About our Guest Birgitta Visser Birgitta Visser is the author of the book, BE-com-ing Authentically Me, a Soul Empowerment Coach, Light Language Healer and being Dutch, a bit of a bike messenger between the here and there delivering messages from the many Master Teachers integral to helping elevate the consciousness of humanity and the planet. She has often stumbled through the darkness of her own trauma, often walking through her own blistered hell, yet she soldiered on and to heal the demons that had taken up residence in the comfort of her own mind, she decided to take the holistic route, facing her many layers of pain head on. Birgitta hopes that people will awaken to what life is all about, unlocking their own potential and BE-com-ing authentically themselves.

She says, "The Universe is mental in nature, you are mental in nature, all that you create comes from the mental imagery of the mind, and thus one is the Alchemist of one’s own Creation.  Think what you wish to wish what you think and it shall be so.  We have been given the breath of life, don't squander it living merely on the surface of who you believe yourself to be, remaining within your own trauma, but deep dive into the hues of the beautiful soul that you are, letting go of all that weighs you down, resurfacing and returning to a love for ourselves and a joie de vivre for life."

How to Transform Yourself Through Music

How to Transform Yourself Through Music

Have you heard the myths about the healing power of music? Some believe that music can only soothe emotions, that it's only for relaxation, or that it can't really affect our physical health. Kevin Kraft will reveal the truth about the transformative effects of music on personal growth and healing.

Unlock the healing power

Music possesses the power to heal and transform. In this episode, Kevin Kraft shares how his personal challenges led him to discover the transformative power of music and sound. A profound experience at a concert illuminated the potential of music to bring about healing and his journey serves as inspiration for accepting adversities and turning them into unique gifts.

In this episode, you will be able to:

  • Unlock the healing power of music for personal growth.

  • Discover the sacred sound current and mantra for inner peace.

  • Explore the connection between chanting and self-discovery.

  • Experience the transformative power of sound and attention.

  • Embrace challenges as opportunities for personal growth.

About our Guest

Kevin Kraft is a musician, sound healer and children’s book author of Ohmmmmmmm. Kevin is the sounder and founder of Soundshala (www.soundshala.com), a unique mindfulness curriculum combining music, breathwork, movement and meditation to help achieve the mindful benefits of a sound yoga practice. This is evident in the soundscape of voice, gongs, crystal and Tibetan bowls, drums and other instruments that help us relax and release deeply into balance.

Kevin specializes in the following areas of mindfulness.

• Power Vinyasa

• Himalayan Kriya Yoga

• Yoga Nidra

• Intention Setting

• Gong Bath Meditation

• Kundalini Yoga

• Pranayama

• Chanting & Mantras

• Meditation

• Reiki / Energy Balancing

Instruments incorporated into the sound therapy practice.

• Gongs

• Crystal Bowls

• Tibetan Bowls

• Harmonium

• Flutes

• Drums/Rattle

• Kalimba

• Ukulele

• Voice

Kevin’s practice is focused on consciously accessing the inner teacher and increasing the level of our own personal awareness. These practices help to release the body's mental and physical layers of tension we so often deeply hold onto. Through the practices of cultivating our listening skills, we grow amidst both the noise and the silence of vibration. We seek to re-establish health and harmony by un-obstructing the flow of prana through the body's energy channels and connecting to our innate divine essence that is our natural authentic self.

Language Hacks to Better Your Mental Health!

Language Hacks to Better Your Mental Health!

Imagine you are stuck on a work issue and you are going over it endlessly in your head.  Finally, a colleague encourages you by saying, “the answer is fight around the corner”.  What if you actually got up and walked around the corner in your office and it unlocked some type of answer!

Our guest Alison Smith shares the power of mindful language use and how you literally use it to improve your state of mind.  So the next time someone tells you to “let’s take a step back” say yes and actually get up and take a step back.  The act of getting unstuck may be as simple as the language you use.

About our Guest

From Alison Smith, “Helping your guests see the wood for the trees! Especially when they feel stuck or don’t know what to do.

