#1 - F1 Andretti Cadillac block would be "one of the biggest injustices"

Well, what a start to the new year in F1 in light of Andretti Global's announcement of partnering with General Motors and Cadillac in a bid to get its entry bid over the line.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for a new-year roundtable, with Andretti leading the discussion.

The winter reset was sparked by a team principal merry-go-round in early December, and we still do not know if there will be 23 or a record-breaking 24 grands prix on the calendar, with China requesting to be added again after its race was cancelled.

Also, is Fred Vasseur the right man to shake up Ferrari, and which of the rookies on the grid this season has the most to prove?

All this and more on the first podcast of 2023, so have a listen and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, and don't forget to subscribe for more regular podcasts.

#20 The Stewards' Room Podcast: Did the 2022 regulations work?

This year saw a totally new set of aerodynamic regulations introduced and the GPFans team now ponder, did they work?

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

The season may have been utterly dominated by Max Verstappen after a brief stutter at the start but the battles lower down the order made for captivating viewing.

With the number of overtakes on the rise, what did F1 get right and where is there more room for improvement?

#19 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

#19 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Max Verstappen rounded out his record-breaking season with a 15th win of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

The Dutchman was on top form once again but Ferrari and Charles Leclerc will have left Abu Dhabi more than satisfied after securing P2 in both the drivers' and constructors' championships.

Off-track, however, all eyes were on Sebastian Vettel as the four-time champion made his final F1 appearance. His legacy will be a long-lasting one and his presence sorely missed within the paddock.

#18 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The São Paulo Grand Prix

George Russell may have scored his maiden F1 victory and Kevin Magnussen a first pole position, but infighting at Red Bull dominated the São Paulo Grand Prix.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkesdeputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

After Max Verstappen and Red Bull secured both the drivers' and constructors' championship titles, attention turned to securing the first one-two in the team's history.

But after the Dutchman disobeyed a direct team order, rumours emerged suggesting foul play from Sergio Perez in Monaco earlier this season could have been a motivating factor.

#17 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Mexico City Grand Prix

Max Verstappen secured the constructors' title for Red Bull with a record-breaking 14th win of the season on a weekend marred by budget cap sanctions and a media boycott from Red Bull.

GPFans deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Despite Verstappen moving ahead of Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel as the most successful driver ever in a single season, Red Bull's weekend took place under a cloud after the team was fined and docked ATR time for breaching spending limits.

Elsewhere, Mercedes enjoyed a strong performance with Lewis Hamilton in second place as Ferrari toiled with a lack of pace.

#16 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The United States Grand Prix

#16 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The United States Grand Prix

Max Verstappen secured the constructors' title for Red Bull with his 13th win of the season but that was the tip of the iceberg at the United States Grand Prix.

GPFans deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Red Bull raced in memory of team owner Dietrich Mateschitz on Sunday following the death of the 78-year-old with both Verstappen and team principal Christian Horner dedicating the success in his honour.

A spectacular crash involving Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso interrupted the race, but after recovering to seventh, the Alpine driver's day took a turn for the worse after the FIA handed him a post-race 10-second stop-go penalty for lapping with only a single mirror - something that was deemed as dangerous.

#15 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Japanese Grand Prix

#15 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Japanese Grand Prix

Max Verstappen wrapped up his second world title with a dominant victory at the Japanese Grand Prix but that doesn't even begin to tell the tale of the Suzuka weekend.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

As was the case last season, issues with the FIA overshadowed the weekend with the points system coming into question as well as just why a recovery vehicle was allowed onto the track with drivers still circulating.

What should have been a celebration of Verstappen's brilliance was, unfortunately, anything but.

#14 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Singapore Grand Prix

Sergio Perez scored his second win of the season to salvage something from a disastrous weekend for Red Bull at the Singapore Grand Prix.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Perez was dominant at the front and survived a late penalty scare to add to his Monaco success.

Max Verstappen was unable to the title at the first opportunity after a team miscalculation in qualifying and driver errors in the race itself.

But off-track, a storm is brewing as the FIA prepares to award certificates of compliance with the financial regulations.

Max Verstappen scored an incredible eleventh win of the F1 season after starting from seventh at the Italian Grand Prix.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 writer Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Verstappen was dominant at Monza as he laid one hand firmly on the championship trophy.

