Being Seen with Hagar’s Heart

Being Seen with Hagar’s Heart

By Jennifer Garton Jones

We all want to be seen for who we are: unique and special; respected for our differences; seen, valued, and loved. We have our idea of HOW we are seen or how we WANT to be seen. Sometimes those 2 things do not add up.

Our worth is sometimes found in the wrong places, leading us into crisis. However, it is from those turning points that we find out no title will ever define what we were meant to be.

As we learn, grow, and move through life, we become SEEN.

The Being Seen podcast shares testimonies of how going beyond what the world sees, we find out who we were meant to be.

Episode 4 Grief Redeemed: Cami Eytcheson

Imagine a life as it should be, following the plan, and suddenly faced with an incomprehensible situation. At age 14, Cami’s mother was diagnosed with cancer. Four years later, her mom passed away. As she began to deal with the pain, she turned away from the faith she was raised with and sought out worldly options to heal her grief.

At 34, with no time to prepare, Cami lost her father. In the middle of all the hurt, Cami was able to see her life as beautifully redeemed. Her loving God pursued her and brought her back to a new understanding of who He is.

Listen as Cami tells her story of how focusing on the world for her healing led her to a beautiful faith.

Wanderers

Wanderers

JRR Tolkien said in a famous poem, "Not all who wander are lost." The Israelites wandered for 40 years, on a journey that should have taken 11 days. What took so long? God knew. God planned. God saw them through. Wanderers sometimes can take the longer journey; however, God is right there with them.

Fulfilled

Fulfilled

Are you living a life fulfilled? How do you categorize fulfillment? Meeting family needs. Meeting world needs. Fulfilling that obligation. Getting places on time. Saying YES. Completing the to do list. I see the importance of completing these commitments, yet something has been pulling me, alerting me, on the inside. But what's been going on in the inside, is going to get in the way of fulfilling my life commitments. So I get to choose: living the fulfillment of the world or patiently waiting to be fulfilled?

Beauty From Ashes: How God works through Us Everyday

Beauty From Ashes: How God works through Us Everyday

The day before his accident, Clayton lived (his words), "The best day ever!"
As the world tried to wrap their head around Kobe Bryant's helicopter crash, I remembered my friend Tracy, and how 3 years ago, she too, experienced when God's plan doesn't match up to yours. Tracy's world was rocked, as she lost her son, 2 months before his high school graduation. Clayton was more than special. God pulled on his heart strings at an early age and the gifts Clayton shared were honorable to the way we are called to live: Kind. Generous. Faithful.
Tracy shares with us in this episode, how something can be turned into beauty from ashes.
