The HardRockCore Podcast Episode 7 MICHAEL GRANT of MICHAEL GRANT & THE ASSASSINS
Welcome to the HARDROCKCORE PODCAST, Episode 7 where I have my conversation with MICHAEL GRANT of MICHAEL GRANT & THE ASSASSINS Michael took time out of his busy schedule to talk about life as a father, The Beatles, Prince, finding a drummer, his influences for his new album, ALWAYS THE VILLAIN which comes out on July 10 on Frontiers Music, and a possible move back to NorCal and although people want drama, there is none here and we also discussed Michael playing all of the instruments on the album minus a few drum tracks from SHANE FITZGIBBON. The HardRockCore Podcast Episode 6 Matt McAndrew (SLAVES)
Welcome to Episode 6 of the HardRockCore Podcast This is a bonus episode as I felt this conversation with my guest today was very fluid and needed immediate service to the public with our conversation. Today my guest is MATT McANDREW who is the vocalist for the Sacramento based band currently known as SLAVES. The band just issued a statement on what the future holds with their name and Matt addresses this and discloses, like the statement, that it’s been in the making for some time now but there was no time like the present to let the public know. Matt was also a contestant on Season 7 of THE VOICE where he was the Runner Up and ADAM LEVINE was his coach and he learned a great deal from that experience and had a true friendship develop with Adam.   We also exchanged words on living in Silverlake, WaWa versus Dunkin Donuts, how he came to join Slaves and his first show in Manchester, England as well as some of the lyrical themes on the coming album, TO BETTER DAYS which was written and recorded within 45 days. The HardRockCore Podcast Episode 5 Michael Vampire (DEAD GIRLS ACADEMY/VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE) and Marty McCoy (THE LONELY ONES / BOBAFLEX)
the HARDROCKCORE PODCAST, Episode 5 where I have 2 interviews for you this week.  The first one is MICHAEL VAMPIRE of DEAD GIRLS ACADEMY who talks with me from his place in Hollywood and had a good conversation where he discusses his recent trip to Nashville to work with MALCOLM SPRINGER who has done work with MATCHBOX 20, FEAR FACTORY, CLUTCH, and I know him from when he did an album with LIQUID GANG who were managed by Paul Conroy and this was a great open dialogue and look forward to bringing Michael back again on this show. The 2nd interview you’re going to hear is with MARTY MCCOY of the band THE LONELY ONES but you probably know him better from his other band BOBAFLEX who has been around for over 20 years and we discuss many things happening in his world but most fascinating as when they decided to move on as The Lonely Ones, it’s not even been a year and they have an album completed, 3 videos, and ready to do their first live gig and purchased a vehicle for the road but can’t use it. Another great chat so please give it a listen. The HardRockCore Podcast Episode 3 Ruben Alvarez of UPON A BURNING BODY
Welcome to THE HARDROCKCORE PODCAST, Episode 3 where my guest is none other than the talented RUBEN ALVAREZ, guitarist for the Texan band UPON A BURNING BODY who are signed to Seek and Strike. UABB did a cover song a few years back of TURN DOWN FOR WHAT which featured ICE T on vocals and also in the video and Ruben talks about ICE being a cool guy and a Knowledge Gangster. A lot of good talk about IRON MAIDEN, touring with SLIPKNOT, SLAYER, and having to build their own stage each day on a tour when they first started as well as his upbringing, living in the country, being an aviation mechanic, and changing the overall message of the band. You will also hear a personal story about SLAYER, mentions of new albums from ELECTRIC MOB and SMACKBOUND, and a tidbit on CURRENTS. The HardRockCore Podcast Episode 1 David Ellefson Interview
Welcome to the HARDROCKCORE PODCAST, Episode 1 where my conversation/interview is with Heavy Metal Bass Legend from MEGADETH, DAVID ELLEFSON.  Although you know David from Megadeth, that was not the main topic of our conversation today as we spoke about the DAVID ELLEFSON YOUTH MUSIC FOUNDATION, SCHOOL’S OUT INITIATIVE, giving back, the POST MALONE cover he just released with his solo band, ELLEFSON fronted by his friend and business partner THOM HAZAERT as well as Dave’s upbringing, baking, how MIKE PORTNOY is almost child-like in his passion with music, and basically just having an open conversation about all things David Ellefson.  I can’t thank him enough for this conversation and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.  As always, Thanks for listening, enjoy the chat, and have an awesome day! Please note, the interview with David Ellefson was conducted on 5.18.2020 and the announcement of the tour postponement came 3 days after this was recorded.  And yes, there is even some talk about the pre-Megadeth days in how David and DAVE MUSTAINE set out to be the best band they could possibly be. Thank You for listening and you can find me at www.hardrockcore.net
