Folks we've hit the spring season which means basketball, basketball and more basketball. Baseball is there too but we don't care about that till August. We recap our poor predictions from March Madness, talk about all the transfer portal nonsense that's going on and then we dive into the meat and potatoes of it which is the NBA. We talk about the play in civil war between the Sixers and Heat that divided us and then go through every 1st round series and talk about the keys for each team in advancing and our predictions in the 1st round. New year, same NFL? It felt like I was in 2021 with all these playoff games. Chiefs beat the Bills AGAIN, Bucs decimate the Eagles AGAIN, and the Cowboys CHOKE AGAIN. Maybe we're in the Groundhog's Day, who knows! The boys are back for another episode, they do a few playoff recap which includes all the Wild Card blowouts and the repercussions of the Divisional round. The boys spend some time lamenting the losses of their favorite PA teams, discuss if the NFL is rigged based on the SB logo and give their predictions for Championship games. For basketball, the boys cover the massive games that Embiid and KAT had and spend way too much time laughing at the fact the Timberwolves blew a 15 point lead to the Hornets. They also discuss Siakam trade and the Bucks being the most brain dead franchise by hiring Doc Rivers after starting the season 30-13. Finally, the boys play a fun game of Blind Rankings. It'll get a good laugh out of you, as Robby blind ranks NBA players that he could beat in a street fight and NBA players that he'd want to do his taxes.

Week 12 NFL predictions

A great weekend of sports for the boys at Gym Class All-Stars. The Phillies, who haven't been to the playoffs in over a decade, have managed to defeat the Cardinals, dethrone the Braves as best team in the NL East and steal victory away from the Padres. We are ecstatic to see the Phightin Phils return to the World Series and talk about our thoughts and give our analysis of the Championship series. On the other side, the Astros have a stranglehold on the Yankees. Alex and Robby speculate about an Astros vs Phillies world series and keys to victory for both teams.

Next, the boys recap the CMC and Robbie Anderson trades and what this does for the Cardinals and 49ers respectively. After this, the boys go through the Week 7 games and discuss the major storylines like the Bucs and Packers losing, the Colts being criminally inconsistent and the Bengals looking like a contender yet again.

Finally, the NBA season is in full swing. The Heat and Sixers have started off TERRIBLY. Robby and Alex discuss what each team can do to avoid continuing this cold streakIn addition, they chastise Adam Silver for trying to reprimand teams for tanking and have already broken the golden rule of avoiding talk about the Lakers. They also talk fantasy sports, and memories from playing fantasy football and fantasy basketball.