My unique, quirky perspective - using nature as a metaphor for our lives - allows me to help people in an unconventional way that they may not be used to, but which always gets results! For example, when you can't see the wood for the trees, the answer can almost certainly be found within the wood (and within your own inner landscapes!).

I have used the tools in my coaching and problem-solving toolkit for more than 20 years. My tools are also demonstrated in my book: 'Can't See the Wood for the Trees' and my podcast: 'Landscaping Your Life with Alison Smith'.

I am an experienced speaker, coach, and author who adds fun, laughter, joy, and connection into every conversation!”

About our Guest

Tina Davidson, a highly regarded American composer, creates music that stands out for its emotional depth and lyrical dignity. Lauded for her authentic voice, The New York Times has praised her “vivid ear for harmony and colors.”

Her memoir, Let Your Heart Be Broken, Life and Music from a Classical Composer, is available from Boyle & Dalton. Her memoir traces her extraordinary life in equally lyrical language, juxtaposing memories, journal entries, notes on compositions in progress, and insights into the life of an artist – and a mother – at work.

REVIEW

"Let Your Heart Be Broken is a consummate read in its entirety, exploring with uncommon sensitivity and poetic insight the fundamentals of love, forgiveness, and creativity”, and what it takes to emerge from the inner darkness into a vast vista of light, rooted in the life-tested truth that “we are, in the end, a measure of the love we leave behind.” (Maria Popova, The Marginalian)

About our Guest

Born into a family of healers, Harmony Kwiker (kw-eye-ker) started the practice of transcendental meditation at age 6. During this time, she glimpsed her future self and knew that she was here to be a healer, a teacher, and an author. Wanting to find a way to bridge the progressive healing techniques of her parents with traditional psychology, Harmony chose a graduate program with a strong foundation in social justice and a more holistic lens of clinical psychology.

Now a psychotherapist, author, and visiting instructor at Naropa University, Harmony teaches mindfulness-based transpersonal Gestalt counseling. She is also the founder of the Institute for Spiritual Alignment where she trains therapists and coaches to bridge the divide between traditional and spiritual transformation. In her first book, Reveal: Embody the True Self Beyond Trauma and Conditioning, Harmony vulnerably shares her story of transformation while simultaneously empowering readers to discover their truest selves. Her new book, Align: Living and Loving from the True Self is now available.

Building Mental Fitness One Compliment at a Time!

Building Mental Fitness One Compliment at a Time!

Can taking compliments improve your mental resilience? Can learning not to give someone the finger help conquer your negativity? Yes, according to our guest Colin C. Thompson.  In this episode, Colin will be your certified positive intelligence coach and take you on a journey to build mental fitness through small challenges.

3 Key Takeaways:

  1. Change small and change often - make minor adjustments frequently rather than huge changes all at once. Start with small "wins" to build momentum.

  2. Accept compliments fully - repeat back the compliment, agree with it, and say thank you. This builds self-esteem.

  3. Be mindful of triggers - notice what upsets you and consciously decide not to react negatively. See difficult people as opportunities to practice staying calm.

Bonus Content - It's not too Late: Tips to Get Your Health and Life Back on Track

Bonus Content - It's not too Late: Tips to Get Your Health and Life Back on Track

You asked and you wanted more of the conversation with Al Lyman. In his sixties and in the best shape of his life, he shares more wisdom on how to get healthy at any age.

Here are the top 3 takeaways from the bonus podcast content:

  1. Lifestyle choices have the power to overcome genetic predispositions. Al is living proof that with knowledge applied through nutrition, exercise, and reducing stress, you can thrive well beyond what your genes may predict.
  2. Having a sense of purpose and mission provides meaning at any age. Al exemplifies staying motivated and making an impact into his sixties. Retirement isn't an end if you feel called to share your gifts.
  3. It's never too late to make positive changes. Your body has amazing capabilities to heal and regenerate when cared for properly. Don't let age hold you back from living your healthiest, most vibrant life.

