In this episode, we hear students discuss their different perspectives of idols. As we grow up, we look up to people we find admirable. Oftentimes, we visualize these people as perfect idols who can do no wrong, so what happens when they mess up? How does this change our perception of them, and what does it help us realize about the truth behind who we idolize? In this second episode of fitness roundup, we asked student athletes how their teams practice. We spoke to sophomores Luciana Picasso, Alexa Orozco, Sylvia Mendiola, and Sophia Gonzalez-Abreu, who all compete in different sports. The Varsity Soccer Team heads to the State Championship for the 3rd year in a row to play against Fletcher High School from Neptune Beach. The game takes place in Deland, Florida on Friday, Feb. 25. The team won in 2018 and 2020 but lost last year at the State Championship game. They go into the game with after a 17-1-3 season. We talkt to various players about the upcoming game. Are you an athlete who's been through an injury? Injuries happen to athletes daily, but just because you get injured doesn’t mean you should let that get in the way of playing the sport you love. In this episode we talk to junior Oliva Fraga and senior Valentina Marin-Rojer to see what difficulties they have faced as student athletes who have been injured. We also spoke to the head athletic trainer here at the school, Belinda Rodríguez, who tells us about the setbacks she has seen some athletes go through that lead to major comebacks.
