The 4 Pillars of Goal Achievement with Coach Mike Millner
Today on Far From Perfect, I have for the second time Coach Mike Millner on what it takes to change. He owns Pop Nutrition and has a podcast called Mind Over Macros. We are going to dive into his 4 Pillars of Goal Achievement, which are
1. Physical
2. Willpower
3. iOS
4. Future Self
I recently heard Mike speak at a coaching event and this was by far my favorite one. I also believe that when someone has actually gone through all the things(chronic diet, body dysmorphia, orthorexia) you know they've done the work. We talk about both of our journeys and we go into detail about the 4 Pillars above. When it comes down to it, the nutrition and the working out are the easy part, its the mindset shift. When the conditions stay the same, but your behavior changes then there is progress! Celebrating when bad shit DOESN'T happen.
I think you guys are going to love this as much as I did. You can find Mike by listening to his podcast - Mind Over Macros(whatever platform you listen to your podcasts) and he's on instagram @coach_mike_millner

Why 1500 Calories Is Better Than 1200, But Still Not Enough
I cracked the code! I realized why so many women are eating 1500 calories and I'm spilling the beans.Yes, 1500 is better than 1200, but it's still not enough friends.
In this episode I cover:
What maintenance is and why it is so important to spend time eating at your maintenance level calories
Why you might *think* you're only eating 1200 or 1500 calories, but you're not.
What you need to do to actually maintain in maintenance.
Why I am prioritizing teaching about maintenance over perimenopause.

The Divisive Nature of Nutrition, Fitness and Health with Joe Eiben
Today on the podcast I'm talking with my friend Joe Eiben, this is his fourth time on the podcast. We are talking about polarity in fitness and nutrition. I just love Joe and his perspective on all things. Joe is a Psychotherapist, Professional Coach, Holistic Nutritionist, Writer and yogi.
We dive into how our cultural is living with anxiety and overwhelm as a base and we can't exhale. We are at war from an internal and external standpoint and it's due to a lack of meaningful connection with others. We can't eliminate it, we have to figure out how to work around it. We have to have a lot of patience and grace with ourselves.
We talk about steps to help ourselves and the first is acceptance of yourself, second is to act like the person you want to be, and most importantly try not to over complicate things. This is an amazing conversation, Joe is so insightful and knowledgeable and I think you're going to love it and relate to it. When we know better, we can do better and embrace what we can control and have a say in.
If you want to work with Joe, the best place to do so is his website and you can find that HERE. (joeeiben.com)

Her main goal is to help you thread the needle. Everyone's body is different!
80% of people with autoimmune are women and there are lots of theories as to why and she talks us through a few of those.
In terms of nutrition, Food is not the enemy its our ally! We need to create and support a good foundation to work up and new flash its not about eating less!

Hysterectomy Recovery & Women's Health with Dr. Jocelyn Wallace
Jocelyn is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, pelvic floor specialist and Level 2 Crossfit Trainer. She specializes in helping women get back to fitness after a hysterectomy, myomectomy or endometriosis excision without pain, prolapse or peeing themselves. Jocelyn was inspired to do this work through her own experience with uterine fibroids. Having 3 open abdominal surgeries between 26 and 32 years old, she saw the lack of resources for women healing from these major operations. Women deserve better support.
Today we are discussing all the things you guys! We start off talking about hysterectomies, endometriosis, adenomyosis, what these are, and that having these surgeries doesn't mean you life is over, you can find a path back to life, lifting and all the things, and that's where Jocelyn comes in.
We also discuss prolapse, what It is, when it begins and what we can do about it. How and where hormone therapy fits in. To be clear hormone therapy can't work if you're not supporting yourself with adequate nutrition. Strength Training is the magic pill!!!
You can work with Dr. Jocelyn through her 90 day revival program for people who've had the above surgeries, you can also give her a follow on instagram @drjocelynwallace.

Overachievers Anonymous with Chris Castillo
Today on Far From Perfect I've got Chris Castillo on the pod and we are going to talk about being an overachiever and burnout. Chris is 'your career minded bestie', she helps high achievers change their mindset, quit their bad behaviors, and find peace. We talk about the clients she works with (28-32 and 40's) and more female then male. The signs to look for. We talk about goal setting(hint hint neither of us are fans). The internal work that has to be done in order to be 'in recovery' and what exactly that looks like.
This is a topic that has come up a lot in the last year with so many people and I wanted to find the right person to talk about this with all of you and Chris is it. Give it a listen!!

