Ep 26 - How To Love Again After A Broken Heart
I’m today’s podcast I talk about how my divorce didn’t break me, but taught me to live with an open heart. We must never stop dancing for the key to our freedoms lies within our heart’s center. Love is not blind It’s life’s most precious mentor. The end of my marriage was a pivotal moment in my life because I had to face all of the things I did not like about myself. Who was the man in the mirror? Why was I doing these things? Who would I become without her? Does divorce make me a failure? This battle went on inside my head for months. Eventually, I grew tired of the fight and made a choice to seek and accept help. It’s important to remember that the pain of loss is inevitable. Your mind is always seeking ways to survive and stay safe. For some of us a break up can send us down dark roads like it did to me, but I believe breakups provide some of the best opportunities for growth. I am not minimizing the pain you are feeling, what you are feeling is proof that love exists within you and makes you human. What I am saying is having your heart broken gives you a chance to connect to your heart, it gives you a chance to find yourself. And it gives you a chance to love freely with no expectations or limits. The idea is that broken hearts allow us work through so we can let go of what we need to, to show up to life as our best selves. Ep 25 - This is how I do the work

I woke up at 3:30 am to write. I haven't been able to do this in over six weeks since having the COVID. It's as if there has been something missing from me, and I can feel it slowly coming back. The morning silence. The first cup of my fancy coffee from a machine that looks like it's from back to the future. A dimly lit candle and the blank pages in front of me. It's all part of who I am these days. We are so used to looking towards others to fill our cups up when we should be the ones filling ours up first. It is inspiring and unique when you don’t feel like you need anyone to save you or need to save someone else. I mean, all of this innate desire to have someone in your life is normal from an evolutionary standpoint, and it is how we survived, but I have gone with this for too long. I’m today’s episode I talk about tattoos and how every transition in life transforms us, and while it may be hard to see this while you are experiencing it at the moment, you are meant to find yourself from transitions.  Alan Watts said that running away from fear is fear, fighting pain is pain, and trying to be brave is being scared. There is no escape. And I think what he means is we can find much of what we seek in our lives by accepting all of who we are.  Transitions in life are inevitable. And it's okay not to know what you want, or know who you are. It’s okay to not know what something means when it happens to you unexpectedly. It’s okay to miss others, and to not miss them, because you have the right to feel and be whomever you want. This is the heart of the human experience, and when you realize this, you’ll see there is nowhere to go in life. Your pain matters. Your story matters. It doesn’t matter if its your diet, working out , setting goals in your career, or relationships, setbacks will always happen. 

I want you to know they don’t make you a failure , they make you human. 

That is why I am a huge fan of creating structure in your life that allows you to form rituals and habits to get back on track. Here are 5 things I have learned over the years 1- Write that shit down and schedule it in your day , and be as specific as possible. It’s not enough to schedule it in, you have to make it specific and give a reason behind it 

2 - Make a commitment 

Do you have what it takes to follow through with something? You must learn that success is the average of your default day in life. 
 3 - Have someone in your life that hods you accountable Yup, you need a mentor, coach, to someone who will hold you to the standards you hold for yourself

