E338 - JM Ryerson - How to live your best life by transcending self-limiting beliefs.
In this episode we get to speak with JM Ryerson, JM Ryerson is an entrepreneur who has been building companies and leading sales teams for over 16 years. JM is also the co-founder and CEO of Let’s Go Win, a company dedicated to helping people around the world live their best lives. He has spent his career focused on enriching the lives of others while continuing to educate himself on best practices in leadership, vulnerability, and teamwork. JM’s great passions are helping his team members lead a life of fulfillment and become vulnerable and open to what life has in store for them. His ultimate goal is to give others the tools that will allow them to transcend their self-limiting beliefs. There is nothing more inspiring than watching someone achieve more than they could ever imagine. That is why JM considers it a real privilege to be a part of other people's incredible journeys. JM lives in Granite Bay, California, with his wife, Lisa, and their two amazing boys. Our Guest JM Ryerson LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jm-ryerson-5877606 Website: ASUREA.com  (Company Website) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jmryerson.author Hacks to takes Away What this company is all about is taking people from fear to freedom because there's so much potential in people you see it all the time. Let's go win keys to living your best life and the company to follow that. That's what I'm passionate about. Be kind to yourself, because the truth is told, if you mess up, it's amazing how hard we are on ourselves when it's really not that big a deal. What are you feeding your mind, body, and soul with? Is it positive? Or is it potentially just negative and just really brings your whole aura, everything just becomes that so you have to guard it closely. Just dump everything from your mind onto paper and then put it into hopefully a very fun readable that people can get a lot of nuggets out of. Did you know that 80% of our hardwires are put into us before the age of five? There's no possible way to please everyone because we're all so different. But if you are giving 100% of you to whatever you're doing, and you're bringing positivity and value to this world.

E336 - Russell Nohelty - How your love for writing magic and mythology can help you raise money
In this episode we get to speak with Russell Nohelty, He is a USA Today bestselling author, publisher, and consultant. He runs the small press publisher Wannabe Press and The Complete Creative, which helps creatives build better businesses. He runs successful Kickstarter campaigns for Ichabod Jones: Monster Hunter, Katrina Hates the Dead, My Father Didn’t Kill Himself, Spaceship Broken: Needs Repairs, and I Can’t Stop Tooting: A Love Story, Monsters and Other Scary Shit, Cthulhu is Hard to Spell, Thee Godsverse Chronicles, and Pixie Dust raising over $135,000 on the platform to date, including three campaigns that raised over $25,000 each, and one that raised $39,000. He’s also written several graphic novels, novels, and children’s books which all can be found on his site, www.russell nohelty.com. Let’s enjoy and listen to his amazing journey! Ended up learning a lot. There's just so much more you have to do in good fiction writing, and he finds it to be nearly impossible. Many people are experts or there are many masters, but there's no one who's ever done it perfectly. We're all dealing with the exact same demons telling us all of the empty pages and like how to write faster and how to come up with an idea. And I will just say, that was self. It's easier to research now, but most of my work comes from, like mythology and magic. My tip is if you could do something else, go do it because books are everything that someone would do. If you're writing a business plan, this would not be like a product that they would say that would be wise to invest in or give capital to. So we only do it because you love to do it.

E335 - Jesse Cruz - How to Live your DASH by Intentionally Defining your Purpose.
