#14 - Mugabi Byenkya, Writer + Poet
Mugabi is an award winning author, poet and occasional rapper currently based out of Kampala. After publishing his debut novel “Dear Philomena” in 2017, he was selected by the literary festival Writivism as on of the 56 writers who have contributed to Uganada’s literary heritage in the 56 years since Ugandan independence.
We talk about balancing notes from your inner circle with the perspective of an outsider, becoming your own promoter, and coin the term "Mugabi Cinematic Universe."

Malory Torr is a singer song writer and producer based in Toronto and working globally in sessions in London, Nashville and LA. You can hear her songs in placements on shows like Love Island, Queer Eye and Charlie Brooker’s Death to 2020.

Jason is a hair stylist and salon owner, he has won the L’Oreal Colour Trophy and was the first-ever winner of the superstar hair challenge television show on Canada’s Slice Network. Most recently, Jason has launched a luxury hair care line called Mela & Kera.

Drew Thomas is composer, producer, engineer, and general audio wizard. In addition to their commercial work they are also the bassist and singer of the punk band 'there there' and release lofi jams under the name Tetra. They also produce this show, cool!

Rob is a screenwriter, actor, and podcaster who has provided the voice for beloved characters like Max in the Adventures of Sam & Max and Woodstock on The Snoopy Show. Rob has also founded Hero Complex which specializes in creating and producing kids podcasts and family friendly shows.
We discuss directing your kids, how to think of a voice record like a marathon and what to do with good advice that might be dangerous to follow.

Maple is a burlesque performer, costume designer and instructor of dance and technique classes. She won the title of Miss Burlesque Melbourne 2018 and you can occasionally catch her performing as her alter ego Tease-Rex while wearing a giant inflatable T-Rex costume.

Daniel Tysdal is a reLit award winning poet, author and professor at the University of Toronto Scarborough where he was a crucial figure in the development of their creative writing program. Daniel has written three books of poetry, a poetry textbook called the Writing Moment, and has recently released his debut collection of short stories Wave Forms and Doom Scrolls.
