#GotAPhing? EP35: Corporate Career Lessons - Business Risk Management
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I talk about the last corporate position which was the Senior Director and Head of Governance at Standard Chartered Bank. So, this was a very interesting role for me because I joined this business team right after a personal sabbatical. This business team that I joined was actually the team I supported in my Financial Crime Compliance role previously and they were my business partners at that time.  Again, I want to emphasise that it is so important to focus on networking and keeping in touch with people who understand your value and they would very gladly want to work with you. I got the offer to rejoin the bank to lead the risk management and business governance of a $1.5B portfolio. It was exciting times especially for someone like me who has an accounting background and started in audit, sometimes it's difficult to envision yourself to move outside of the 2nd or 3rd line of defence just because it's not that natural to do so.  I'm here to tell you that it's totally possible if you focus on the core skillset. So, this is also a very challenging role for me as I had to step up from a regional role with multi-functional reach into a global role managing 43 markets.  ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method!  ⚡ Want to know more?  ► www.GotAPhing.com  ► gotaphing@gmail.com  ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing  ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing  ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP33: Corporate Career Lessons - Internal Controls Auditor
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about the time I was an internal audit and an internal controls specialist with one of the biggest global payments company in the world - VISA. So, this was one of the really fun roles I've done up till that point in time because I got the opportunity to travel all around the world with VISA. I've been to many parts of Asia visiting the big cities - the different people, cultures and backgrounds.  If you guys have been following me for some time now, I'm sure you know that I love travel. This role with VISA really enabled me to fulfil my personal and professional aspirations - that was extremely exciting at that time! I took up the role in internal audit... After many years in external audit, I realised that I did not like numbers so it was a natural progression for me to move into an area that I felt that I was a lot stronger in - internal controls assessment.  The opportunity with VISA came at the right time as I was pretty much scrolling LinkedIn, saw the job, applied and got it after 5 rounds of interviews!

#GotAPhing? EP32: Corporate Career Lessons - Regulatory Auditor
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about the time I spent as a regulatory auditor with Ernst & Young Singapore.  EY is one of the biggest global accounting firms in the world and I joined the financial services department in 2010 - long time ago.  So, when I joined I was initially doing external audit for some time. Later on, I was given the opportunity to try out compliance reviews on behalf of the regulators. In case you are not very familiar with financial services, this is basically the industry that includes banks, insurance companies, fund managers etc- basically the highly regulated entities.  As part of my role doing regulatory reviews, I had to understand the regulatory policy, perform qualitative reviews, analyse control gaps that would lead to non compliance. ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method!  ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP31: Corporate Career Lessons - External Auditor
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I talk about my corporate experience as an external auditor, which was the first 'real job' I took with a very small audit firm back in Penang, Malaysia. I was an external auditor for quite a number of years - probably close to 5 years - with two separate organisations. One was the small company I just mentioned, while the other one was Ernst & Young Singapore with the financial services department. If you guys are not in the finance line, I'll share a little bit more with you... If you have taken an accountancy degree or something similar, a lot of times you will need to complete your practical experience. In most instances, people would join an audit firm to make sure they get that experience and get used to the fast-paced and busyness of it all. So, that was what I did too.

#GotAPhing? EP30: My Journey Up The Corporate Ladder - A Story
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to share about my journey up the corporate career ladder for the past 10 years in the corporate world.  Recently I've been getting some comments such as "Oh, you look too young to have actually done anything in the corporate world at all" and "You look too young to have any real experience leading people and teams". How wrong they are.  In fact, I've had a lot of experience - very intense experiences at that.  So, I thought I'd share it via this podcast today in a quick and nicely summed up story of my corporate career, the roles that I've taken, some of the key points around that and how I transitioned.