In this episode, we get to speak with Jesse Cruz, he lives in upstate New York with his wife and children. The Cruz family currently serves at Cross Creek Church. He has proudly served our country as an Iraq War Veteran of the U.S. Army. Jesse is the Program Coordinator of the Wayne County Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. In addition to his career, he has been engaged in speaking at correctional facilities and coaching sports. He has a B.A. in Community Youth Development at Nazareth College. Currently, Jesse is pursuing his Master's in Theology at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and hiking with family and friends. Jesse is available for speaking engagements and book signings. Our Guest Jesse Cruz LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jesse-cruz-133714164 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jesse.cruz.5 Hacks to Take Away I knew that my writing could help something, someone else to go through challenges that they're going through. And the purpose of the book is that you're given, which is a small part of the tombstone, which is a huge part of your life. It's because we don't know when our time is going to end. We have limited time here. I'm in tune with these eight areas of my life, and I'm intentionally finding ways to develop them, and to grow them, then my life is much more meaningful. The writing was therapy for me. That's what helped me gather my thoughts, my feelings, my emotions, to try to make sense of my life and what I experienced in it. I just try to turn my pain into power. If you have paint and you don't do anything with it, then it becomes destructive. But if you take paint, do something constructive with it, it becomes powerful and it brings it to the purpose and that's what I want it to do. My goal is just to help people a little less not to say I'm going to give you the cure. I'm going to wave this magic wand and it's all going to go away. But I want to help you cope with hope. You don't want to give up encouragement. I want you to heal and you can only heal when you have hope that you can come on successfully to the other side. My hope is that people will be inspired enough to share their hurts that they want to, or when their time comes and they go through some trauma. They will be bold and brave enough to go share it with the person down the street.

Our Guest Jodi Krangle LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jodikrangle Websites: voiceoversandvocals.com  (Piece of Cake Voice Overs) Twitter: JodiKrangle Hacks to take Away For me, I made total sense to make a podcast because it's something I'm really passionate about. I never particularly wanted to be a DJ. That was never really my goal. But, the idea of other people hearing it was very cool to me. I did a lot of stuff with computers and making computers, the hardware and selling computers and then selling a bit of software. My parents both were musicians. My dad played guitar and my mom telling our story time was really sing a long time when we were kids. And because of my love of technology, I actually really enjoyed the realtor reel tapes. Almost more than I enjoyed the speaking. Google became the only game in town, and all you could do is create content that made the game quite different. There's a lot to learn. The people who are teaching it are the people who found it by trial and error.

E333 - Jason Cutter - How to get everything in life by helping others solve their problems
In this episode we get to speak with Jason Cutter, he is a founder and CEO of CCG, grew up in Fremont, California. He has a bachelor’s degree in marine biology (with a lot of time spent with sharks) from UC Santa Cruz, an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, and a wide variety of experiences in business, from technical support at Microsoft to deploying overseas as a civilian contractor. Jason’s analytical mind is always looking for ways to solve problems or make situations better. He is all about taking action, not just talking about theoretical plans. Those who have worked with him describe him as passionate, intense, and driven. His philosophy can best be summed up in this quote from Zig Ziglar, “You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” Let’s find out how he got through all these great experiences! Our Guest Jason Cutter LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/jascut Twitter: JSMBdesigns Websites : cutterconsultinggroup.com  (Company Website), jasoncutter.com/  (Company Website) Hacks to take Away Everything I do is focused on sales and persuasion and helping people be successful. So that's the punch line. You don't put in the time and the investment and then that's what you get right, almost a self-fulfilling prophecy and this endless loop. Which is fascinating because that's my first sales job in the mortgage business. I have enough experience with persuading and selling but when somebody puts that label of sales, then they feel confined to this weird way that it has to be done. Focus on sales on helping the other person by solving some problems or helping them achieve the goal of helping them buy something they want. Maybe it's not solving their pain but you know how you can do that and then just using persuasion to move them forward towards what they want right if you have the solution for it. When you find that qualified prospect who is a good fit with what you have to sell and what they need. And you have to overcome challenges and objections. I think one of the things that has made me really successful and helps me from a sales and then also from a coaching perspective is I was not raised by salespeople. I was in fact raised by anti salespeople.

E276 - Candice Fathi - How to access your limbic brain and utilize your genius to its highest potential.
