Thank you for having me. How are you?

I am so well. I'm doing the best that I can we were just talking about ways to stay positive in this time and practicing gratitude is one of the ways that I do that. But before we get into all that I want to introduce I mean, I don't really have to introduce you. You are an actress, comedian, executive producer, all of the things all of the slashes an amazing woman and an amazing woman of God. I'm so glad to have you on God Is My Agent the podcast. Sherri Shepherd is here. I am so excited. Oh, they say you're glowing. They say you're glowing, Sherri.

Thank You. You know, you gotta make make sure in this time, like mental wellness checks, you know, like I told and I'm only mentioning people that folks know, to emphasize my point, but like Niecy Nash, call me like at five this morning, just to make sure I was gonna be okay to do a whole day of press, you know? Yeah to check on me, and I so appreciated that because sometimes you just down in your spirit and then around 1155 Kym Whitley, called to check on me and then Octavia Spencer was like, it was a little text going, Hey, friend, you know, heart check. And you know, and I do that to people. So it's kind of just--we have to keep it, especially women, we got to keep each other lifted up, because everybody's going through something different, you know, in their lives during this this moment of time. You know?

I love that--how your friends show up for you. And that's clearly a reflection of you, you know, the, the reason they feel that they should show up for you and that they have to show up for you like that. You know, would you agree?

Yeah, I do. And I have I have to say I have really, really good friends, you know, and Yvette Nicole Brown texted me She's like, you know, I'm subbing for somebody on your press tour, and I'll be there. And that just made my heart feel good, because I was like, it's Yvette Nicole Brown, asking me questions and I think it' s so important about who you align yourself with, who you partner yourself with in terms of friendship. And people say all Hollywood is so this, and it's so that and it is, it is absolutely everything you say it is. But you have to find those people who really share your core beliefs. Your core beliefs. So when you're going through the thick and thin of it, those people you know, will be there. They won't be the flighty friends, or the folks that are just there just for the perks, because that shows that that shows itself very quickly. And so partnership is so important. So these people that I ride with; Niecy, Kym Whitley.... I've been friends with him for 25 years. Niecy said stop saying 30 because stop she says stop it. You're know? Like it's literally, Kim Whitley and I lived across the street from each other. And we're both struggling comics. And you know, I've known Octavia for a long time.So these are not new people that I'm meeting, but then also people that I'm meeting, trying to figure out who I want to mentor and pour into because I am that auntie and don't mind being called Aunty, you know who I want to pour into? To be able to navigate this world and keep your sanity? Yeah, hmm. Yes, I think that is very important. I think women we need to look at who are because I don't I'm gonna tell you something. When I hear women say, you know women do better with men. That's not good. Oh, trying to connect and co partner with women. Because there's things that you go through with like somebody's gonna keep you strong and undergird you and nurture you the stuff that a man can't do. I love my brothers and but you know, it's like we we need our friends, our sisters.
