Jacob Bilabel, Founder & CEO of GREEN MUSIC INITIATIVE: How clean can music be?
The relationship between climate change and music has finally caught the attention of the media and made headlines in recent years. Notably with big names, such as Massive Attack, for example, committing to a project to map out the CO2 of the industry or Coldplay announcing a touring stop until 100% Co2 neutrality can be met. Everything might be put on hold due to CoVID-19, but we’re still curious about how “clean” can music really become? What is realistic now and where can we go? On our discovery to better understand sustainability within music and tech, we get to sit down with Jacob Sylvester Bilabel, founder of the pan-European Green Music Initiative (GMI), who in his own right is THE sustainability expert in the industry - strutting nearly 20 years of industry experience and actively shaping a green and smart music ecosystem - we are proud to have him join us to ask these big questions and run through some real and interesting hands-on projects pertaining to impact sustainability and the music industry.

THE FUTURE OF MADE IN GERMANY - Calling Engineers to the Frontlines | GERMANTECH: WORLDCHANGERS IN TECH
Where does the “MADE IN GERMANY” brand stand now and where can it and should it go in the future? What about in times of a crisis? In this live episode we talk to Prof. Dr. Achim Kempker, Chair of Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components (PEM) at RWTH Aachen Uni, about the importance of engineering in today’s world and how “Engineers Saving the World / Ingenieure Retten die Welt” is on a mission to revive makers for a better world. Historically MADE IN GERMANY was first introduced as a label of origin & warning, which, opposed to its purpose, quickly turned into the best-known trademark for quality, precision and specialization. Germany quickly became known for its prime engineering and having created the highest density of global market leaders. However, keeping and upholding a known tradition has created barriers, such as a slow speed of digital adoption and keeping up with foreign competitors that are embracing modern and agile methods.  We look forward to talking to Achim to better understand where MADE IN GERMANY is, where it can go and how his network “Engineers Saving the World / Ingenieure Retten die Welt” can revamp the engineering industry. GLOBAL IMMUNIZATION EFFORTS - A FRIDGE THAT CAN SAVE MILLIONS | GERMANTECH: WORLDCHANGERS IN TECH
We are all waiting for a, if not “the”, CoVid-19 cure. Hopefully a long-standing one in the form of a vaccine, but what sounds like the obvious solution in developed countries is far from the truth in third world countries where getting basic medical care is even a challenge. Julia, CEO of COOLAR, and her team from Berlin want to change just that with their electricity-independent medical refrigerators. Around 1.2 billion people worldwide lack access to electricity, another 1 billion receive as little as 2 hours a day. Kerosene, battery, and fossil fuel-powered technologies are outdated, costly and energy inefficient. Consistency and reliability of the cold chain, refrigeration, are essential to safely store vaccines and medicines anywhere in the world!