Our Guest Candice Fathi LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/candice-fathi Website: marvelvillage.com  (Company Website) Email: themarvelvillage@gmail.com Hacks to take Away Talking about the mind and how it is so powerful, and we can make it do whatever we want The more that we are authentically ourselves, the more that we are just uniquely awkwardly weirdly, operating on our own vibration. An infant's brain is actually more powerful than a supercomputer. Children have just a wonderful capacity, their EQ is just higher than ours, capacity, to love to forgive, to have empathy to respond gracefully. All the things that are vulnerable. So they're very courageous. That is where the golden ticket is. That's the game changer. Children have the humility to learn from everything. They can learn from above, they can learn from bees, they can learn from animals, they can learn from plants. Children are really amazing. The genius part of our brain or even be able to take in the information into the prefrontal where we do the reading, the writing, the judgment, the arithmetic, the higher thinking, we need to have those alarm systems turned off. Otherwise, you can't enter the house. In this episode, I get to speak with Candice Fathi. She's a dynamic TEDx speaker. And I had the opportunity to experience her dynamic presentation at the TEDx Ashburn in 2019. Learning from her about the limbic brain blew my mind. After all, I am a person that loves to talk about the mind and how it is so powerful. Once we have the power we can make it do whatever we want. Listening to the talk I was super amazed and had goosebumps. Hence I decided to bring her on to the podcast and share with my audience, the powerful information about the limbic brain here. E274 - Bonnie Marie William - How to follow your dreams and become a superhero!
In this episode, I get to speak with Bonnie Marie Williams. She's a voice actor at vo superhero. She is the ultimate superhero, and voiceover superhero. And she's got an amazing journey that we're about to learn about. She's got a bachelor's degrees in theatre arts and acting concentration, and she's into a lot of cool things that I wish I had the opportunity to get into. Our Guest Bonnie Marie William Twitter: https://twitter.com/vo_superhero Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vosuperhero/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vosuperhero/ Hacks to take Away When somebody telling you that you are not good enough is one of the biggest motivators if you can turn it into that. Sometimes you just need to see that it can be done. And then after that, it's like everything just picked up like I hit bottom but bounced back. It's been going well ever since. Everything takes longer than you think it will, you're not going to be an overnight success. Raised with superheroes and comic books, and also musical theater and the space program. She was always involved in theatre, and always writing her own plays. There are people who have your best intentions at heart, but they still want you to try to be realistic. She has been in jobs where her heart wasn't in it. And she could tell because she would just come home all the time exhausted. Because she’s putting in all that energy for something that doesn't make her happy. E273 - Holli Shan - How to talk with other beings
In this episode, I get to speak with a TEDx speaker, Holli Shan. I had the opportunity to attend TEDx Ashburn my first attendance ever to such an event. It was also the very first TEDx in Ashburn with a growing community of speakers their first-ever and she was one of the first speakers to speak about her passion and what she's been doing with her life. She comes from a background of animal communication and has experienced with human communication, which she then translated to just, you know, basically, she's an animal whisperer. And listening to her story. And during her journey, I was just totally blown away. Our Guest Holli Shan LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/hollishan Website: compassionspeaks.com  (Company Website) Twitter: HolliShan Hacks to take Away She became an animal communicator because she wasn't completely understanding her own pets. Gravitated towards animals more so than other people. When someone is able to solve their own problem and also has that passion for this thing that they do, then they can go out and bring it to a worldwide stage. Her mission is to bridge the gap of understanding between people and their animal companions. Because once we can bridge that gap, we can have a happier home. You can never really open a door gracefully by battering it down. It's like, you can't beat the point into someone else's head. If someone is that rigid, you have to at least give them the invitation to walk through that door. It's definitely been an incredible journey working with the animals, and just working with them, and the whole thing of also getting to working with yourself, because there's a whole evolution that goes on and working within the species. Trauma is anything that could have happened, anything that caused enough of a shock, anything that caused a terror. When you're working with your animals when you're dealing with your animals. If you're having a hard time, it is okay to be honest with them, because you're coming from an authentic place, and they're willing to work with you there. ——Connect Here!—— You can find Hacks & Hobbies on these popular social media networks: Facebook: fb.com/hacksandhobbies LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hacksandhobbies Instagram: instagram.com/hacksandhobbies Twitter: twitter.com/hacksandhobbies or through our website: hacksandhobbies.com

E272 - Kris Macchiarola - How to create a humanized company and leaders.