Ep-16 Co- parenting struggles are forcing me to surrender and release
Adulting is straight up fucking hard. I remember always wanting to run away as a kid, and here I am an adult, wishing I was a kid again. With the holidays coming up, it is only the first year I am navigating co-parenting after divorce. Last year was easy, because diocese was fresh and we were very vivil, this year, well its not easy. Sure, we have a plan per the courts, but we don’t believe in having out child a contract. Ep.15- 3 Things You Can Do To Find Happiness
Most days, there is a dull sound playing in the background of my life. As if a broken record is on repeat, reminding me my wounds are very much real. I have come to know this sound well but have only recently begun to understand the message it has been playing. The only time the record seems to play a beautiful song that nudges me to dance is when I am engaged in the present moment. Typically, this only happens when I write stories like those you read, hang with my daughter, or train hard in the gym. When I am engaged in what keeps me grounded, I see all that is real, and nothing else matters. I have realized something about these moments that bump the broken record to play a sweet tune. The very thing many of us are searching for paradoxically leaves us in an elusive pursuit for something that is often in front of us. Happiness, the very desire of all humankind, is often rarely found because we chose to find music in the digital world and forgot how beautiful the analog world could be. But before I talk about that, I want to share with you a poem I wrote the other day, that will fit in with what I wrote about… This is for us who want to run, laugh, and play For those who have forgotten we have so much more to say There is beauty in the world we are living Even at dark times it may seem unforgiving It only takes twenty seconds of courage to start For you’ll find all you need when you connect to your heart It’s okay to be not okay as long as you aren’t settling for less than you are worth Open your heart . Don’t stop the search. I want to be free like a kid again. Those days when every decision I made was based on the notion of fun and nothing else mattered. Whatever happened to those days when fun in life was associated with getting muddy, scraping your knees, and getting lost in the discovery of the world? As I watch my daughter grow, I am reminded not to pin my views of life on her creation of the world. I want her to discover life through her own set of rules that allows her to express her true voice and character. That is to say, I want to guide her in a healthy direction while showing that her voice will always matter. I don’t know why I was thinking about this particular thing in life, but maybe it is because I am connecting with the lost boy who was caught in the middle of divorce many moons ago. I remember struggling as a young boy, and in my meditation today before this flow, I made a promise to myself to be done being someone I am not. As I get closer to seeing my book come to life, I am becoming my book. It’s an interesting experience because there is a saying in Sanskrit “ tat tvam asi” which means, you are that or that you are. In essence, I am one with the experience I create. Writing a book is changing me, and it is not an easy thing to accept as I witness the separation of two selves. That is why I like these Friday Flow entries. I am literally flowing with whatever is on my mind and trusting my creativity without trying to control the process. As such, I am in touch with my heart and the world becomes fun again. This is about letting go of the parts of me despetaly trying to hold on. It’s about accepting who I am today. It’s cathartic, freeing, and beautiful to release the grip so I can fully show and be who I am with the gifts I have to offer. Finding meaning in life is universal. If anything, I have come to understand much of what we seek directly correlates with our beliefs. Many of those beliefs come from an outdated system that forces us to believe and see only part of the equation. So we walk through our lives watching, surveying, and observing life through the viewpoint of others. Some of what we seek and believe is true, but we will steer towards the direction of only what we want to see for most of our lives. Somewhere, we have lost our ability to be a kid again. As we grew up, responsibility came into our lives and suddenly things mattered a lot more. Well at least we think they do. More and more things come into our lives, and the idea of fun slips through like water in cupped hands. But here is what I say..Life is full of adventure. The ups, downs, and parts of everything are what actually make it fun. Just like a kid trying to figure it all out. So I’m simply encouraging you to get in touch with being a kid again. We might have jobs, families and all these adulting things to do, but that doesn’t mean we can’t focus on making it fun in the process. Much Love George

