This week on a very special episode of Getting Mouthy, Lena's sister Anna (a big OTH and Getting Mouthy fan) joins Lena and Alex for the first half of our discussion of this week's episode. And what an episode it is! It's the morning after the formal and all hell has broken loose. Haley apologizes to Nathan, but tells him she won't stop working with Chris, sending Nathan into a rage at the music studio where he chokes Chris and calls him a loser. Completely unphased by this, Chris later kisses Haley and invites her, the underage songstress, to come with his grown ass to NYC. Mouth smashes a brick through Brooke's windshield in a wild incel rage, while Felix does his best to convince her he is not the culprit, but he is the one. Meanwhile, when Karen finds out Lucas declined his heart test, she flexes all her Karen energy and revokes his permission to play basketball, forcing Lucas to mope around town, isolated from his buddies who won't let him play. More importantly, Peyton is struggling when a vandal spraypaints a homophobic slur on her locker. When she decides to fight back, she gets suspended, sending her into a spiral of sadness and desperation for scumbag Rick to come through with some sweet drugs.

This week in Tree Hill, Brooke and the gang are headed to the (spring?) formal just in time for all of their lives to come crashing down around them. When Nathan gets a tip that Haley is going to be crowned queen, he sets out to make the night extra special. But when Chris coerces Haley into practicing during his very expensive and limited studio time, she ends up arriving way late to the dance. All hell breaks loose when Nathan discovers this isn't the first time Haley has spent time with Chris and he starts to question her commitment to their teen marriage. Meanwhile, Peyton is having a rough night of missing her mom and not vibing at this lame ass formal, while battling the constant temptation to snort coke in the school bathroom. The worst part is that while Brooke and Peyton agreed to go together, Brooke is off falling for Felix, somehow, before Mouth tells her that Felix didn't actually take care of her after she got shit-faced at Tric a couple weeks back. All story lines collide at the Scott family beach house, with drama, tears, and major Felix stalker vibes.

After a 2-week hiatus we are back to kick off our rewatch of Season 2 of One Tree Hill! In the penultimate episode of season 1 Haley discovers some "nasty women" in Nathan's browser history, Deb is signing her divorce papers in a halter top, and Brooke and Peyton make up on a makeup run to the mall, with baby Jenny in tow. Little do they know that Nikki is lurking in the shadows, ready to snatch Jenny at the first possible chance, sending the Tree Hill mall cops into a tizzy and Jake ready to run for the hills of Savannah. Meanwhile, Lucas discovers that Dan wasn't always a total piece of shit when, many moons ago, he tried to get shared custody of Lucas, but Karen told him to instead get lost. Lucas is confused and Keith feels betrayed, dumping seventeen years of life regrets onto Karen. 

Will Haley ever forgive Nathan for his porn habit? Will Jake really run away with baby Jenny? Will Lucas really leave Tree Hill? Is this the end of Nathan and Haley? Will Peyton ever tell Brooke the truth about her affair with Lucas? Is Lucas REALLY dead? In this week’s very special episode of One Tree Hill, everything is on the line as all of the cast gathers, in some form or another, around Lucas as he chills out, dramatically, in a coma. Karen feels betrayed by Keith and his boozy behavior and sends him packing. Brooke is decorating Lucas’ hospital room with get well posters, while Peyton is skulking around Tree Hill avoiding the awkwardness of visiting Lucas while his mom and girlfriend cry at his bedside. Meanwhile, Haley feels guilty about her argument with Lucas, so instead of visiting him, fights with Nathan about the origin of their relationship. Also, Deb won’t let this whole divorce thing go and now Dan is threatening to reveal her secrets to Nathan and the world if she won’t give him another chance. By the time the episode wraps up, Lucas is stirring from his slumber excited to see his mom again and to dump Brooke stat. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! This whole love triangle is bound to come full circle soon!

