Rolling Out Standards-Based Grading in K-5 & Grading Practices in 6-12

October 4, 2021--Join us as we go in depth about the role out of standards-based grading in our elementary schools--the timeline, what to expect, and explanation of what a report card will look like with guests Assistant Superintendent Missy Abel (Teaching Learning and Assessment) and Forest Hill Elementary First Grade Teacher Courtney Berggren.  GMSD has also worked to create a new Grading Practices Manual for grades 6-12 which ties directly to a standards-based grading approach.  Hear from Houston High School Vice Principal Bill Gillespie what those changes will mean for students.  And, this show also welcomes Houston High School student Priyanka Phaniraj to talk about student voice in the process of examining grading practices and the grading scale.
