Being a mum is amazing, but it is HARD, but it can also be pretty funny at times too - as our hosts Emily Beecher and Jade Samuels know all too well. You've heard them ask all our guests from Season 1, so now we've turned the tables as they play a round of Mum Would You Rather. 

We are finishing off Season 1 in style with a true Good Enough Mum, the one and only, West End star, Dianne Pilkington.

Dianne has a wealth of shows under her belt including playing Glinda in Wicked, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Fantine and Cosette in Les Mis, Grizabella in Cats and we’ve been so lucky to have her play the role of Pam in the rehearsal and development stage of our own Good Enough Mums Club Musical.

We caught up about her journey to being a mum, what that meant for her career (and getting back into lycra on stage four months after giving birth!) and of course, all about our up-coming Good Enough Mums Club Musical.

This week is a subject that we know is so so important to so many women, let alone mums. We’re talking about body image, styling and confidence with stylist Imogen Loveday-Brown.

We went in DEEP on all things body confidence and acceptance when it comes to being a mum - Immy was so honest about her own experiences as well as giving some amazing tips and confidence boosters.

We caught up with Jen over Zoom with her in LA, Jade in Birmingham and Emily in London. Gemma is so talented and has performed in some amazing shows including Falsettos, The Lion King, The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night Time, Sister Act, Hairspray and Rent. She’s also the co-founder of Songbird Sessions - a vocal services company the provides music for events as well as choirs for businesses and vocal coaching. So it goes without saying that her voice is incredible.

We touch on so many subjects in this episode - being a working mum, being a working mum in the theatre and musical world, being a black mother to a baby boy, as well as lots of chat about The Good Enough Mums Club Musical itself.

In this episode, we’re chatting with accessibility campaigner, disabled parent, devoted mum to her son Oscar, the amazing Molly Carnan. Molly talks us through her experience with being in a wheelchair and being a mum, particularly looking at the criticism and lack of support she felt when she first discovered that she and her partner were expecting. It was incredible hearing how resilient she is, and how despite what anyone else said - she knew she was going to be a great mum.

We were thrilled to welcome Carina White to our club. One fifth of the Dope Black Mum Podcast - Carina White takes some time out to discuss having a pre-teen in lockdown, discrimination many black women face during pregnancy and childbirth and what it's like being a working mum in a very male-dominated industry. We are huge fans of Dope Black Mums and Dope Black Dads - do go and check them out!

This week on The Good Enough Mums Club Podcast, we are joined by the amazingly talented Louise Dearman who is currently playing Esme in the R&D phase of The Good Enough Mums Musical.

We were so excited when Louise got on board - she’s a figurehead in the West End and Musical scene, and her voice is so beautiful. She’s played some amazing roles - like both Glinda and Elphaba in Wicked, she’s been in Guys and Dolls, Cats, Joseph and his amazing technicolour dream coat - and she’s sang with the likes of Michael Ball, Ramin Karimloo and Lee Mead as well as the BBC Concert Orchestra, The London Concert Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. And that’s just to name but a few!

This week on The Good Enough Mums Club Podcast, we are joined by the amazing blogger, influencer and mum, Tinuke Bernard.

We touch on so many important conversations including the juggle of being a working mum, the struggle when none of your friends have kids to talk about fishing baby poop out of the bath with, as well as bigger conversations around race, bringing up black children and the concerns mums have for their children, particularly young black boys, and what their future will look like. We caught up over zoom during lockdown with Tinuke in her home in the Hertfordshire countryside - although she would want us to point out that she is most definitely a Londoner at heart!

The Good Enough team all came out of this call raving about how joyous it was - we hope you love it as much as we did.

Author, poet and fierce AF mum Laura Dockrill joins us for our first episode of The Good Enough Mums Club Podcast. We caught up with her in the midst of lockdown over zoom and had such a great chat including about her experience with post-natal psychosis - she is so honest and relatable she talks about it with such understanding.

We also talk about her memoir, What Have I Done; A Memoir About Surviving Postnatal Mental Illness - which was described by the one and only Adele as - 'A book to save a whole generation of women’.

“We get it - it’s tough. It’s a tough gig.”