In this episode, we get to speak with Kris Macc. She's a speaker, author and consultant, with an upcoming book coming out hashtag no approval needed. She helps corporations and companies be better emotionally equipped to deal with or have a good way of a balance with employees and having that emotion because a lot of the times companies feel like they are robotic. E271 - Mark Metry - How to become an evolved version of yourself.
In this episode, we get to speak with Mark Metry host of humans 2.0 podcast, his podcast has been featured on Forbes, Huffington Posts, Inc, and listed in the top 20 and growing podcasts for 2019 on the NASDAQ. And I've had the privilege of connecting with him back in 2018. September, have been following his journey and engaging with him on LinkedIn and Facebook. And this dude is the genuine deal, man. He's got it. I love it. And I'm so happy and excited to bring him onto the podcast.  Our Guest Mark Metry LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/mark-metry Website: markmetry.com  (Personal Website) , markmetry.com/humans-2-0-podcast  (Podcast) Twitter: VUDreamOfficial Hacks to take Away With the usage of technology and the different advancements, we have the capacity to expand our minds and evolve in ways that are only captured in dreams and movies. When you gain more energy, that enables you to experience life on many different other dimensions that then enable your mind to give you the possibility that there was something more for you. The number one thing you have to do is take responsibility. The second thing you should do is take action. Number three is just finding a way. That's an endless like, that might seem overly simple to somebody, but that's all you need. If you got in an accident, it's still your responsibility. It's not your fault, if you had left five minutes earlier, you wouldn't be in an accident. And take action. Change your state, and then your mind will automatically make that a habit. So all you gotta do is change your state and you immediately in that new state of mind that you want to be in to move forward. It doesn't matter where you are, doesn't matter what you're doing. If you view it as important enough, and you prioritize it, you've got to just find a way to do it. Donald Souza quoted “mental toughness is waking up every single day and doing the same thing.” And there's definitely a point where that can be a bad thing. E270 - Monday Breakdown Week 27
Welcome back to another Monday breakdown, it's week #27 and we’re heading towards the end of the year. Summer has started off pretty good. But I have no idea where all of these rains are coming from. I mean seriously questioning the seasons right now.  We had a jam packed week of some really awesome conversations with our guests on the podcast starting with Ashely Ann Jones on Tuesday as she walks us through how to use social media to grow your business. Rob Pearson talks about how to market, build and work on your business, Tom Malloy details and gives us a low down on how to approach and close investors for your film, with having raised over 25 million and an author of BankRoll, he knows whats up. Then Lila Smith gives us a sneak peak into her journey and how to say things better with ways to craft an accurate message for your audience. This week is full of some of the biggest names in podcast and voiceover, with experts that can communicate with our pets and an inspiring author and speaker telling us how you don’t need any approval to go get what you want. E269 - Lila Smith - How to say things better and get your messaging accurate.
In this episode, we get to chat with the fabulous Lila Smith, she started a brand new way of thinking and messaging platform called, say things better. For the first time ever she talks about her journey that’s not available on any other podcast. The story of Lila Smith as she goes from Theater to Coaching to developing a system that helps you say things better. So come back on Friday to check out Lila’s episode and learn to say things better. Our Guest Lila Smith LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/lilasmith Website: instagram.com/lilalasagna/  (Personal Website) , saythingsbetter.com  (Company Website) Twitter: lilalasagna Hacks to take Away Collaborations are the milestones, the stepping stones to bigger and better things. The collective wisdom is sometimes easier to hear than the wisdom in our heads like you probably knew about stuff you could have been focusing on. But to hear a whole group of people reinforcing it. That's really powerful. Everything happens for a reason and the opportunities that are in our life or put there whether it's by God, or by chance. We all have one life, and lots of different pieces of experience that might seem desperate, they might seem like they're all over the place but we each are the through-line in our story. it almost doesn't matter what the words are through this part of it. it's just the way you're going to make someone feel with your communication. So being intentional about those things. If you make your voice go higher here and then lower here, it will sound more interesting. If you want to have an impact on someone, if you want to have an influence, at that moment, you have to be intentional this way about your communication.

