IS in fact Saturday Night and once again I watched that Back to the Future movie. 13 days down 18 days to go. If you think I'm stretching now, wait until a week from now! In this episode I talk about an idea I had years ago that I hadn't planned on talking about until that very moment. I also go through more notes and talk about two cool create things I found - you can check both of them out directly: 4 Times Back to the Future: Welcome to Hill Valley Hill Valley Digital recreation by erenbudak

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: "Justice League" (2017)
We're less than a week away from what I am calling the REAL version of this movie that I watched again last night for the first time since seeing it in the theater. Even though there were still some things I enjoyed about it, I hope in the future, the 2017 Justice League will be forgotten for the epic adventure Zack Snyder is promising to bring us on next Thursday! And I'll be back here talking about it - again for the first time!

MARCHY McFLY: “What Are You Looking at Butthead?” (12 of 31)
It's Friday Night! And of course that means I am home podcasting - something I also did before this pandemic thing, and probably something I'll do long after it's safe to see the friends I've been avoiding. Oh and I watched Back to the Future for the 12th time in 12 days. Guinness Book, did I break any records yet? Maybe I will in 19 days?

MARCHY McFLY: "I'm George. George McFly. I'm Your Density. I Mean...Your Destiny" (11 of 31)
In this episode of Marchy McFly, I thought I'd talk about a little about the man behind the man who is the father of the world's second time traveler. Today's episode is dedicated to Crispin Glover.

MARCHY McFLY: "Welcome to Hill Valley - A Nice Place To Live" (10 of 31)
We've hit double digits! I remember when I turned 10 getting in a car and telling my grandmother that I've hit double digits and thinking that was a big deal. 34 years later and I am starting to wonder if I have it in me to hit triple digits. If I do, you can bet I'll be in some sort of futuristic space nursing home and I'll be watching "Back to the Future" on whatever people are watching classic movies on in the year 2076. To be fair though, I'll probably be long dead by then. Happy Wednesday!

MARCHY McFLY: "Whoa, ho, ho. Look at it roll. Now we can watch Jackie Gleason while we eat!" (9 of 31)
It's Day 9 of Marchy McFly and today...Well today I just go through some notes I had written down and fantasized about Lorraine doing a little more than just drinking and smoking outside the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance. Also check out the Buzzn The Tower podcast. Was talking with one of the guys through Instagram and am definitely going to check their show out!

MARCHY McFLY: “I've Never Seen Purple Underwear Before, Calvin” (8 of 31)
Happy Monday! For this 8th day of Marchy McFly I took even MORE notes and talk about them. It is fun watching a movie and not worried about the plot or even what the characters are doing - gives you space to look around at interesting things in the background....See you again tomorrow!

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “The Lego Batman Movie” (2017)
You didn't think I forgot about all the Batman movies, did you? I told you March was going to be jam packed with podcasts! Tonight I just wanted (for the second time) from 2017, "The Lego Batman Movie," and I think I liked it even more this time around. So much fun.

Happy Sunday everybody! We've hit the end of the first week in our month long celebration of "Back to the Future" and today I thought it would be fun to read through an article about Back to the Future and talk about it. MARCHY McFLY: "It's Already Mutated Into Human Form!" (5 of 31)
Mike's contract specifically states that he needs to watch Back to the Future every day in March and talk about it every day in March. He may try to tell you that management is against him - but we at Fans Not Experts value our hosts and stand by our treatment of them. He wanted an announcer? Fine, he gets one. Hopefully now Mr. Podcaster will be happy. Oh, and enjoy the show.

MARCHY McFLY: “If You're Gonna Build A Time Machine Into A Car, Why Not Do It With Some Style?” (4 of 31)
Tis the fourth day of March, which makes it the fourth time I've watched "Back to the Future" this month and the fourth time I've podcasted about "Back to the Future" this month. And on this day, I took the podcast out from behind my desk (aka the kitchen table) and took out out to the streets of New England (aka on a dog walk). And then I found some audio of an outdoor event I thought you might want to hear. Yes. Found it. Because it's real. See you in the future!

In this second episode of Marchy McFly, I talk about a few things I've noticed - now that I am looking for things! And also I touch on another way this movie has been part of my personal life. So why don't you make like a tree - and listen!

