BONUS EPISODE: Flaneuring Through Our Reading Lives
Surprise! I'm here with a bonus episode to give you a sneak peek inside my Get Lit(erate) Patreon community where we talk all things bookish and notebookish. This was the most recently released episode and I thought it might give you a taste of what to expect inside the community.  Our theme of the month is flaneuring: to intentionally stroll through our lives with a sense of observation and wonder. In this episode, I ask how could we apply that same thinking to our reading lives, too? With a reading response notebook, that’s how. =) Come listen as I talk through what a reading response is and could be and offer 15 different possibilities for what you might fill it with. After you listen, tell me your ideas, too! I’d love to compile them together in a PDF resource to make flaneuring through our reading lives second nature. And if you like what you hear, join me inside the Get Lit(erate) Patreon Community. It's only $5 per month for a whole lot of literate inspiration!

E6: Three Picture Books with Adult Lessons
I vividly remember one particular book from my childhood reading life: The Monster at the End of this Book by Jon Stone. It’s highly immersive, interactive nature set the foundation for all books to come in my reading life, especially picture books. But I realized that I do not celebrate the picture books I read on my reading log nearly enough. So, I’m doing just that inside this episode. By the way, if you want my reading log, you can grab it for FREE in the show notes below.  Today, I’m sharing three picture books that have big, adult lessons. These books encourage us to broaden who we are in the world, know that we are enough just the way we are and even give us a needed mindset shift. E3: Three Huggable Middle Grade Novels
I have a special page in my notebook that I treasure: Books I’ve Hugged. Yes. These are the books that I’ve loved so much that I did not want to let go of them when I turned the last page…so I didn’t. I hugged them instead.  Today, I’m sharing three of these huggable middle grade novels. And while they are perfect for the middle grade reader in your life, they are also perfect for the adult reader who needs a bit of a bookish hug, too. Here are the books mentioned: The Benefits of Being an Octopus by Ann Braden  The Road to After by Rebekah Lowell How to Find What You're Not Looking For by Veera Hiranandani The Other Half of Happy by Rebecca Balcarcel  Here's the blog post I mentioned on what adults should read children's literature, too! And here's an apology, too. Ed Mylett was actually the person who taught me that there are things that are caught, not taught. I read A LOT of personal development and need to be better at not mixing up my quotes.
