The New Roaring Twenties with Jessica Fellowes - Episode 43 | English
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused immense hardship over the past year and a half, but out of crises, opportunity arises, as our guest today knows from all the time she has spent steeped in 1920’s archives. This has given her a hopeful outlook for the 21st century, and we all need some of her perspective in our lives! Jessica Fellowes is an author of 14 books, 5 of which were Downton Abbey companion books, and several of which made it onto the New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller lists. Jessica has been writing for a long time, first as an employee and then as a freelancer, and she really loves her work (some parts more than others). Our conversation today covers a wide range of topics; from authenticity, to celebrity interviews, to the double-edged sword of ambition. Jessica also has a lot of wisdom to share around knowing your worth, not being taken advantage of professionally, and the benefits of planning backwards. Listen in today to get a glimpse into Jessica’s life; you’ll walk away with valuable insights. Key Points: Jessica talks us through her writing and editing process. Positive lifestyle changes that Jessica incurred as a result of her move from the country to the city. Challenges that lockdown presented to writers. Where Jessica’s interest in the between-the-wars era originated. How Jessica gains a deeper understanding of the era that she is writing about. The role that imagery plays in Jessica’s writing process. Advice from Jessica about how to approach authenticity in your writing. Parallels between the 1920’s and the 2020’s and Jessica’s thoughts about what our future might look like. Ways that the school system needs to change. Jessica’s stint as a celebrity interviewer, and how she feels about the experience. What Jessica wants her life to look like in 20 years time, and the value of planning backwards from there rather than the other way around. The double-edged sword of ambition. Jessica’s rule about payment, and the importance of honouring market value. Know your worth, especially as a woman. Elements that Jessica loves most about her work. Joy that Jessica’s dogs bring to her life. Advice from Jessica for humans in general, and women specifically. Quotes: “I like to build big image galleries of what I think my characters might have been wearing, what they might have looked like, what cars they were driving, what the street scene might have looked like.” — [0:10:17] “You have to bear in mind that there is no one true version of what happened in the past.” — [0:11:40] “I see the 2020’s as really being the beginning of how the 21st century is going to look. This is our opportunity to say, “This is how we want to do the rest of this century.”— [0:15:10] “Ambition is a good thing because it keeps you moving forward, but it can be a curse because you’re never satisfied.”— [0:23:57] “If you’re not getting paid in money you should be getting paid in something that is going to be of benefit to you.” — [0:26:39] Links:

Was gesunde Ernährung tatsächlich bedeutet erfahren wir in diesem Interview. Mindfulness at Work - Episode 38 | English
Mindfulness is a powerful practice that supports your health, wellbeing and intuition in every area of your life. Incorporating mindfulness into your working day facilitates significant shifts whenever things feel ‘off and out of control’. Tight deadlines, tedious administrative tasks, difficult bosses, demanding clients, etc. can create a whirlwind that makes it feel impossible to stay grounded and connected to your wellbeing and inner peace. For many people, work is just a series of demands they have to tick off, which keeps them from taking mindful breaks until late into the evening, when they are too exhausted to do any kind of self-care practice. In this episode, I share tips on how to incorporate mindfulness into your work day by putting your attention on 3 core areas. This practice will support you to anchor to the present moment, even when the chaos of life and career pulls you out of balance.

Demystifying Energy Healing with Sushma Sagar - Episode 37 | English
Emotional buildups cannot be fully healed by conventional means alone. Releasing past trauma is a matter of mind, body, and spirit, which is why this connection cannot be ignored. Thankfully it is becoming more mainstream due to people like Sushma Sagar who is on a mission to demystify energy healing and take it out of the ‘weird’, into the weekday. Sushma is the founder of the London-based energy healing clinic The Calmery, and she is also the author of Find Your Flow. She joins us on the show to help us learn more about energy healing and the work that she does in the field of reiki. Sushma gives listeners a brief introduction to the practice of reiki as well as the seven chakras. She speaks about the role of the chakras as energy centres that develop at different stages in our lives. Using an energy healing practice like reiki, we can tune into our chakras to take stock of ourselves and begin to release blocked emotion. She gives us some practical first steps about how to tap into this universal energy to heal ourselves. This is a practice that we can start doing at home without any training because it is a latent skill that all humans possess! In this conversation, we also explore Sushma’s own journey from the corporate world into the field of energy healing and how it was a slow process of moving toward self-acceptance and authenticity. Join us and take a step closer to becoming more conscious of your energy flow and its healing powers! Key Points: Sushma weighs in on her mission to demystify energy healing. Basic tips for people who want to know more about reiki and incorporate it into their healing. The need to attune ourselves to a universal energy and things that stand in the way of this. Practical steps for people at home to practice reiki and heal themselves. The history of energy work beginning in different ancient cultures. Sushma’s take on the seven energy centres in our bodies and why they are important. Becoming more aware of the emotions in your body so you can process them and they don’t build up. The science behind how emotion causes cell inflammation leading to disease. Life as a series of lessons; reframing life from something that happens ‘to’ us to ‘for’ us. The heartbreaks Sushma experienced that led her down the path of discovering energy work. How we often don’t get over the unconscious sides of traumas without energy work. Freedom in the form of moving to a place of compassion for people who have hurt you. Sushma’s journey from being a corporate woman in the fashion world to founding The Calmery. A final piece of advice from Sushma: don’t take things personally because it’s rarely about you! Quotes: “Reiki is a practice where you need to become attuned first, and the attunement simply means opening yourself up to be a channel for a universal energy to be able to flow through you.” [0:05:02] “The thing about channeling energy is you stand back and allow it to happen and that itself is the skill, to just not question.” [0:07:36] “In our bodies there are seven energy centers and they are portals and central spots where the energy comes together.” [0:015:19] “You can clean your energy without being reiki attuned. You simply notice if your emotions are heavy and then you do whatever you like to do to release them.” [0:25:34] Links: The Calmery Website: The Calmery on Instagram: Sushma on Twitter:

Book Reading (part 2/2): The Queendom Within by Heidi Hauer - Episode 32 | English
In this episode I am reading step 17 and 26 from Part 3 (PREPARE FOR THE SHOW) and Part 4 (PLAY IT FOR REAL): Part III: Prepare for the Show Being yourself when you’re alone is nice, but if that’s the only time you’re authentic, it’s neither sustainable nor will it substantially change your life.To build an inner world and an outer world that you actually want to live in, your actions have to match your aspirations. In this part, you’ll start to understand how your current relationships and environments are influencing you. You’ll see who and what is taking up your energy or lowering your confidence, and where your behaviour isn’t exactly mirroring your true self or wants. This is all about standing firmly in your power. Are you ready? Of course you are! Part IV: Play it for Real While Part III was mainly about awareness, Part IV will guide you to step up and step out as your true self into the world. This is where you’ll learn about boundaries and protection. There are two reasons why this part is a make-or-break for the entire programme. First, you need to shine your own light again. If you are around people who dim your light, whether they’re conscious of it or not, you’ve prob- ably started to only share the smallest version of yourself with the world in order to stay safe. In this case, shining your light, even though others might not always approve of it, is the learning opportunity here. Second, you need to learn to sustain that light. Building up a life that is fulfilling and nurturing takes time and focus, especially at the beginning of your conscious creation journey. Being clear about your boundaries as you engage and interact constructively with others is not a task for one weekend, it’s a life-long practice. So, in Part IV, you’ll be doing what can often feel scary: being seen and heard as you set clear boundaries. Be brave, be loving and be kind to yourself as you venture out into a new life. These steps won’t be easy, but neither is hiding in the shadows. I would even say, it’s easier to take little coura- geous steps over the next few weeks than to let yourself be boxed or pushed by others into a life that doesn’t feel like yours. If you do the exercises, please reach out to me and let me know how it goes.

How to review 2020 and set goals for 2021 - Episode 26 | English
Stop. Recharge. Reset. Ready? Go! This time last year no-one of us had imagined the events that unfolded in 2020. Never before was the quote by John C. Maxwell so relevant for all of us than today: Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. In this short but sweet episode, I talk about the need to let go of any action focused reviews of what you achieved in 2020, and instead the concept of bringing a gentler approach to reflecting upon what you experienced and learned. I give a brief overview of how I approached and integrated my experience over the last 12 months, while offering some reflective pointers that will help you to recognise the joy within the chaos, while realigning and moving forward with self-love and intention.

Tired of being a good girl? Kasia Urbaniak on how to unbind yourself - English | Episode 13
In this immensely engaging conversation, I’m talking with Kasia Urbaniak, the founder and CEO of The Academy - A School of Power for Women, and author of the book Unbound: A Woman’s Guide To Power. Kasia brings a truly unique approach to her work, which is teaching women the foundations of power and influence and is supporting them to step into leadership positions in their relationships, families, workplaces and wider communities. Over the course of nearly 20 years, she has worked as professional Dominatrix, practiced Taoist alchemy in one of the oldest female-led monasteries in China and obtained dozens of certifications in different disciplines, including Medical Qi Gong and Systemic Constellations. In this episode Kasia reveals some of the invisible but significant ways that ‘good girl’ conditioning shows up in our life, and how this can lead to so much of a woman’s energy going into physical, emotional and energetic labor in a very unconscious way. The result? Often exhaustion, frustration, feeling unseen and unacknowledged and not having rightful time to tend to passion projects and personal goals. We discuss the meaning of power, and Kasia offers very interesting insights into how woman can use their voice to respond to power imbalance and recover their sovereignty and decision making capacities. Along with many other fascinating and exciting explorations, we also talk about the pitfalls of aspiring to be selfless, and how being selfish in a way that feels good actually better equips us to see the positive impacts we desire.