E268 - Tom Malloy - How to find, approach & close Investors for your film.
I get to speak with Tom Malloy. He's an actor, writer and producer. I had the opportunity to attend his workshop at the VIP film and TV summit here in Northern Virginia. And I learned a lot of amazing things about the movie business, especially from the production side of things. Tom has raised over 25 million dollars on indie films over the years and in this episode he talks about his experience into film making and his journey. He's the author to Bankroll the book. Our Guest Tom Malloy Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ActorTomMalloy Instagram: tommalloy Twitter: TommyMalloy Websites: trickcandle.com / imdb.com/name/nm0540176 / tommalloy.com / glasshousedistribution.com / tommalloycomedy.com Hacks to take Away If you're really committed, you should start taking those steps. And you know, making your own movie starting to play, sooner or later thaT you realize, Oh, crap, that's all I'm doing. And now you're 100% in the movie business. And that's a great feeling beautiful. Planning is always the key to future success or future, that if you had more of an idea first going in, maybe it wouldn't have got so it changed up. I started reading books and PDFs and playing and playing and playing. Now that was 2009. It says, and now it's almost 10 years later. And it's like, every tournament I walk into, I'm considered one of the top players one. And it's like, I won the Reno Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational two years ago, that's the one I used to host. What I love about it is that I played a lot, many celebrities, and people respect me now. Because here it is. If you would see me at first, but I'm playing and I had no idea what I was doing to now completely different stories. A tip for anybody is to make something that's really funny. And hopefully, it'll capture the Zeitgeist and get in front of the right people. Life would be an interesting one. And now the problem with that, it was always kind of a fun game to play. But the problem with the game of life was that if you had to follow certain paths. I enjoy living and the adventure of new things every day and so I'd say that what I would choose is probably your life for games.

E267 - Rob Pearson - How to market, build and work on your business.
We get to talk with a good friend, Robert Pearson. I met Rob Pearson, back at work at web visible This was many, many years ago. And we stayed connected over the years. I noticed that he’s running an awesome company working on some of the concepts that I myself aspire to some day. We get to talk about marketing, building business, and the difference between working in the business vs on the business. You can get in touch with Rob over at Rareview.com. And through his social media: "80% of our lives should be giving back" Our Guest Rob Pearson LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/robertpearson/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/pearson17 Twitter: https://twitter.com/robsreason Hacks to take Away Launched a company with his brothers called Tad to Ben, which was a full social network for tattoo enthusiasts. He was able to excel because he loves the work that he does. But the structure of the corporate world never really fit for. How I looked at innovation and how I looked at the things that motivated him and how he wanted to move forward in his career. Getting a little bit of that entrepreneurial bug early on, kind of let in, in kind of seeing the other side of it, the experience in the corporate world side of it. As we all know, in the agency world, working with clients has its own different challenges. But when you're your own boss, it's a whole different experience. So we had a really good treasure trove of clients, we could go after and really scale-out the marketing and brand side of our house, the Creative Advertising piece. And so you had built itself up to be pretty great and have a pretty great reputation. I didn't want to spend 20 years at a company getting paid to not do the work that I was super passionate about. Because I think building connections to moving forward is first to brand essential, especially when you're a freelancer or when you're running your own business. ——Connect with Hacks & Hobbies Here!—— You can find Hacks & Hobbies on these popular social media networks: Facebook: fb.com/hacksandhobbies LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hacksandhobbies Instagram: instagram.com/hacksandhobbies Twitter: twitter.com/hacksandhobbies or through our website: hacksandhobbies.com

E266 - Ashley Ann Jones - How to use social media to grow your business.
