Derek and Koopdog, aka The Sweatpants General, discuss all sorts of things, like will the Tybo Rogers situation impact Kalen DeBoer, how much money did Mike Price lose by being fired by Bama and then coaching at UTEP, and how Koop wouldn't bat an eye if he saw Steve Belichick dumpster diving in the U-District.

Well it took the fellas a few minutes to get warmed up in this one (they spent the first 20 minutes complaining about the current state of college football). Derek, Joey and Woolley assess the state of Washington Football in the early stages of the Jedd Fisch era. The boys resisted the impulse to go down the Germie Bernard rabbit hole.

Derek, Joey and Woolley are reeling today as they try to make sense of Kalen DeBoer bolting for Bama. After just two seasons and a 25-3 record, DeBoer ain't here no mo! It's also clear that DeBoer coached the national championship game while in negotiations with Alabama. Suddenly, UW's super bright future proves to be a mirage as the team is gutted and adrift on the seas of mediocrity. Derek makes a half-hearted pitch for Pete Carroll as an emergency stop gap. Names like Jed Fisch and Keith Gilbertson pop up in the conversation. (We'll leave it to the listeners to discern whether we were serious or not). Fudgie was supposed to join us but never showed up. As we concluded the broadcast we went to do a buddy check to make sure Fudgepacker is doing okay.

Derek, WoolleyDoog, JoeEDangerously and guest Haie commiserate after Washington's disappointing loss to Michigan in the national championship game last night.

It's happening! Washington knocks off the playcalling genius and master of deception Steve Sarkisian and Texas to advance to the National Championship game vs Michigan! As the late Pup would said, "Holy fuckall!"

Derek and Koopdog (aka The Sweatpants General) get together for their annual Oktoberfest that this year became Decemberfest. They talked about the 2023 Huskies season, Michael Penix and the Heisman, Rome Odunze and the Biletnikoff Award, old battles with Greg Lewis, Koop's viral meme of Chris Petersen that rankled Auburn University's athletic department, as well as shout outs to Muhammad Ali, Gerry Cooney, Fudgie, Muttzen and SFGBob. (There's a motley group for ya).

Also of note, Derek did keep his promise to BananasNBlondes to play the notorious "Fancy Feast" Pup rant to start the show (since the Huskies beat Oregon). Derek finds the rant juvenile and distasteful and all we can say is that listener discretion is advised.

Joey is getting angry! Come join the fellas with special guest Doogles as we dissect the Apple Cup and look toward Friday night's Pac-12 Championship showdown between the Oregon Ducks and YOUR Washington Huskies. Joey goes off on several rants, WoolleyDoog issued a threat (which was edited out) and Doogles cited the moments during the Apple Cup when he was eyeballing the liquor cabinet. This episode is replete with Seinfeld references and we tried to get to all our listeners' questions.

Washington bid Oregon State adieu last night in Corvallis with a 22-20 win. Nobody knows when these two teams will ever play again. The Beavs move on to the Civil War game with Oregon, while Washington will take on the Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction Cougs in what might be the final Apple Cup ever this coming Saturday. The boys break it all down with special guest CFetters_Nacho_Lover. We also answer listener questions!

An explosive offense that made the needed plays against a tough, physical Utah team. A defense that gave viewers heartburn in the first half but somehow saved the day in the end. A remarkable head coach that suffuses positivity into his players regardless of circumstance. These are the 2023 Washington Huskies: 10-0 for only the second time in school history and headed to Corvallis for a showdown with 8-2 Beavlet.

Derek, Joey and WoolleyDoog enjoy the big win over USC. Of course, there were a couple of regressions where we complained about the refs and discussed the woes on defense. But a fairly upbeat podcast where we enjoy the 9-0 Dawgs. Admittedly, we failed to mention Dillon Johnson and his 256 yards rushing until late in the show, for which we apologized. When all looked lost, Santa Lanning gave the Huskies one last chance. Big Penix Energy took advantage of the situation and scored the game-winning TD. Now the Dawgs are 6-0 and its all blue skies and uplifting tailwinds for Washington.

The boys give their assessment of Washington's 43-10 win over Tulsa before turning their attention to Michigan State and its suspended coach Mel Tucker. Plus, your usual assortment of camaraderie and malarkey.

The boys talk about Washington's 56-19 win over Boise State yesterday at sunny Husky Stadium. The game featured Boise fans mooning the Husky crowd, physical play from Asa Turner and Dillon Johnson possibly being the reincarnation of Wayne Taulapapa. The show opens with AI Pup responding to the one time Stalin took three days off from Hardcore Husky and his concerns about going on his own sabbatical.

Even with our professional mics and sound equipment, we were no match tonight for the background noise and awful karaoke that competed with our football pod. We will find quieter surroundings in the future. We almost didn't post this episode but then I'd be facing some angry emails and you wouldn't want to answer my emails for a day, you just wouldn't.

The boys get together to talk Husky football, speculate on Jake Locker paths-not-taken, create a Mount Rushmore of Seinfeld side characters, and debate whether Brock Bowers would make a good name for a porn star.

The pod was a veritable halfway house this morning as guys were popping in and out during the show. With special guest haie and also Doogles was there in spirit. We talked a variety of topics but the core theme was how Memorial Day came and went without an announcement of UW leaving for the Big 10. The consensus on the show was that we'll hear that announcement by July 1st. Come hang out!

On this episode recorded Dec 31st, the boys look back at the Alamo Bowl and season that was. They also peer into the psyche of Texas fans as Longhorn Nation navigates the various stages of the Sark Grief Cycle and the inevitable realization that they've been sold a bill of goods. Somehow JoeEDangerously and WoolleyDoog hoodwinked Derek into recording a 2-hour podcast when everyone knows Derek hates talking on the phone for more than 20 minutes. In any event, The Dawg finish 11-2 and were the "Alamo Bowl Winners" according to ESPN, which couldn't break away from the game fast enough in order to show Iowa State basketball highlights.  Holy fuckall!  

Derek, WoolleyDoog and JoeEDangerously hang out on Christmas Eve morning, and name their award winners for 2022. Categories include biggest winners, biggest surprises, biggest disappointments, most concerning trends and most promising trends, among others. 

As Washington prepares for its Alamo Bowl matchup with Texas, the boys celebrate the news that Bralen Trice and ZTF will be returning to UW in 2023. Then they talk all kind of Husky football stuff, including wanting to beat Sark, reliving the defensive shitshow of the 2011 Alamo Bowl, rejoicing over Quinn Ewes anemic rushing stats, and mini dives into the 2010 Boise State Broncos, ASU Sun Devils and Arizona Wildcats. Also, the boys think its pathetic that Oregon's Bo Nix is being allowed to return for another season when he's already played four full seasons of college football. Oh, and Derek goes on a mini rant on how Andre Ware should have never won the 1989 Heisman Trophy. The show opens with a Cowboy Pup reading of an old rant. 

Derek visits with CoronaBruin about the late PurpleJ's experiences through the years at Hardcore Husky. Corona loves the Bruins and thinks they'll win their Sun Bowl matchup, even if he has no idea whom they'll be playing. He also reflects on meeting Derek at the Taki Tiki a few years back, and of old battles with posters like Pup and Thomas Fremont. There's even an homage to SECDawg. 

Michael Penix is returning for the 2023 season! Courtney Morgan is suddenly finding the golden touch with his NIL inquiries. UW finally reaching out to the Microsoft community to help fund NIL and get involved -- like we've been screaming and pleading for for ages. Things are happening and we're here to talk about it all.
