In this episode of Decolonize the Internet, we feature Jim Chuchu, a filmmaker, musician and visual artist living and working in Nairobi. He is also a member of the Nest Artist Collective and Heva Fund which provides financial support for Creatives.
Jim looks at how the Kenyan society is set up and how it is likely to be affected by the widespread introduction of AI and AI related technologies. He explains that these technologies don’t necessarily solve structural problems but are more likely to amplify inequalities.

On this episode, we interview John Walubengo, a lecturer at the Multimedia University of Kenya and a member of the Kenyan government taskforce on A.I. and Blockchain. Walubengo expounds on how those in the Global South can ensure that they are in the A.I. value chain, and whether the machines are likely to rise up like in The Terminator movies.