Its transition day for me with Melina, and it usually leaves a host of emotions and things that bring up shadows of the past. I’m not sure how long I will continue to feel this things, but I woke up early today to work on the last few pages of my first draft of a book I’m working on… Interestingly enough, looking closely at my life has allowed me to see where I have separated form my mind, body and heart in the search for something greater. I can finally see and recognize where I lost trust in myself a long time ago at the expense of an story. Ep.8 - 5 Questions To Challenge Fear
Good morning… Anyways, I want to give you five questions that will hopefully challenge the way you view your life and how you show up to the world, but before that, I want to dive a bit deeper into exploring our relationship to ourselves… Last week I talked about There are many layers to ourselves in which we exist in the world. ⠀ Our mind that operates to solve problems and seek out new adventures and opportunities Our heart that contains vibrations of trust within ourselves and the outside world.Our body that responds to the world based on the what our hearts and minds are receptive to. ⠀ If we don’t take time to explore all three areas in our lives, we will exist mostly in a lost state of tension between our past and future and missing out on all the opportunities in front of us. But most of fear the unknown because the nature of our mind is looking for safety over uncertainty, and it causes us to resits many opportunists for growth in front of us. I am coming to believe how powerful our mind is, but also because it can also be a servant to darkness if we choose… This morning I woke up woke early searching for something, as if was looking for an answer to the pain I’ve been feeling. I haven’t had dreams like these in a long time, and naturally woke up to write a little about this pain. Interestingly enough, words started to bleed out from the depths of my heart as I felt each letter and verse connect with all of who I am, And suddenly I realized, how afraid I’ve been to explore myself at a deeper level, so rather than continue to write, I stopped and sat down in darkness with myself and got comfortable with the uncomfortable feelings. With minutes, the stillness turned to a safe space to explore, and there quiet hum of the room allowed me to sink deeper than the surface once again and feel gratitude for all of who I am. How many of you do this in your life? How many of you seek distractions from your pain without even knowing it? What if your mind also needed rest just like muscles in your body ? I want to share with you a poem I wrote today after I sat in silence, and as you hear these words, think of the areas you run from, or the things you distract yourself with. It’s like on some level, we are afraid to explore ourselves at a deeper level, for fear of what we 1 year, 2 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day The heavy burdens of my past are forcing me to play Exhausted from trying to outrun my past I want to be free again, how long will it last I used to get lost in the bottle and never had the courage to tell you how I felt Sober words give me strength to shuffle the cards of life I have been dealt Straight flush, five cards, all in a sequence The power of love exposed my weakness A memorable hand caused my identity to intertwine I could never see it, because your love played with my mind A broken heart offers a super power beyond something greater than I can see I wonder if anyone will ever see their own freedoms in the words I speak ….. The past can hurt, but after I wrote this, I told myself to stand as a safe space for me, and a mantra to remind me I am what I need which brings me to these questions.. Ep. 7- Headless human and Choices
The first step to developing a deeper relationship with yourself is to be clear on what it is you are choosing, today I read a poem to you called the headless human and dive depend into the choices we make and why every choice comes with a consequence.The commitment to the process, Is the fundamental intention to step towards yourself. Self intimacy and exploration has been the ingredient that has changed my relationship with my experience to the world. Learning about myself has given me power to be vulnerable, stronger, and courageous , and available to my life… I want to help you bridge the gap between the outside world, and your inner world. Before you begin any change, parts of you agree to step into a more conscious and more deliberate self, as you accept all of who you are in this moment by connecting your mind , body, and heart. Today, I want you to commit to the process of accepting all of who you are. Because it is in this process of consciously making the choice to commit to listen to this podcast, to change your life, you begin to feel things as they come and let life unfold the way it was meant to. Much of the time, we keep searching for more, never able to take a step back to explore our relationship with slowing down. Ep.5- What would your life look like with no limits?
I want to start with the question- What would life look like if you had no limits? I’ll get back to this question towards the end of this episode, but I had a chance to write an article today on self-sabotage and wanted to dive a bit deeper on the topic.. I wrote this article https://bit.ly/3mjD520 because I realized any time I was engaging in something outside my comfort zone, I would find myself caught in my head telling bullshit stories to prevent experiencing expansion, and quite possible rejection… And while self sabotage is there to protect us because it’s the way our brain has been hardwired for survival, we end up loosing out on many opportunities in front of us because we are afraid of uncertainty due to our pasts. In this process we create subtle or no to subtle ways to not experience the expansive nature on what is the other side of what we are truly afraid of. And the sad part Is, most of us never test our beliefs because we become a hostage to out past, so we end up giving meaning to things before we even try them… But you know what this also means? We are also the ones who can change what things mean to use and one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in my life is if you truly want to create a life filled with dope shit, whether it is in your relationships, career, health or finances, the only way to do just that is by taking fully responsibility for your life. Its interesting once you begin to look at your life like this because you can then gain to stand the fuck up for yourself and squash those limited beliefs. It’s so easy to go back to our old ways of being and doing. To run from pain in life through substances, working longer hours, and jumping in relationship after relationship… But to smash these limited beliefs you have to be able to trust yourself , and choose a life that moves you in a direction of your dreams… The reason why we hold on to the past, is because when things out of our control happen, we become over controlling in everything else in our lives… So when we tell ourselves bullshit stories, we know this is our reality and if we let it go, we have no clue what will happen… Part of growth, is being able to step into and look at what parts of your life are you holding on that doesn’t allow life to unduly the way it is meant to. When you can really do an assessment of this , you can really feel in your hearts what you are afraid of, and build a new skillset to set yourself free from the past. Here are a few questions you can ask yourself I hold on because…. What I gain from holding on is…. I have stayed stuck in this place for…. What area of my life do I need to take more responsibility for? FInally- what would my life look like If there were no lints… Remember, the goal is not perfection, but consistency. You might not like what you discover in these exercises, but this is your life, and there is no time for fucking around if you want to go all-in on and doing dope shit.
