Tonight it is Beth and I talking about a chat message I got from a viewer last week. They asked…How does one know about what your role are in life as male or female? Can you live without officially moving to what you actually feel like?
I address a few points true for my belief and Beth talks about her experience as well.
I believe: FIRST – Gender roles are assigned by society. You typically “know” what your role is from your environment. A gender role is based on your society rules. Typically your family religion dictates the expected role of man and woman. If you chose to follow a religious doctrine; understand that it is still written, interpreted, and used by man to live in a civilized society.
SECOND – Gender roles are defined by US because we count as society (we make our own rules first if we are mature and well) that is our gender expression. Gender roles are independent from our biological sex and our internal sense of identity. Also separate are sexual orientation and romantic orientation.
In order for us to be happy we did choose to transition. We both waited until late in life because of the fear of rejection and notion that we could survive while dealing with unhappiness. Fact was we didn't want to survive anymore we wanted to thrive and that happens when you appreciate the life you are given.

I am your host Guru Brando and I have 2 curious guests with me tonight, Beth & Q! We are an odd kinda family with 7 members in 1 crazy old home. A new year, new hats and a new season of entertainment just for you. Start 2021 off real proper like with new friends and a fresh perspective on some of life's challenges. You don't know what you don't know. Meet our family: Grandpa Fred who is a healthy 78 year old woodworking genius is Guru Brando's father. Guru Brando is a 44 year old life coach with OCD that runs a holistic practice. His wife, Beth, also 44 is a writer and Army Veteran living with the challenges of PTSD and Brando's quirks. Q is a 17 year old who struggles with Asperger's Syndrome and his multitude of siblings. He is the oldest and most likely to eat all your food. His only sister is Alex, 16 and driving. Creativity is her bag baby, and anxiety is her biggest issue at the moment... along with her nemesis, Lucas, the next kid in line. Lucas is 11 and always gets shafted, true story. He is the sweetest soul and busiest thinker. He is totally gonna be an engineer and take his little brother on all kinds of adventures. That brother is Oliver. He is 9 and had a rough start to life, but is now ripping up the roads on his bike. He has challenges with his speech and was given a diagnosis of Autism when he was 18 months old. I Guru Brando, gave birth to Oliver on my 35th birthday at 35 weeks in Germany.
I gave birth to all 4 of our kids and Beth helped...lol. I am a transman and Beth is a transwoman. I started my transition over 6 years ago. She started her transition almost 3 years ago. We have been married 18 years and friends since 1990. We both always knew who we were and have had the privilege to experience that life together. As parents, we do the best we can with what we have learned and always seek insight.
Join our conversation about what normal is as we talk about our favorite movies and tv shows. Laugh a little and learn a lot about people you didn't know you wanted to know. Prepare for 4th wall breaks and notes to take. Expect tangents, and moments where Q gets the upper hand. We talk storylines, VHS splicing, and Q's inability to hit his mark with a crossbow and a nickel.

A new Episode with a new guest named OLIVER! He isn’t new to me; he is our 4th knucklehead and is age 9. He had a bit of a rough start in life and needed extra help but is now thriving with remarkable ease. All our kids are more than we could have wished for if I am being honest.
In this episode Oliver and I are talking about what he got for Christmas and how much he appreciates his gifts. Listen and recall your glory days when he chats about his favorite 40s and 50s T.V. styles and the awkwardness of the 80s model T.V. We talk about how fantastic grandparents are to have and how lucky he is to have healthy ones. We try to visualize what my fake teeth will look like when I get them. He also shares his interest in the big city. We even address the needs of the teens. Join me as I talk to a 9-year boy with a very old soul.
I have decided on podcasts to introduce new guests by providing an intro with photos and a popup video style format with added facts to help you get to know them. I have a short and sweet guest tonight. Not talking about myself, but close... my boy Lucas. He struggles with ADHD and suffers some sadness with lack of self esteem being a problem as he moves into the preteen years. He is in therapy and is doing well, the report is good from his doctor. He struggles in school staying focused so his work suffers. He has been trying to do better a yr now, time to start doing! So, I am going to start coaching him with my program to see if that helps a bit more, to compliment his current therapy of course.
He was born in NC and moved overseas to Germany before he was 6 months old. 4 more times after that, before he was 7. This is our forever home and it is time to adjust. Here's hoping that he finds his peace! Watch and be entertained for a spell, maybe learn something about Lucas or yourself!

It seems the most familiar type of communication with teens is passive-aggressive communication, is that also Q? Can he identify with the following type of passive aggressive behaviors: doesn’t share his honest view when asked, refusal to notify people of his dissatisfaction with them, and will he take part in gossip but not confrontation?

WELCOME to the Positively Entertaining Conversations podcast with Guru Brando & Sometimes Curious Guests. This episode I am chatting with Alex "the girl".

I started this podcast to give folks unique views on life as a Professional Life Coach as well as a freak in a family much like the Munsters. For those of you who remember that show, I would be Herman only way shorter and a transman.
We just completed a 4-part series on Boundaries, Beliefs, and Behaviors. Alex was in the last 2 and her brother Q was in the first 2.
Alex is 16 and lives with the challenges of having autistic siblings, a grandpa from Texas living across the hall along with parents that are both trans. Her parents both struggle with symptoms of PTSD and partake in, as well as advocate for medicinal marijuana. Alex is an army brat that lived overseas and recently became a driver. She is in a committed relationship with someone a bit older and takes care of the many pets she has acquired.
There are also the normal challenges of being in high school! Plus, the house feels haunted and full of stuff! - hoarders
What does it all mean for y’all? A Positively Entertaining Conversation about real weird stuff and an occasional lesson on life.
Let’s talk about whose permission she needs to change her beliefs as a teen in a confusing time. What are her most valuable beliefs that she will keep as an adult? We did touch on this a little bit during Tuesday’s talk. This episode is the rest of the story!
