We need a king for the Spiritual Battle. Many people refuse to acknowledge that truth.

Sometimes God gives us things we want to show us it's not the thing we need.

The children of Israel wanted a king and asked Samuel to provide one - God told Samuel they were not rejecting Samuel but God.

A King will make you a slave. For the Israelites a king was their idol. We have our own idols. Just as the Israelites thought they could master a king, we think we can master our idol. But it always winds up mastering us.
