Marian Kudsi is a Syrian-Palestinian 18-year-old living in California! She was born in America but spent most of her childhood in Syria until the war came along and she had to flee the country. She is currently going into her sophomore year of college. She plans on becoming an interior designer and business owner. She loves fashion with a passion and spends 89% of her time thrifting! You might know her as the khalbousaya girl, the green wiggie or maybe just Mariam Kudsi! 


Fathi is a 20-year-old Palestinian-American. Aside from being a college student and living in Chicago, he has been a content creator for the past year and has entertained people through various social media platforms. He specifically aims to allow children of Arab American diaspora and second-generation children to relate to his content. His main goal, in the end, is to have more people laugh and really enjoy the smaller more relatable moments in life!

In this episode, we are joined by our friends Omar Popal and Umar Durrani. They are both first-year medical students that were raised in immigrant households. We talk about how our career aspirations were shaped by our upbringings and how to handle school as a first-generation immigrant. We also compare and contrast our experiences as daughters and sons in an Islamic household.

Omar Popal is a 23 year old Afghan American and the oldest of two brothers. He is currently a first-year medical student at CHSU-COM in Fresno California (where it is summer 80% of the year😅). He is passionate about mentoring and teaching as well as being an advocate for silenced voices in the Muslim community. Umar Durrani is a 24-year-old Pakistani American. He is currently a first-year medical student at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. His passions include working with underserved populations, healthcare policy, and global health. He hopes you enjoy the podcast and find it helpful!

Diya  is a 19-year-old Indian American who has been wearing the hijab for almost 9 years now (mashAllah!!!)

Diya joins us on this episode and discusses her hijab identity, how she began wearing it, and tips she has for future hijabis.
