Today we will speak with Kerstin what was it like to be a geek in Greece in the old times (ok mostly 90s) but also in Sweden, where we live now :)

Xanthi's point of view was that growing up in a capital city (Athens, Greece) she had a lot of options, comparatively speaking. There were comics and manga, and if you had the right friends once could find D&D and stuff like that. In the late 90s with the Internet things got easier, maybe not as in the US, but a geek could find things to buy.

From Kerstin's point of view, when it comes to books, the thing about Sweden is that it has a huge criminal stories books, that it was hard to find something that was not crime related, especially in smaller cities, outside of Stockholm. 

Both agree that the books market is mainly focusing on each countries most popular subjects and there are not as many science fiction books from Greeks or Swedish authors. There are, but not as many. That's why we read English written books.