Al shares that we have more control over our health outcomes than we may believe. Genetics load the gun, but lifestyle pulls the trigger. With motivation and the right knowledge applied daily, we can transform our vitality at nearly any age. It simply requires the courage to change old patterns.

About our Guest

When Al Lyman was 25, he made a conscious decision to "die healthy." The phrase he used at the time was to "square the curve." Every day since then, he's made it his goal to learn how to create good health and vitality and then share what he's learned with others so they too might benefit. That journey led to him writing a book at age 62 titled Age Well and Feel Great: The Proven Path to Solving the Aging Puzzle.

Along his lifelong quest for good health and fitness and vitality, he's finished dozens of marathons including having a 2:39 Boston Marathon personal best, 9 ironman triathlons including 3 finishes at the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, numerous sports therapy and strength and conditioning certifications, as well as having owned and operated a gait analysis lab in partnership with a sports physician.

From overcoming being bullied and a near-fatal drowning at 10 years old, to overcoming PTSD and learning to swim at 36 years old, to transitioning from a career in music to being a business owner, to becoming an author, Al has learned firsthand the importance of failing forward, being a life-long learner, and never giving up. Above it all, every step of his journey has been focused on becoming truly healthy and aging well, so he could extend not only his lifespan, but more importantly, his healthspan. His ultimate goal is to be able to do what he enjoys with those who matter the most, right up until his last day. As his book attests, Al has always been passionate about sharing all that he’s learned with others.

And you get a chance to join me in doing a short exercise that hopefully is going to make your brain happier.  I set an intention for something specific and you can do the same!

About our Guest

Birgitta Visser is the author of the book, BE-com-ing Authentically Me, a Soul Empowerment Coach, Light Language Healer and being Dutch, a bit of a bike messenger between the here and there delivering messages from the many Master Teachers integral to helping elevate the consciousness of humanity and the planet.

Improving Your Personal and Work life with THIS

Improving Your Personal and Work life with THIS

Have you ever felt like your intuition sets you apart in the corporate world?

Meet Dana Shamas, a former investment banker who defied norms and embraced her unconventional thinking. Her journey takes an unexpected twist as she delves into the spiritual realm, combining it with her analytical background. Now, she's on a mission to help YOU tap into YOUR intuitive skills and unlock YOUR true potential. Get ready for a story that will leave you wondering: how can harnessing intuition be the key to our ultimate success?

In this episode, you will be able to:

  • Increase your happiness quotient by integrating intuition into your life

  • Develop intuition as a significant skill set

  • Bypass the skepticism and inhibitions that prevent the adoption of intuition at the workplace.

  • Grasp how to use intuition during meetings and presentations for a more impactful message delivery.

My special guest is Dana Shamas

We warmly welcome Dana Shamas, a beacon in the world of intuitive work and business strategy. With her roots firmly planted in the corporate world, having served at Goldman Sachs, Dana has navigated her path towards helping others tap into their own intuition to realize their full potential. Now, she employs her incredible energy and experience to empower individuals within the corporate environment to listen more to their inner voice and use it as a tool for improved performance and overall success.

From Dana ShamasI help leaders, healers, and changemakers discover their unique circuitry so they can hear their authentic voice and lead with intuition.

For the longest time, I used to think that my intuitive gifts made me…well…a little bit of an oddball.

It seemed like anytime I met someone—even a total stranger—I’d hear the words “wow…I’ve never told anyone that before!” For a while, I even thought that guiding people back home to themselves was my superpower.

But growing up, I learned I was too sensitive, too emotional, and I was better off trying to “fit in” so I could make it in the real world. It wasn’t safe for me to feel the feels and say what I felt to be true.

Eventually, I realized that my purpose in life wasn’t to lean into what the rest of the world was doing. My purpose was to help other people tap into their highest selves, so they can create a deeper connection to their true worth and identity, as well as their dreams and goals, so they can impact the world.

I work with C-Suite executives, new people and team managers, non-profit and social impact leaders, entrepreneurs, founders, and many other working professionals.