We get to speak with Ashley Ann Jones. She's a professional speaker, a social media strategist, a business builder, an award-winning event designer, she has been using social media to grow her audience to grow her business. And to make an impact in the world. I got to meet her through LinkedIn. And I really liked what she was doing with social media strategy. Our Guest Ashley Ann Jones LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/kingashleyann Websites: AshleyAnnsEvents.com  (Company Website) , ashleyannsevents.com/apps/blog  (Blog), bit.ly/KingAshleyAnn  (Products & Services) Hacks to take Away I earned a few hundred bucks while I'm still in college. But that's the first time the little light bulb went off inside of my brain that I could get paid to do something that I was just naturally good at, and that I actually enjoy. I was spending 40 $50,000 a month, which is relatively small when you think about advertising. But when you're just starting out, that's a lot of money. So I was doing all of this stuff and I was getting cons but it was like very inconsistent. I have been taking these little classes online and learned a little bit about email marketing and stuff like that. But I still hadn't connected the dots of how that would work for me. Facebook cost me absolutely no money. I've been spending thousands of advertising and nothing had.I wouldn't get anything consistent. So really just kind of sparked it to really make me start diving deeper into social media marketing is like 10 years ago. I started establishing myself more as a resource online. So instead of just trying to showcase my work, which I would always show my word, I would just start basically storytelling before it became a thing. Content marketing is a big thing. It wasn't just to start showing people like my room or what things look like before. And if you can start the process of being consistent and kind of putting a little bit of structure to your content, you will get a gigantic return, because it's all about establishing yourself as a resource at the end. -- Connect with Hacks and Hobbies Here -- You can find Hacks & Hobbies on these popular social media networks: Facebook: fb.com/hacksandhobbies LinkedIn: linkedin.com/company/hacksandhobbies Instagram: instagram.com/hacksandhobbies Twitter: twitter.com/hacksandhobbies or through our website: hacksandhobbies.com

He wrote a fantastic book: called "Hourly Billing is Nuts" back in 2016. And he's got a great podcast called ditching hourly. I absolutely love what he's talking about, I felt that same pain, living in a world where you are masked as an hourly employee, rather than using your mind to do the job that you brought in to do, instead, you are counted in as a worker using your hands. E260 - Monday Breakdown Week 25 - Epic 64-Mile bike ride adventure inside
Welcome back to another Monday breakdown, it's week #25 that means we have 27 more weeks to go in 2019. We're so close to the middle of the year! I still can't believe half the year is almost over. We've celebrated the longest day of the year on Friday, June 21. But if you live in Washington DC, the latest sunsets will start on the day after the solstice the 22nd.  The longest day also brings an essential question to light "What is the Stonehenge" Que the song from Stonehenge by Ylvis. It is a marvelous prehistoric monument built with Huge stones weighing over several tons.  There we have it the longest day of the year, so many more days and weeks to go. Lets recap on who you got to listen to last week on the podcast: Shelley Allen told us about how to organize our thoughts before we start to write our book. Quentin Allams discussed the dedication of our life's story to build our brand awareness. Falguni Katira gave us tips on how she helps gain confidence when going back to work after spending time raising our children. And finally, Andrew Katers delved into the inner workings of what it takes to be an actor, martial artist, and extremely humble.  The trailer to John Wick HEX looks impressive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nEwjqisgGY and if you're so inclined pre-order the game for your PC or MAC: https://epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/johnwickhex/home A lot of you guys might've seen him in a favorite show where he was a prince, others have seen him saving the world one way or another. From the historic west to the futuristic time traveling to save the world. Or by fighting alien bad guys by giving them a little sneeze and infiltrate their defense mechanism. He's taught us the true meaning of finding happiness through struggle and by giving up his organs as he meets his potential donors. I mean the list can keep going on. But he's been in one part or another in your life. He's a father of two and a husband to a lovely woman. I'm sure you've probably figured out who this man was that came in my dreams. Listen to the episode to find out who it is!