Hey would you look at us! We did back to back weekly episodes for the first time in a little while. We're killing it. You know who's not killing it... the Pittsburgh Steelers. Anyways, this episode has a recap of the Week 2 games. Lot of apologies this episode, including the Matt Ryan revenge game that didn't happen, the New England Patriots being deemed as "terrible" and the Vikings being an unstoppable juggernaut. Because of the last one, Robby is all in on the Eagles which will 100% end of being a jinx. However, we did get a lot right. The Bills are poised to make a run at the Super Bowl, and the 49ers got a lot better losing Trey Lance. The boys cover the little bit of outside news there is such as the Ime Udoka situation and suspension, the Bogdanovic trade to the Pistons. They also talk about Albert Pujols breaking 700 home runs and the ethics and courtesy of giving a record breaking baseball back to the hitter. Football is BACK! We were all so excited that we missed an episode before the start of the season, but the boys are back to recap all the happenings in the sports world. Week 1 came and went and it was AWESOME! The Bills looked unstoppable in Week 1, the Eagles didn't fully blow a lead, the Steelers made Joe Burrow and the Bengals look like a bottom feeder team . On top of all that the Falcons blew another lead, the Cowboys still suck and Geno Smith really is a bad BAD man. The boys also cover the newest NBA offseason acquisitions. The Donovan Mitchell trade took the Cavaliers from a fringe playoff team to bona fide Eastern conference contenders. Pat Bev and Russell Westbrook are united in LA and the Suns owner is in some HOT water for a number of reasons about his conduct with employees. Baseball is winding down. In almost 2 weeks we'll have the playoffs. Somehow, the Phillies are still in playoff contention. Alex and Robby pick their favorites for the World Series and for once it's not biased. Finally, the boys do a belated time capsule picks for the 2022 NFL season. Basically, they give picks and will not look at them till the end of the season. Usually their choices are embarrassing based on how the season goes, but sometimes there are some gems. See what the future holds for these predictions. After the longest hiatus imaginable (thanks Robby for deciding to move across the country), the boys are back to celebrate the NFL being back... kinda. We talk the Deshaun Watson suspension and why karma will catch up with the Cleveland Browns. For the NBA, Alex and Robby give their thoughts on the marquee matchups for the 2022-23 season, including the opening day and Christmas Day games. They also talk about Lebron James' new contract and if he should have taken less money for a better roster. The Warriors knocked off the highly favored Boston Celtics. We discuss the fallout of the NBA Finals. Is Steph Curry top 10, how much should Jordan Poole's contract be, and will Andrew Wiggins stay with the Warriors. On the flip side, can Tatum and Brown coexist, and what do the Celtics do with their roster. Do they trade some role players in hopes of upgrading the starting lineup or do they stick it out with the roster that got them to the Finals. Christian Wood got sent to the Mavericks, so Luka has his 2nd star.... kinda. PJ Tucker is testing free agency, John Wall is being a detriment to the Houston Rockets and then there's Brooklyn...Kyrie wants a long term contract, the Nets don't want to give him that for obvious reasons. They are at an impasse and only time will tell with that. If he leaves, what happens to Kevin Durant... does he leave, or do him and Simmons become the Dynamic Duo we didn't ask for. With the draft being a few days away, the boys break down their predictions for the Top 10 NBA draft picks for the 2022 draft. A lot of consensus but truthfully this draft is really up in the air with where anyone can go. LIV Golf and PGA tour need to do a "loser leaves town" type of match to settle the rivalry once and for all, and then Gronk retires, and the Browns still suck. While we are just weeks away from the most boring point of the sports cycle, the NBA is still on going and boy is it tense. The Warriors and Celtics are locked in a battle of ages. Deadlocked 2-2, it is a very even series, with each game going back and forth. It really is any team's series. Robby and Alex recap the Finals and go over a few topics of discussion such as: Is Draymond Green washed up? Will there be a Klay Thompson Game 6 performance and should Steph Curry win the Finals MVP if he loses. For the MLB, the season is going... the Phillies went on a 9 game win streak, but at the cost of getting obliterated by the Diamondbacks... so it's moderate optimism from us Philly fans. Do the boys think that the Yankees can hold onto the top record in the MLB and/or will they choke in the playoffs? Alex explains the PGA-LIV controversy to Robby and why competition may not be great for the sport. Finally, the boys touch on the NFL. Specifically, getting into the Deshaun Watson debacle and the Patrick Mahomes slander. All this and more on this week's episode of Gym Class All-Stars!

We've been gone for two weeks, and well... a lot has happened. Both number one conference seeds lost in gut-wrenching game 7s, Al Horford is a superstar apparently and the Phillies went ahead and fired Joe Girardi after a dumpster fire of a start to the season. Don't worry though... some things never change. Robby still knows nothing about the NHL and Alex still hates Boston sports (and the Cowboys). The boys are back and get everyone caught up on the playoffs. They discuss the fallout from the Conference finals, the potential detonation of the Phoenix Suns roster and the intrigue of what is going to happen in Utah. Quin Snyder resigning may be the catalyst to the Jazz finally entering a rebuild. 

As a fun second segment, Alex and Robby took a break from Basketball GM to test their NFL and NBA knowledge. The boys try and name the top 15 NBA all-time statistical category leaders and all the Super Bowl MVPs. Will they be able to name everyone? Will you be impressed? Wow! Our first 2 hour episode. I promise you it's not just filler. We just had a lot to cover this week. The 2022 NFL Draft came and went. Lots of excitement and incredible blockbuster trades (if you're an Eagles fan like me). We give our thoughts on the top 10 picks, the big trades that went down and some of the more notable picks of the 1st round. Speaking of first round, it just concluded in the NBA playoffs. We recap all of the series, give our picks for who we think is going to make the conference finals, and have the most heated argument about Joel Embiid and the Sixers and his "injury-prone-ness". Listen, I know it's been a few weeks. We've been fighting tech issues, and had a fully recorded episode get corrupted. We needed some time to decompress so I wouldn't smash my computer. But as always we are back with a new episode. This one is very basketball heavy. We recap the March Madness tournament, go over how our predictions faired in comparison to the actual final outcomes, the biggest surprises, and our overall impressions of the tournament itself. Transitioning to the NBA, we talk about the major storylines leading up to the playoffs. Lebron and the Lakers being eliminated from playoff competition, overall standings, hypothetical playoff matchups and our predictions for the regular season awards (MVP, DPOY, 6th man etc.). Finally, in an effort to make our show more exciting and interesting, we added a new segment to end the show. For the next few weeks, Robby and Alex will be attempting to build a Basketball Dynasty on Basketball GM. They are the co-GMs of the fictional Denver High, and are attempting to finally bring Denver a championship. Will they do it, or is GM-ing a harder responsibility than we give teams credit for. We also discuss the current Eastern conference standings, where each team will end up by the end of the year and how the new Sixers duo looked against the Nets (spoiler alert... not good). Finally, the NFL has been really active in the offseason. The Broncos pulled off a blockbuster trade to land Russell Wilson, the Chargers bolstered their defense by getting Khalil Mack and the newly named Washington Commanders acquired... Carson Wentz. Heinous. We discuss all the trades and signings and debut a new segment where we name the Kirk Cousins equivalent of different categories.

