He is currently working in Cambridge as a Social Prescriber and is a volunteer walk leader for the Healthy You Wellbeing Walks initiative. Emma Tytherleigh (Cambridge Urban Fitness)
In our fifteenth episode we meet Emma from Cambridge Urban Fitness. Six years ago Emma decided to give up the day job and retrain as a personal trainer. Her love for a holistic approach to health and wellbeing had inspired her to take a new chapter in her life, one that inspires others to move more. In this episode we talk about the importance of starting an exercise journey, just getting those trainers on and getting out the door for a walk is a good place to start. Val Moore
In our fourteenth episode, we meet Val Moore in conversation about all things swimming. Val is a qualified open water swimming coach and an open water lifeguard. Although Val has always been active and got involved in lots of different sports including hockey and rugby in her youth, it wasn't until more recently she took the plunge and discovered not only a personal love of open water swimming but a passion for supporting others to experience the many benefits and joys of open water swimming whilst feeling safe and supported. Outdoor swimming has experienced a huge increase in popularity in recent years as more and more people want to experience the benefits for themselves. Becky Hair
In our twelfth episode, we meet Becky Hair. Becky is a respiratory physiotherapist at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge and an experienced swimmer, runner and cyclist. As well as excelling in her own training, Becky has an incredible passion for supporting others to get active and is a great advocate for women in sport. Becky is particularly interested in supporting more women into cycling, a traditionally very male dominated sport. Becky shares how she came to be involved in coaching and explains her role as an ambassador for Specialized and most recently her involvement with the new JoyRiders group in Cambridge.

Tim Ewbank
In our eleventh episode, we meet Tim Ewbank, the Chair of the University of the Third Age Cambridge, a charity dedicated to promoting lifelong-learning. The U3AC offers over 350 different courses each year for adults no longer in full-time employment. Courses range from more academic subjects to leisure and sporting activities, with plenty of variety to choose from. Tim shares how he first came across the U3AC and then got to be involved in the committee, explaining the importance for him to stay intellectually challenged and engaged once he had retired. Mary Twitchett
In our tenth episode, we meet Mary Twitchett. Mary is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at Arbury Road Surgery in Cambridge, she's also an age-group athlete and strength and conditioning coach. In 2018, just weeks after winning her age group category in the Los Angeles marathon by a whopping 11 minutes, she discovered a lump in her chest when stretching. Knowing not to ignore it, she was referred to the Breast Clinic at Addenbrookes who confirmed it was stage 3 breast cancer. In this episode, Mary shares how she handled her cancer diagnosis and the subsequent operations and treatment. Exercise has always played an important role in her life, and continues to do so in her treatment journey. Mary is incredibly passionate about encouraging others going through a cancer journey to get active, she set up the Cambridge arm of the 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer initiative which meets once a month at the Coldham's Common Parkrun and delivers regular bursts of joyful energy, inclusive exercise videos and all round optimism on her instagram @marytwitchett. Chris Lee
We are back after the summer and in our first episode of series 2 of the Healthy You podcast, we meet Chris Lee, an Army veteran, Personal Trainer and Group Exercise instructor for Cambs Bootcamps. Originally from Newcastle, Chris settled in Cambridgeshire after leaving the Army 3 years ago. Marlene Sharpe-Westwood
In our eighth episode of the Healthy You Podcast, we meet Marlene Sharpe-Westwood who is a specialist group exercise instructor working across Cambridge City and South Cambridgeshire distrcits. Marlene has been involved in Cambridge City's Exercise Referral service since day 1 back in 1996 and has decades of experience working with participants with a variety of long term conditions including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and stroke and cardiac rehabilitation. Marlene shares what is it that keeps her coming back year on year to work as an instructor and what she thinks is the magic ingredient to keep her class participants coming back too. Like for many others, the past year has been challenging for Marlene and in the episode she opens up about her experience of the pandemic and how it has given her a greater appreciation for what her clients are facing and the barriers they have to overcome to get fitter.

Anna Hollis

Anna has always struggled with her weight despite being a keen walker and having an active job. In the summer of 2018, she decided to try Slimming World. Anna has since lost an incredible 10 stone reducing her BMI from 42 to well within a healthy range. She has also taken up running and bootcamp and is currently training for her first marathon. Paul Boucher
In our fourth episode of the Healthy You Podcast we meet Paul Boucher, a Project Manager at Cambridge City Council. Paul sadly lost his wife Sue to cancer on Christmas Day 2019. Having struggled with his weight throughout his life, losing his wife prompted Paul to make some significant changes towards a healthier lifestyle. Paul shares how he developed a passion for walking during the first national lockdown period, discovering for the first time walking routes through the village where he has lived for years. In managing his grief, Paul benefited from the support of national bereavement charity, WAY: Widowed and Young. Wanting to give something back to the charity, in 2020 Paul set himself the challenge of walking 500 miles over 3 months which he completed, raising over two thousands pounds for WAY and losing over 3 stone in the process. In this podcast episode, Paul shares how he's found the journey and tells us about his latest challenge: walking 100km from London to Brighton this May. Rob Ellis
In our third episode of the Healthy You Podcast we meet Rob Ellis, the Founder of Cambridge Tennis Academy. Rob shares how he started playing tennis as a kid, going on to start coaching as a part-time job whilst studying at University.