#GotAPhing? EP29: The P.H.I.N.G Coach Method - [G]o-Getter
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about my signature P.H.I.N.G method that I use for coaching young executives and entrepreneurs. It is definitely the game-changing approach you need to know to become a high-performing young leader. Over the next 5 days, I will be going into each part of P.H.I.N.G - Personality, Hacker, Ideas, Navigate and Go-Getter, so that you can get a bit more insights as to this coaching model that I use for clients that work with me. So, the P.H.I.N.G method - today we are only going to focus on the final part [G]o-Getter and why taking action is important.  Have you ever gone around and hear people talking about what they are going to do? They are just busy sharing about all these awesome things that they are going to do - going to do this - going to do that. They have plans for this-that-abc-def.  But, do you see them doing anything at all? Do you see them taking action?  Or this could be you. Do you have this kind of behaviour where it is just all talk, no action?  So, today I'm here to tell you that the most important part of moving towards success and achieving your goals is taking consistent actions forward! p/s Get your free P.H.I.N.G method guide on my website - www.GotAPhing.com ! ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about my signature P.H.I.N.G method that I use for coaching young executives and entrepreneurs. So, the P.H.I.N.G method - today we are only going to talk about [N] - Navigate and why it's important to learn how to effectively navigate people and problems in a dynamic workplace. This is a topic I'm extremely passionate about because a lot of people ask me - How did you manage to rise up to senior management positions in global multinational companies so quickly?  And I always tell them - it really comes down to being able to sense the pulse of what is going on around me, and effectively navigating people as well as problems. These are the two key abilities - (i) understanding and dealing with people, and (ii) processing problems, make decisions and move forward!  This is the bit in my coaching program that I think is ultimately the most valuable because not many people have the unique experience of navigating very complex and dynamic environments - see my past career history and you'll know why! p/s Get your free P.H.I.N.G method guide on my website - www.GotAPhing.com ! ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP27: The P.H.I.N.G Coach Method - [I]deas
So, the P.H.I.N.G method - today we are only going to talk about [I] - Ideas and why generating ideas are important.  I am a huge advocate of creativity. I think that if you don't have creativity, that means that your mindset is locked and your ability is pretty stuck as well. So this part of my coaching program is focused on exploring possibilities and creating ways that align with your personality that can help you overcome challenges and achieve your big goals. I'm a huge believer that in order to move forward and think outside the box, you need to continue generating ideas and be open to different ways of doing things. Another skill that comes in handy here is adaptability - the world is changing at a rapid pace - so is your company, business and workplace relationships - those are dynamics that are always changing.  A lot of my clients are in global multinational companies where they will have to work with different people, cultures, countries, functions etc - if you have a stuck mindset of wanting to do things the old way and you are critical of the future way of work - then you are missing out. p/s Get your free P.H.I.N.G method guide on my website - www.GotAPhing.com ! ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP26: The P.H.I.N.G Coach Method - [H]acker - Mindset
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about my signature P.H.I.N.G method that I use for coaching young executives and entrepreneurs. It is definitely the game-changing approach you need to know to become a high-performing young leader. In this series, I will be going into each part of P.H.I.N.G - Personality, Hacker, Ideas, Navigate and Go-Getter, so that you can get a bit more insights as to this coaching model that I use for clients that work with me. So, the P.H.I.N.G method - today we are only going to focus on [H] - Hacker,  mindset hacking that is.  Why is mindset important before we decide what exactly we are going to do? ...whether it's our goals or challenges that we want to overcome. A lot of times we just go ahead and do do do do do - but we don't work on the inner mind first.  What I do see in a lot of my clients and the people I talk to is that there are lots of fears and limiting beliefs that are getting in your way of moving forward.  It means that you say that you want to do something but you have some sort of fears from past experiences etc or you believe that you can't achieve something, you're not good enough, you're not worthy, you're not deserving - those are massive blocks! p/s Get your free P.H.I.N.G method guide on my website - www.GotAPhing.com !