Sorry for the long hiatus, but your favorite indie sports podcast is back with another new episode. The 2021 NFL season is officially over. While we're all sulking since we have nothing to do on Sundays now, we make the best of it and talk about the culmination of one of the best years of football with Super Bowl 56. We discuss, Odell's big game and horrible injury, Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald being the saving grace for a poor Sean McVay game plan and the refs ultimately being the deciding factor to end an important game. To round out the year, we talk about expectations for the Rams next year, if the Bengals will ever be able to make it back to the Super Bowl and the QB comparisons for the young crop of AFC QBs (Mahomes=Brady, Allen=Manning, etc).

With the NFL season complete, NBA has taken all of our attention and the trade deadline came in with a whimper and ended with... general confusion. Lots of really odd trades including the Porzingis trade, the Sabonis-Haliburton swap and the Harrell trade. We called a lot of them (like the McCollum trade) but some of them were such head scratchers that we had no idea how they even happened. Alex is thrilled that Ben Simmons is gone AND the Sixers got a superstar in return. Robby is thrilled because they Heat are doing well... life's pretty good. The All-Star weekend was.,.. subpar. The dunk content STUNK, the skills challenge was mid but at least the 3-PT contest was exciting. As always, the All-Star game itself was a fun time. Best. Playoffs. EVER! Wow the conference championships did not disappoint. Bengals had one of the best underdog comebacks I've ever seen! Joe Burrow did not back down under the pressure and beat Chiefs, earning the mantle of hero for preventing the Mahomes family from Tik Tok dancing all around LA for the next 10 days. And then Matt Stafford/Cooper Kupp don't back down from a fight against the 49ers and bring the team back from the brink of elimination to send the all-in LA Rams to the Super Bowl (in their home stadium)! The boys discuss the two games in more depth, give predictions for the Super Bowl, give their list of the best prop bets for the big game. We also discuss the Brian Flores situation, the new coaching hires and how we think each will fare in their first season as a HC. 

For the NBA, we discuss the egregious Clippers-Blazers trade and why Damian Lillard has a death wish when it comes to playoff success. We give our predictions for the upcoming trade deadline, give our thoughts on the intense MVP race and finally discuss the near perfect NBA all-star selections for the upcoming All-Star game. Even Andrew Wiggins deserved the all-star nod (hot take... we know).

Wow, what a weekend! My heart rate is still at 160 BPM from all the excitement the Divisional Round had to offer. We go in depth on all these historic games. Evan McPherson being a stone cold KILLER, Aaron Rodgers' legacy is tarnished by the 49ers, Tom Brady deserved to win after his insane comeback and the game of the century (arguably) between the Chiefs and Bills. So much to unpack, but we do and we do it well and we also give our predictions for the AFC and NFC championship games. MLB is still in a major lockout but at least people are chatting AND David Ortiz made the hall of fame (congrats Big Papi). Finally, the trade deadline is looming for the NBA and a few names are being brought up. Domantas Sabonis, John Collins, and Christian Wood are all potentially available. As we predicted, James Harden has Kyrie's spontaneity and will seek out free agency this summer. Could this finally be the reunion of Harden and Morey that Sixers fans have been craving for over a year. The NFL regular season finally ended, and boy it did not disappoint. Upsets galore, divisional upsets and the Chargers and Raiders gave us the most exciting and most chaotic game of the season (unless you're a Steelers fan). The boys recap Week 18, give their predictions for the Wild Card games this weekend and end it by talking about the Black Monday firings and who will fill the Head Coaching vacancies.
