Inspiration Point Podcast Series 2: Episode 6: Nina Joshi Ramsey - LifeWalla Extended

Inspiration Point Podcast Series 2: Episode 6: Nina Joshi Ramsey - LifeWalla Extended

We are grateful to Balance Consultancy (https://www.balanceconsultancy.co.uk/)  for sponsoring the entire 6 episodes of series 2.

Lifewalla might be someone who holds the key to life. Nina’s experiences certainly have shaped her to be that - going from being a loner introvert to outgoing extrovert when needed. Amongst her continuous learning she has a Bachelors in Computing; Masters in Creative Writing and a Masters level Postgraduate in Psychology, complemented by training in co-active coaching, stress management and other helping modalities.

She is now a writer (currently writing a sitcom pilot), trainer, events creator/producer, and stress management professional. Amongst other charities, she volunteered with Samaritans as a listener, trustee and trainer for prison listeners.  Nina grew up in Kenya to itinerant parents who’d travelled with work, including to Germany, Libya, UK and Kenya, with a child born at each location! She herself has travelled to almost 70 countries. After their home in Kenya was attacked during an attempted military coup, she arrived with her mother and teenage siblings to the UK, facing the normal racism migrants experience, while her father stayed behind to continue earning and supporting them.

Other challenges included recognising and coming out of toxic environments, and the illness and death of close family members including her parents, a big blow each time.  Working at Reuters, she rose quickly to Global Head of Projects for a subsidiary, and was mentored by senior leadership and some of the Board.

Her debut novel, Lifewalla, was inspired by survivors of the worst industrial disaster, the Bhopal Gas Disaster. During the Nepal Earthquake she was a digital volunteer with Standby Taskforce, where her solution-focused resourcefulness led to unusual teaming-up and the rescues of many people.  During the live event we will aim to have a short experience of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a tool Nina has used for more than 18 years. This last Episode of Series 2 is specially extended.

Ajay loves superheroes, from Batman and Spiderman to Luke Skywalker. He is a GP in Birmingham and the senior partner in one of the most innovative health centres in the region.

They have recently been nominated for a national parliamentary award for their use of technology during the pandemic and have led locally on the vaccination programme. In fact they were the first surgery to administer the vaccine in Birmingham. They are also ranked in the top ten surgeries in the Midlands for patient satisfaction and have an average google rating of 4.2. Ajay himself has been featured in The Times.

A far cry from being told when sitting his A-levels that he would never get into medical school. His dad died when he was 16 and he had thyroid cancer when he was 25. Despite these setbacks, or perhaps because of them, he is a superhero doctor.

Ajay loves travel, photography and board games.

Inspiration Point Podcast Series 2: Episode 1: Mel Byron - Confident Stand Up Comedian

We are grateful to Balance Consultancy (https://www.balanceconsultancy.co.uk/)  for sponsoring the entire 6 episodes of series 2.

Mel is a trainer and stand-up comedian, who passionately believes in joy, confidence and kindness being the keys to success in work and in life.

Mel’s 20 years in the book publishing industry taught her a lot about all of these and she witnessed both good leadership and, alas, some pretty bad leadership.

On leaving the industry, her first step towards helping others in unhappy work experiences was to create a one-woman comedy show about some of the iniquities of the modern workplace, which travelled to a number of festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe.

Whilst still working as a comedian, she has also transferred her skills and passion to bringing those elements of joy, confidence and kindness to her clients as a coach in confident speaking and in leadership skills.

However using his initiative he talked, debated and influenced his way onto the Pharmacy course. As a pharmacist running his own community pharmacy in Watford, one time while on holiday the shop was flooded. His staff looked after the situation, this is because he looked after his staff. As my older brother he has taught me leadership, compassion, respect and service. He introduced me to my love of badminton, table football, philosophy and reading and Bruce Lee movies.
