The Grind IS NOT sexy...

The Grind IS NOT sexy...

I think more than 90% of the time the day to day grind is mundane as shit, BUT it is also where 90% of the results come from. Sexy in this episode relates to being attractive while also exciting. You can call it the grind, the hustle, or the process, no matter what you call it, we often times convinced that it's supposed to hold your excitement and motivation but the reality is the day to day effort that is required for long term success can be mundane and boring. It's often after you lose that initial excitement that you find out how invested you truly are. So reset your expectations and know that it's once the motivation and excitement fades that you will need to show what you're made of.

Self Awareness in Action | Self Improvement Series

Self Awareness in Action | Self Improvement Series

Simply put; what’s the point of having self awareness if you can’t use it to your advantage. Knowing yourself, truly knowing yourself, provides the groundwork to make short term and long term goals that makes sense for you. You can’t deny who you are and think you can build trust and habits. So now that we have a better understanding of ourselves we should integrate that into our mindset and expectations of ourselves and the world around us.

Getting To Know Yourself | Self Improvement Series

Getting To Know Yourself | Self Improvement Series

This episode hits home for several reasons. Getting to know myself is one of the biggest reasons I was able to lose 30lbs last year and leave a toxic relationship. It is a never ending journey that I have stopped fighting. I am always amazed at how something so simple has had such a big effect and I want to share some of that enthusiasm with you guys today. I am not a psychologist or psychiatrist, just another human being who believes she is a work in progress and who has started loving and trusting herself, and it’s rooted in getting to know myself, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Why Are You Seeking Validation | Self Improvement Series

Why Are You Seeking Validation | Self Improvement Series

This is the start to a series I am doing this month, the focus being on creating a more resilient mindset and learning to trust yourself. Validation seeking is much more prevalent, most likely due to social media but caring how others feel about you is natural. Yet, when what others think about you is ALL you focus on and care about, it can lead you to live an empty life that seems never enough. We have to find a balance and understand three key realities in order to strike that balance and that is what I will be outlining in this episode.

Dating While Being A Mom | Michelle Thibeault | Millennial Mommy

Being a mom can be a real struggle, so add in being a single mom, and throw her into the dating world of today. That is the case for special guest, Michelle Thibeault. She is the creator of ‘Hot Mess Goes To Oz’, a blog about single mom life and travel. Her sense of adventure began with solo trips around the world and has now transformed to being a single mother of a one year old boy. In this episode, we will discuss the hurdles of dating while being a single mom. I wouldn’t consider myself a single mother because my ex-husband is very much still in the picture, yet I find myself struggling with the same issues as Michelle when newly entering the dating scene.

My Eating Disorder and Recovery | A Ritual For Emotional Balance

I think the title says it all. I will be sharing my experience with an eating disorder and how creating a ritual allowed me to recover from it. I am in no way suggesting that this is a cure all for an eating disorder or disorder in general. I am simply sharing how I created a practice that was critical in my overcoming an eating disorder. People may not understand how important balance is until they find themselves in an emotional rut that they can’t seem to get out of.

Give Up On Your Goals To Achieve Your Dreams

Give Up On Your Goals To Achieve Your Dreams

Most of us have a number of goals but sometimes those goals are not really serving us, instead they can hold us back. Our assumption that there is only one way to get closer to our dreams can often prevent us from taking further steps to achieve those dreams because we assume we can’t begin if X, Y and Z haven’t happened. In this episode I will talk you through a process that will help you line up your goals with your ultimate dreams.

Feeling Lonely Vs. Being Alone | Minisode

Feeling Lonely Vs. Being Alone | Minisode

It's that season again, people either feel a sense of loneliness or togetherness due to the holidays and change in weather. To be honest, it can happen at any time, and anywhere that you start feeling a sense of loneliness. I am not a psychiatrist or a therapist but I am a fellow human being who has noticed a few things about being lonely. One of them is it's hard to fine people you truly feel that understand you if you don't understand yourself. Some of us can more readily discover who we are in social settings but some of us can't. I think we must remember that being alone and feeling lonely don't always go hand in hand. There are times when you need to be alone to get closer to figuring out your greater sense of purpose in life. It can get lonely on the road to self-discovery but it is only momentary as you will often find people on that same path as you. Reach out if you are feeling lonely, let's chat!

Some people call it nosey but truthfully I think it's only natural to want to explore the different aspects of someones life who you admire. Finding A Life Partner 2018 | Pessimistic Lover

Okay so to be quite honest I am a total pessimist in this episode but I have the tendency to be when it comes to "romantic" relationships. I dive into why I think it's difficult to find a life partner in today's social climate. There isn't one reason and obviously becomes more complex the deeper you dig. Honestly just more of a rant so thank you for listening.

Millennial Mommy | I love you too but...

A generation that is obsessed with "likes", do we worry too much, as parents, about being liked??? As Cookies Kid once said "I love you too, but I dont like you all the time," my feelings exactly kid. Growing pains means you won't like your kid and your kid won't like you 50% of the time. That's ok because it means you're more likely raising children who will turn into adults that you do like. This episode includes an audio clip from viral video “I don’t like you mommy” by channel: Cookies Kid , audio is used for commentary purposes.

The Generation of Online Dating | Ceisley

The Generation of Online Dating | Ceisley

More and more people are beginning to explore the online dating world with apps like Tinder, OkCupid and Bumble. I don't plan on doing any online dating and yet I found myself completely intrigued by the stories of people's experience with it. Ceisley is the creator and host of "Shoulda Swiped Left", a podcast in which she shares her experience with online dating in a comedic and relatable way. I had many questions for Ceisley, from "how important are second opinions?" to "does it make you more picky and judgemental?". We even dove into some of the racial prejudices that make their way into the world of online dating. Overall, there were insightful observations and a lot of laughs throughout our conversation. Listen, Learn, Laugh and Enjoy!