It is definitely the game-changing approach you need to know to become a high-performing young leader. That's a very good question.  I would say this - If you don't know who you are in terms of your strengths, your weaknesses, your default behaviours - if you don't have that kind of self awareness it is going to be very difficult for you to move forward. Because... How do you know if something is suitable for you? How do you know if you're actually going to naturally excel at it? #GotAPhing? EP24: Let's Talk Coaching - What Is It Really?
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about coaching. What is this coaching thing all about? Is it legit? Why do I have to pay to work with a coach? And really, what do I get out of it? As for myself... How did I get into coaching in the first place? How did I end up becoming a coach?  So these are the very common questions I get asked a lot.. so why not we tackle it one by one so that everyone can get a better understanding of what coaching is all about. And, if you choose to get coached then what you should expect.  For me, coaching is partnering with a person with more insights and experience that can guide you towards achieving your goals in pretty much the most minimum time possible.  I've been hearing this from different people and I'm sure you guys experience this yourself - How painful is it to really try figure it out yourself?  How useful are all these youtube and udemy courses where you find hours and hours trying to figure things out? ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP23: Extroverts Connect: Being A Leader Comes Naturally
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why being a leader comes naturally to extroverts. Welcome to the final day of my 5-day 5-part 'Extroverts Connect' series. If you haven't caught the other days, do check them out in my podcast episodes!   How many of you out there consistently volunteer for new projects, assignments, experiences?   If you're an extrovert, I bet quite a number of you do so. That's really amazing because in the current busy and dynamic world that we live in, where a lot of things happen online, during offline interactions it's very lovely to see people being proactive and really stepping up to share their views, opinions and volunteering to try out new things.   And, that's the beauty of extroverts.   Extroverts are highly enthusiastic and people who want to inspire, so I find a lot of them are always very keen to step up and take on leadership positions.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP22: Extroverts Connect: Pace Your Chatty-Chatter
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why you should pace your chatty-chatter, and not go on and on and on, as an extrovert. Welcome to day 4 of my 5-day 5-part 'Extroverts Connect' series. I'm so happy to have you here again with me today!  As extroverts, you guys are extremely enthusiastic, always very inspired by interesting topics, people and experiences - that all is great. I have a lot of extrovert friends and I always find it very amazing that they are always so enthusiastic and so high energy.   What I really want to talk about today is sometimes, the flip side of having so high energy and being so highly extroverted is that you will just go on and on and on when you speak - just because you really want to connect with the other person.   Something that you would really want to take note of is whether you are pacing out your conversation.  And, not bombarding the other person with all sorts of information and every single thing that you have on your mind.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP21: Extroverts Connect: Don't Hate Being Alone - It's Okay
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why for you as an extrovert, you shouldn't hate being alone and it's really okay. We are now at the mid-point of my 5-day 5-part 'Extroverts Connect' series - I'm really happy to have you here with me.   As an extrovert, you really enjoy the company of other people, you enjoy social interaction be it a coffee catch up, meeting, party, a get-together etc - those really excites you and you enjoy meeting different people and talking to people.  The thing about always putting yourself out there and always being at the forefront of social interactions and engagements with other people is that there is a flip side to that and that is this - you rarely have time for yourself.  Sometimes, I wonder if it's by design because generally extroverts do enjoy time with people.  What is not spoken enough is whether or not extroverts truly feel okay to be alone.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP20: Extroverts Connect: Don't Jump Into Conclusions
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why you should not jump into conclusions. Welcome to day 2 of my 5-day 5-part 'Extroverts Connect' series. Lovely having you here!  As an extrovert, you have this natural tendency of jumping into conclusions .  Why do I say that?  Because you have a sightly shorter attention span compared to everyone else. As an extrovert, it's very natural for you to get stimulated by different discussions, different thoughts, different views as well as different opinions.  So, you move very quickly and you get stimulated by very interesting conversations.  I've seen this a lot in my highly extroverted friends, colleagues, team members as well as very senior people in management and leadership positions in the corporate world. Similarly, in the business world as well.  So, jumping into conclusions is a habit - the good thing is that you can always choose to change the habit.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing ► www.anchor.fm/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP19: Extroverts Connect: Stop Talking and Start Listening
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why as an extrovert, you should stop talking and start listening. Welcome to my 5-day 5-part 'Extroverts Connect' series. In these 5 days, I will be talking about the little aspects of the extrovert personality type.   So why do I say extroverts should stop talking and start listening?   The fundamental is this - as an extrovert, you tend to think when you speak, or rather you speak before you think.   So there is a lot of vulnerability in there because you'll just blurt out something, or sometimes I use the word 'word vomit' from an extrovert.   This is something that is quite the default and a lot of extroverts do behave like this.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP18: Signs You're Unmistakably An Extrovert
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about extroverts, specifically signs you're unmistakably an extrovert.   This is a very interesting topic for me because I know a lot of extroverts - in my personal life, in my professional network, the people I talk to on a daily basis.   Sometimes, when we think of extroverts we tend to label them as loud and noisy, but there is so much more to this personality type that is very interesting and is worth exploring. That' what we are going to do. How do you know if you are an extrovert? And for those of you listening who think that you are not, this is also a very good exercise to identify the extroverts in your life so that you can better understand their world.   It's all about understanding each other. It's all about connecting as well as communicating.

If you haven't caught the other days, please follow and favourite my podcast! Leadership - a very interesting topic and something that I'm extremely passionate about, especially youth leadership.   So, why would an introvert make a good and powerful leader?   What do you think of when you think of a leader? Is it someone that is very out-there? Is it someone that has a lot to say, is it someone who always looks good in an awesome suit, or a in an awesome sharp professional dress?   So when you think of a leader, what comes to mind?  And, if it you could tag a personality to that, how would you describe a leader?   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing ► www.anchor.fm/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP16: Introverts Unite: Speak Up and Be Heard
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why you should speak up and be heard. Welcome to day 4 of my 5-day 5-part 'Introverts Unite' series. If you haven't caught the other days, do follow my podcast!  The ability to speak up and be heard pays massive dividends in your career, business or in life. Yes, I know you're an introvert and you think best and you work best when you're alone.  The thing is - when we are actually at work, whether it's in our corporate job or you're an entrepreneur, at the end of the day you are working with other people. So, you'll be spending time with people, either working together as part of a team, a collaboration on a project or even correspondences.  So, if you stick to the typical introvert's way of doing things which is doing things quietly on the sidelines, doing things on your own, never volunteering, always waiting to the called, waiting for instructions, and just generally waiting for something to happen etc. Then, don't be surprised when later on come feedback time, performance reviews and promotions, you then realise that you're not getting ahead.   Because, if you're not communicating, you don't exist.

Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why deep conversations are cool. Hi - we are now at the mid point of my 5-day 5-part 'Introverts Unite' series. If you haven't caught the earlier ones, please follow my podcast!  So, right now, in the world today, there is a lot of emphasis on 'small talk'.  If you are attending a bunch of trainings and courses, I'm sure you would have heard about why small talk is so important to launch your business, how it helps in your career, and in terms of developing a good and cordial relationship with people.   Great - I'm all about small talk. I think the ability to have small talk is a really good skills to have in your communication arsenal - so, amazing!  What I want to talk about today is the lack of appreciation of the beauty and the power of having deep conversations.

#GotAPhing? EP14: Introverts Unite: Quiet Doesn't Mean Stupid
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why quiet doesn't mean stupid. So, we are now in day 2 of my 5-day 5-part 'Introverts Unite' series and welcome!  As an introvert myself, I was a very quiet child when I was growing up. I was always observing people. I didn't really had much to say, even though I had a lot of ideas and a lot of things going on in my mind - observations, thoughts and being curious about things.  But I didn't really felt the need to share. I didn't feel the need to tell people how I felt and I was generally quite quiet. I didn't mix around with my cousins or friends.  I want to remind everybody that quiet doesn't mean stupid.  And, I want you to ask yourself when was the last time you met a person who was fairly quiet.   What was your immediate thought of that person in terms of confidence and competence?   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing ► www.anchor.fm/gotaphing

This is the first part of my 5-part 5-day series of 'Introverts Unite', so do listen on!   The thing is I have spoken to many introverts and being an introvert myself, there is always one big thing that I feel we think about a lot - and, there might be some truth to that.   People out there think that introverts are weird.  Weird because we are not always very keen to join the next party, we are not that keen in networking events, we don't always say yes to meet-ups, we spend a lot of time at home etc. People find that weird because - what's there to do at home?  My friends - let me tell you that there is a lot to do at home! You can read, you can write, you can learn something on youtube, google some interesting articles etc.   At the end of the day, if you enjoy spending time in solitude, spending time at home to recuperate, there is really nothing wrong with that.

#GotAPhing? EP12: Signs You're Secretly An Introvert
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about introverts, specifically signs that you are secretly an introvert.  It's very interesting to note that introversion is not the same as social anxiety or shyness. If you're an introvert, it doesn't actually mean that you're constantly feeling socially anxious or you are extremely shy and you don't talk. That is a very big misconception about this personality type.   I can hand to heart tell you this because I am an introvert myself.  In fact my introversion level is quite high, probably about 80%.  That doesn't mean that I or other introverts out there are quiet people. As you guys know, I do videos, I share a lot on my social media and I'm also recording this podcast!  Today I really want to talk about what is an introvert, and more importantly for those of you who are still wondering if you are an introvert/ambivert, or you are trying to deal with an introvert - the first step is to identify one.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP11: Top 10 Soft Skills: Creativity Goes A Long Way
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about creativity, and specifically why creativity really goes a long way.  Let me ask you this - How often does an issue arise? or maybe even issues, problems, circumstances? And if your personal and professional lives are like the most of us, I'm sure it happens more than you like. And that's where creativity comes in.   Creativity is a very close soft skill that will help in problem solving. The thing about problem solving is this - it's very easy to tell someone that they need to bring you solutions, but how are they going to come up with solutions? Is it just a simple google.com and the magical genie called Google will simply answer all of your questions?  But is it tailored to your actual circumstance and your actual issue?   Probably NOT.

#GotAPhing? EP10: Top 10 Soft Skills: Adapt - Nothing Stays The Same
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about adaptability, because the truth is nothing ever stays the same.  I hear a lot of words thrown around such as transformation, change management etc.  Every person whether in business or in corporate are constantly talking about this ability to adapt as well as be flexible.   But what is that really important? It's because the world is changing at a rapid pace - whether you want to recognise it or not.  There was a place and time where we used passbooks, cheque books etc - those days are long gone and we are moving into a digital world.