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “Suicide Squad” (2016)
Another "Big Screen Batman" and another movie I've already done in Movie Month. This is not a "Batman Movie" in the truest sense of the word, but it is a movie with Batman - and the predecessor to Justice League - so of course I was going to do another podcast on 2016's "Suicide Squad!"
25:41
February 13, 2021
BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” (2016)
A movie featuring MY two favorite Superheroes? Um, yeah I was going to like this no matter what. But here's the thing - when I rewatched, this time the 3-hour Ultimate Edition - I enjoyed it! In fact, I enjoyed it probably even more than I remembered! And no doubt I was excited to see this movie all the way back in 2013 when I first heard it was happening. Check out my blog post about it.

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “The Lego Movie” (2014)
Everything is Awesome! This is a big screen movie - and Batman is in it. So yeah, this counts! This movie is so much fun and so enjoyable just to look at. Will Arnett steals the show as the Caped Crusader - so I try to focus mostly on him.

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012)
The end of an era. The end of Christian Bale as the Bat. The end of Christopher Nolan as the director. The end of live action Batman movies with good Rotten Tomatoes scores. Tonight I talked about the final film in Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, and even though I haven't seen fully since the theater, I walked away from it this second time around with mostly positive feelings. Now you have my permission to listen...

Geek Mentality Spent Christmas Night With Wonder Woman 1984
After all the gifts and all the time with the same family in my bubble that I see all the time anyway - it was finally time to sit down at night and enjoy Wonder Woman 1984 on HBO Max! And enjoy it....I mostly did. Listen now to get all of my sleepy 48 hour later thoughts!

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “Batman Begins” (2005)
Finally, a movie to restore faith in my love of Batman again. The age of the fluorescents is over as I rewatch for the first time in years a movie that I forgot how much I love! Christian Bale takes on the cape and cowl for the first time as the Caped Crusader in the Christopher Nolan 2005 film, Batman Begins. It was good. Really good.

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “Batman & Robin” (1997)
I never thought a movie would make me like Batman Forever - but this one sure did. A big, dumb attempt at comic book camp that failed in almost every aspect. But guess what? George Clooney had nothing to do with the problems of this movie. He tried his best to make 1997's "Batman & Robin" a big screen hero. But it turned out to be a big screen dud.

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “Batman Forever” (1995)
Riddle me this. Riddle me that. Who had to watch this not very good Bat....man movie? ME! I did! I thought I was going to like this one, and it didn't take me long to start making faces at my television. It's not all bad - but it definitely was mostly bad. Batman Forever? More like Batman never again!

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” (1993)
I was a senior in high school when "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" came out in theaters. Now do you think being a senior in high school and recently having a girlfriend (now my wife) is going to stop this cool dude from going to see an animated Batman movie in a second-run movie theater with his older brother and friend who were both in college? Think about it - I am a 44 year old guy who calls his podcast "Geek Mentality" - what do YOU think the answer is?

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: "Batman Returns" (1992)
A bat, a cat, and a bird Walken to a bar...Stop me if you've hear this one. Welcome back to BIG SCREEN BATMAN where today (okay mostly last night before I fell asleep) I watched Tim Burton and Michael Keaton's swan song (well maybe not for Mike) in the Batman world with 1992's "Batman Returns." And this time around they doubled up the villainy with Danny DeVito and Michelle Pfeiffer - oh and Christopher Walken too.

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: "Batman" (1989)
Welcome back to "Big Screen Batman" where tonight I watched Tim Burton's 1989 classic, "Batman" starring Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton. I talk about how psyched the 13 year old version of me was to see this movie when it first came out - and 31 year later how much I still enjoyed it. I'm basically the same person as that 13 year old kid. Slightly more gray hair.

After 15 seasons - 11 of which I watched first-run (after catching up through Netflix DVDs), we say goodbye to the little show that could. And did. I wasn't about to let this occasion go by and do nothing! So I give my thoughts on the show and on how it all ends. Hope you enjoy!

BIG SCREEN BATMAN: "Batman: The Movie" (1966)
Welcome to the first edition of "Big Screen Batman" where today I watched the first ever feature length film to star the Caped Crusader. I watched the original "Batman: The Movie" from 1966. And with the aid of modern technology, I watched this for free through "The Toy Box" Facebook page. And you can too! Check back soon, same Bat website! Same Bat podcast!

Geek Mentality Is Overtired And Babbling On About How He Liked Rise of Skywalker
I went to go see the new Star Wars movie tonight - "The Rise of Skywalker" - and got out of the theater close a little before 1:00am. But I hit record anyway - and rambled on and on about it. Did I make sense? I don't know. Did I sneeze a lot? Yes I did. Am I still awake? I am not even sure anymore. But I liked this movie a lot, sorry if you disagree. Hugs and Kisses, Just a fan. Not an expert.