But the weekend was overshadowed by the negative reaction from fans and some within the paddock after the race finished under safety car conditions.

The GPFans team debates the FIA's decision and praises the debut performance of NycK de Vries.

#12 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Belgian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen scored an incredible ninth win of the F1 season after starting from 14th at the Belgian Grand Prix.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes and deputy editor Sam Hall join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Verstappen was imperious as he scythed through the pack to extend his championship lead to 93 points.

Ferrari again was its own worst enemy with a number of costly errors across the weekend and Lewis Hamilton was left to regret his lap-one aggression when defending from Fernando Alonso.

#11 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Hungarian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen completed a stunning recovery drive from 10th to win the Hungarian Grand Prix but his path was eased by yet more errors from Ferrari.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 correspondent Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Ferrari was again its own worst enemy in Hungary as the team put Charles Leclerc on the dreadful hard tyres for the closing 30 laps of the race, dropping him from first to sixth. With the gap to Verstappen now 80 points, is the battle over?

The GPFans team also react to Monday's breaking news that Fernando Alonso will move from Alpine to Aston Martin for next season.

#10 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The French Grand Prix

Max Verstappen secured yet another victory at the French Grand Prix but Ferrari blunders again stole the headlines.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 correspondent Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Ferrari's strategy was perfect in qualifying but a race-ending driver error from Charles Leclerc and horrifically slow decision-making from the pit wall for Sainz saw the Scuderia lose significant ground on Red Bull.

With Mercedes closer to Ferrari than the Italian manufacturer is to Red Bull, is the championship now a done deal?

#9 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Austrian Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc scored his first victory since the Australian Grand Prix with success but off-track events, unfortunately, stole the headlines at the Red Bull Ring.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 correspondent Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

The second sprint event of the year provided some thrilling racing but differences between the drivers and the stewards came under the spotlight with the latter criticised again for a lack of consistency.

Abhorrent behaviour towards some fans in the grandstands created further unwanted headlines for the sport with a number of drivers speaking out against such action.

#8 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The British Grand Prix

Carlos Sainz scored his maiden F1 victory but the star of the day at Silverstone was the Halo.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 correspondent Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Sainz scored victory at his 150th F1 weekend after also starting from pole position for the very first time.

But Ferrari's strategists again came under the spotlight for numerous questionable decisions during the race, including leaving Charles Leclerc as a sitting duck in the closing stages.

The merits of the Halo again shone through with the device almost certainly saving the life of Guanyu Zhou in a horrific lap-one shunt.

#7 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Canadian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen was imperious in Canada as Lewis Hamilton returned to the podium for just the second time this year.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 correspondent Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Verstappen secured his fifth win from six races after surviving late pressure from Carlos Sainz after the Ferrari driver benefitted from a cheap pit stop under the safety car.

But with one championship rival, Sergio Perez, retiring early on and the other, Charles Leclerc, recovering from 19th on the grid to finish fifth, the Dutchman extended his points lead to 46.

Can Verstappen still be caught and just what is going on with the recent run of poor power unit reliability in the sport? This and more on the Stewards' Room Podcast.

#6 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Monaco Grand Prix

Ferrari let slip a qualifying one-two as the FIA floundered and Perez was a picture of perfection at the Monaco Grand Prix.

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 correspondent Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Perez secured his first victory of the season after dominating team-mate Max Verstappen across the entire weekend to close the points gap to just 15.

But it was a day to forget for both Ferrari and the FIA with both organisations leaving the principality with a significant amount of egg on their faces.

An unexpected pre-race downpour was ultimately the cause of both problems with Ferrari yet again blundering its strategy. This and more on the Stewards' Room Podcast.

#5 The Stewards' Room Podcast: The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix

GPFans editor-in-chief Ian Parkes, deputy editor Sam Hall and F1 correspondent Ewan Gale join Oliver Wilson for this week's roundtable.

Max Verstappen secured a grand slam victory after taking pole, the fastest lap and leading across the line on all 63-tours at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

With Ferrari toiling, the championship gap was shrunk significantly with Red Bull closing in.

But at Mercedes, the picture was again bleak for Lewis Hamilton, even if George Russell's fantastic drive to fourth did at least put some gloss on the weekend.