#GotAPhing? EP09: Top 10 Soft Skills: Attention to Detail Matters Too
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why we should pay attention to detail, and it's not always about the big-picture.  Now, let me ask you a few questions - is your work always accurate, is your report always thorough, does your deliverable always contain all the information that is being asked for?  If you can't answer Yes to all of these questions, this will likely mean that you have not yet mastered the art of paying attention to detail.  I know that thinking big, strategic thinking, having big picture thinking, these are the words you hear thrown out a lot in the corporate world or in business today. Every leader needs to have big thinking, big data, big whatever etc.  But let me tell you today, the small things matter too.   The small things that are ultimately the ones that make up the big things.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP08: Top 10 Soft Skills: Make Your Own Decisions
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about why you need to make your own decisions, and what is holding you back.  Making decisions is the hallmark of a leader. It shows that you are confident enough to take the next step forward, and taking the next right step forward is all that matters. Progress is still progress.  The worse thing is procrastinating and then waiting for something to happen. Like I always say - hope is not a strategy. This is something that I tell every single one of my coaching clients - it's so important to remember. Let that really sink in.   Why some people are afraid of making decisions?   It's all down to the fear of making a wrong decision - people don't like to be wrong.   ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP07: Top 10 Soft Skills: Clear and Critical Thinking
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about clear and critical thinking, and how it helps in problem-solving.  In today's world, we are all very focused on doing, doing, doing - there's always something to do, there's always something we need to take action on. That all is great - taking action is obviously much better than sitting around and waiting for something to happen - it doesn't work like that, guys.  The thing is, if you don't think about why you're doing something and what you are trying to achieve, what is the likelihood that you will achieve what you've set out to achieve? So, that's what's really happening in corporates as well as in business.  Everyone is looking for growth, everyone is trying to chase this magical growth out there without getting clear on what their strategy is.   And, that's where clear and critical thinking comes in.  ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP06: Top 10 Soft Skills: Leadership is Self-Management
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about leadership, specifically how leadership really starts with you.   In my view, leadership essentially is self-management.  I know that leadership is a very big word - we hear it a lot, all the time. Everyone's telling you that you have to become a good leader - we all want to become a good leader, we want to become a team lead, we want to have a big team etc.   So, I want you all to take a pause today and realise that leadership truly starts with you.  If you want to become a leader, guess who you have to lead first.  It's YOU!  ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP04: Top 10 Soft Skills: Creating Win-Win Relationships
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about creating win-win relationships.  This is a very interesting topic for me as I've spent many years in the corporate world where I've seen lots of people getting stuck because they make things all about them.   Things are not always about you - it's also about the other person.   What value do you bring? How are you actually helping? Unfortunately,  I've seen many people getting stuck in their heads about the whole Me, Me, Me - you have to do this for ME!  ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP03: Top 10 Soft Skills: Getting Along With People
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about getting along with people.  Is there ever a day where we don't have to deal with people? Maybe for some of you hermits out there, that day actually exists, but we all live in the real world. To progress in your career or do well in business, you must be able to get along with people.   Yes, there are a lot of things you can do on your own. But a huge portion of that will rely on other people to help you make things work, and even if you have a product to sell as an entrepreneur, you need clients. And, clients are people.  There are some very highly prized abilities such as teamwork, collaboration, cooperation and coordination.  Guess what is the fundamental of all these?   People!  ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP02: Top 10 Soft Skills: The Art of Communication
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about communication, and go into the detail on the  art of communication.   I'm sure we all know by now that everything in your life or your workplace are impacted by your ability or inability to communicate well.   What is this big word called 'communication'? Is communication solely confined to the ability to speak well? A lot of people equate communication to public speaking - I beg to differ.  I think that communication is that 99.9% of conversations that we have in our daily life.  In my view, communication consists of five key components: listening, speaking, writing, reading and non-verbal.  ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing

#GotAPhing? EP01: Soft Skills Are The Real Hard Skills in Today's World
Hi - Welcome to Got A Phing? In today's podcast, I want to talk about soft skills, and why soft skills are the real hard skills in today's world.   I live in Asia and the emphasis on getting good grades is a big thing in this part of the world. Since young, we are told to focus on studying hard in school and getting that paper qualification in university. But, what you have learned are mostly hard skills.   Smart, brilliant and talented people with poor soft skills get fired every day.   Soft skills matter.  Where are you in terms of your ability to: communicate clearly, creative thinking, problem solving, managing your time, getting along with others and taking the lead?  ⚡Ask me about my 'P.H.I.N.G' coaching method! ⚡ Want to know more? ► www.GotAPhing.com ► gotaphing@gmail.com ► www.linkedin.com/in/meiphing ► www.facebook.com/gotaphing ► www.instagram.com/gotaphing
