Meditations of peace and good - meditations of Jesus in the tradition of Franciscan spirituality

By George Sabol, ofs, PhD
In these podcasts, the author of the book, "Meditations of Peace and Good," presents, in a narrative fashion, one of the meditations with each session. Each meditation reflects on the words and actions of Jesus from the gospels, and draws from the lives of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Clare of Assisi as examples of living that gospel message. Finally, there is an invitation to listen to the good news of the gospels and to look to the example of Francis and Clare as they pointed to Jesus with their lives.

Episode 6 - What Does Jesus Say I Am #4 - "I call you friends."
That Jesus called His followers His friends is both wonderous and very humbling.  He also told His followers that the Father would trim them to bear more fruit.  As a friend of Jesus we have been called to bear fruit abundantly.  The focus of our life should be to live as a friend of Jesus and to bear fruit to the world.

Episode 2 - Messengers of the Will of God
We may not be able to answer with all surety that we are doing the will of God, but we should be able to affirm that we are in relationship with God and that we know Jesus.  Are we attentive to God's messengers in our life?  Do we spend time to know God, to know Jesus?  Who are the messengers from God in my life?  More importantly, how am I to be a messenger from God to others?
