Get Off Your Ash - Episode 9 - Oz Fox of STRYPER
Oz Fox has been part of the original Stryper lineup since 1984. In this podcast, Oz talks about the first time he met Robert Sweet and some never heard before background details about how he joined the band. Oz opens up and shares some of the hardships he faced during the height of Stryper's success in the rock and roll world. Years of judgment and rejection finally took their toll on the band and led to them breaking up in 1990. Alcohol and frustration would eventually bring his first marriage to an end. But, he never lost his faith. Life kept knocking him down, and he kept on getting up. He refused to sit on his ash. He met Annie Lobert in 2008. She has a powerful testimony of escaping the sex industry and they fell madly in love and began a new life and ministry together that carries on to this day. In 2018, Oz collapsed on stage during a show in Las Vegas. Tests would later reveal 2 brain tumors. On this podcast, he opens up about the experience and even shares personal details regarding the procedure. With the tumors removed, there are some lingering effects. He shares his experiences with complete honesty and transparency. Listen to his story of how he has cultivated a lifestyle of trusting God and refusing to sit on his ash. I'm telling you, it will encourage and challenge you to do the same. He found his purpose through the ash...and so can you!

Get Off Your Ash Podcast: Intro
Get Off Your Ash Podcast: Intro
Did you know that you may have been sitting on a big ol’ pile of ash for most of your adult life? What’s the deal with ash, and why am I telling you to get off of it? You see, ashes are all that remain after something is completely burned and destroyed by fire. For some, it’s a relationship, for others it’s your self-worth which was destroyed because of what somebody said or did to you. In ancient times, ash was used as the international symbol for loss, pain and suffering. People would cover themselves in it to let others know what they were going through. We may not wear ash on our bodies today, but we sure do carry it around with us. Have you ever wondered why you are the way you are? Have you ever stopped to think about why you’re so afraid to step out and do what you’ve always wanted to do or to be who you’ve always wanted to be? Like you, I too was sitting on my ash! I allowed what happened in the past to dictate who I had become and limit what I could be. The day I discovered what was in my pile of ash, was the day I was able to confront and conquer the lies I had come to believe about myself because of the actions of others. There’s only one way to move forward. There’s only one way to be free of the pain and shame that you have been carrying. With all the love I can muster, from the bottom of the heart, these are the four words that are the key to your future and freedom…GET OFF YOUR ASH!” https://getoffyourash.today/ https://www.facebook.com/getoffyourash.today/ #GetOffYourAsh #NewBook #JoeAmaral