After last week's high drama journey through tense family dinners and a near dead Papa Peyton, this week's episode starts out as a rage-inducing doozy with sneaky hallway kisses between Lucas and Peyton. Turns out, these two can't "bury" their feelings any more than Brooke can pick up on the sexual tension between her BF and her BFF. So begins the saga of Leyton creeping around and snagging smooches whenever they can, as Lucas continues to push for a real relationship, and Peyton agonizes over the reality of destroying her friendship with Brooke. After Haley sees them macking out in the library, she confronts Lucas and the two get into a big fight. Meanwhile, Dan's life is a disaster. So lonely at the beach house he almost dines with a beach whore, before realizing what a grave mistake this would be! Unfortunately, Deb walks in at just the wrong time and, seeing them together, assumes the worst. She wants a divorce and she wants it NOW! Keith spends the episode preparing for Karen to come home and pick up where they left off, when she kissed him at the airport. But when his nerves get the best of him, he slams down one too many Natty Lights and gets into a car crash on his way to pick up Karen from the airport. He may be fine, but baby boy Lucas is losing a lot of blood and is rushed to the hospital before FLAT LINING just as the credits roll. Whew! Lots of drama, but would we expect anything less? Happy New Year!! It may be 2022, but we are stuck in 2004, right in the middle of good ole' Tree Hill and another Scott family meltdown! This week, Nathan's grandparents Royal (what) and May commit their most heinous crime since bringing Dan Scott into the world when they stop by the Scott homestead, unannounced, and demand a birthday party be thrown in Dan's honor. But this is no Chuck E. Cheese ball-pit-stale-pizza-bday-fantasy for Danny boy, but rather a bloodbath with unwanted dinner guests (hey, Whitey!) and secrets revealed 20 years too soon (Dan QUIT college basketball, you guys, he QUIT!). Dan is in turmoil and Nathan is lost, unsure what exactly this says about the "basketball pedigree any kid would die for." Meanwhile, Papa Peyton is lost at sea, so Peyton and Luke head to South Carolina to identify a body that turns out to be some loser nobody cares about. But in an emotionally-charged moment of truth, Peyton kisses Lucas and they nearly DO IT before the reality of Brooke sets in and they stop mid belly kiss. This is another drama-filled, plot-propelling episode, so join us as we discuss all the things and then some!

Though the old saying goes "all Peyton and no Brooke make Lucas a shitty boyfriend," in this week's episode Lucas is everywhere Peyton is: raking his way through her kitchen in the morning, reading while she draws in the library, and butting in on father-daughter time with Papa Peyton, while Brooke grows increasingly insecure over their lack of emotional connection. Though not our *favorite* episode, we sure did have a lot to say about it in between rants about Lucas' poor behavior and bad choice of tattoo (#yabasic). I know we said last week's jaunt to Tree Hill was eventful, but *this* week's episode, friends and foes, may have it beat! We got the Cove City game coming up and because raging narcissist Dan Scott cannot handle his son's raw b-ball talent, he spends the episode belittling Nathan until finally he breaks, taking performance enhancing drugs in the hope of shutting his father up for good. But when too many drugs flood his system, Nathan passes out in the middle of the game, leading to an explosive argument between Dan and Deb and Whitey cancelling basketball until further notice (the horror!). Meanwhile, Lucas only reads white male authors and asks Brooke to read The Grapes of Wrath as foreplay, before drunkenly getting a tattoo with her, and denying that it was a date. So when Peyton shows up on his doorstep for a second chance at L-O-V-E to find Brooke already there, wearing nothing but Lucas' signature gray hoodie and a smile, we realize Lucas must choose between the two girls, like prized pigs awaiting slaughter, or else run the risk of their friendship lasting through season 1. Can you say love triangle? Because we can. In fact, we just did.

This week on One Tree Hill, it's the annual "Dan-Scott-House-Party-B-Ball-Crowd-Suckfest" and everyone's invited! In other news, Whitey can't stop eating cashews, Jake is always late for practice (spoiler alert, it's not cancer), and Lucas doesn't actually like to read, he's just always ahead on his English homework.

This week, there's no red light on Peyton's shitty life as we become reaquainted with one of Tree Hill's most depressing and iconic catchphrases, "People Always Leave" (sans its future, and more hopeful, counterpart "but sometimes they come back..." #no spoilers). Lucas continues to be verbally abused by Dan, causing him to debate changing his last name, while Nathan struggles just existing around their shared sperm donor, with everything coming to a head in the annual (?) Father/Son basketball game, conveniently held at a school, in a town, where Father/Son dynamics are at their most toxic whenever basketball is involved. In other news, Haley tells Lucas that she is tutoring Nathan, but leaves out how much she enjoys his hugs (#rawr #no spoilers), Dan doesn't know how to eat pancakes or what a carb is, and cheer practice provokes an existential crisis in all of us.