What It Really Takes to Change with Karin Nordin, PhD
Today on Far From Perfect I am talking with Karin Nordin, who is a Behavior Change Expert. She has her PhD and is CEO of Body Brain Alliance. If you're like me you might recognize her from her work at Precision Nutrition. Karin's work focuses on two things, Helping people approach self help without self hate and helping people close the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it. This is done by science! She talks to us about how your brain has no distinction between a small task and a HUGE one. We talk about how self help is divided into two polar categories; action focused and how to tap into your inner goddess. She talks to us about how to connect these two sides. We discuss Interbody brain alliance, time management(and what that really means). We also talk about Cognitive Flexibility and her Tips to boost productivity. We even dabble in ADHD. And wait for it...Committing to doing less!!! This is such an amazing conversation that you won't want to miss. Karin offers: Change Academy(which is a DIY), Alliance Coaching (1:1), Meaningful Mornings, and Compassionate Calendar. You can find Karin on instagram @karinnordinphd and her company @bodybrainalliance. This is the book she recommended: Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less, by Greg McKeown.
More about Karin:
Karin is a loving dog mom, funfetti flavor super-fan, and self-help book encyclopedia… and she also happens to be a PhD expert in health behavior change and published mindset theory researcher. After graduating with her doctorate, Karin had a striking realization: The typical self-help and productivity approaches of the personal development industry were shockingly inconsistent with the actual research on change. That inconsistency became the fuel for her business Body Brain Alliance, where she’s on a mission to teach compassion-first change techniques that help dedicated self-improvers become their 2.0 selves.
As part of that mission, Body Brain Alliance provides programs for change enthusiasts, as well as high level education on curriculum design and coaching practices for impact-first entrepreneurs. To make it simple: We teach people to change, and we teach coaches how to teach people to change.
Mastering Maintenance
I cover what exactly "maintenance" is, why you need to spend the majority of your time here and how you actually be successful in maintenance.
I also talk about mistakes people make in maintenance so you know what to look out for.
I'd love to hear what additional questions you have on the topic.

How to Regulate Your Nervous System & Cultivate Your Inner Badass with Erica Bonham
Today on Far From Perfect we are chatting with Erica Bonham who is a therapist and coach. She's been doing this for 14 years and she focuses on EMDR therapy and trauma recovery. Today we are talking about regulating your nervous system and how if we can master this, then we are 'good'! She talks to us about the Big T and the little t, in retrospect of trauma. Lack of atunement is key in terms of regulating the nervous system and understanding and holding the space for it is how we learn to regulate the nervous system. Relationship School with Jayson Gaddis
Today on Far From Perfect I have Jayson Gaddis with me who is a relationship expert, executive coach, author and founder of Relationship
School. We are talking about...you guessed it relationships! Jayson got his start in this field due to a relationship failure. He talks about two paths in a relationship, which are 'to inspire them' and 'to move on'. He doesn't recommend entering a relationship with the intent/want to change someone. We also discuss intimacy and ideas to recreating that if you're feeling it' been lost. The way to be the best possible partner is to grow and look in the mirror(& not in a negative way). Partnership is all about acceptance. To learn more please tune in to wherever you listen to your podcasts.

Your Path to Purpose with Jade Teta
Today on Far From Perfect I've got Dr. Jade Teta on the podcast and we are talking about purpose. We dive into this and talk about the four jobs he believes we as humans have, Financial job, attaining and maintaining health, personal relationship, and lastly matter and how to make a difference. He tells us how purpose and meaning are the energizer bunny of everything else and he tells us why that is. A big takeaway is that pain is the most powerful thing we have to contribute as humans. We are all unique and have our own pain and suffering. He also tells us about the "capital P' and 'little p' and what that means. He tells us about WET(written exposure therapy) and what it means and how its used. This is an eye opening conversation that is bound to make you think.

The Real Challenges Of Working With Perimenopausal Women with Lisa DeLuca
We're back together! Coach Lisa and Kylie are talking about the challenges of working with perimenopausal women. Lisa starts by sharing her personal perimenopause journey and what life is like on the other side. We talk about the mindset shifts that can happen in perimenopause to help you feel more empowered.
The biggest struggles we have found over the last few years are getting women to eat enough, do less and be more compassionate towards themselves. Once we dial these things in, we can help women create not only significant changes to their physique, but also start to feel really good in their skin.
We also address the concept of metabolic adaptation and why chronically under eating is making you gain weight.

Adrenal Fatigue with Ali Damron
Today on Far From Perfect, I'm talking with my podcast bestie Ali Damron about Adrenal Fatigue. This isn't a widely accepted 'term' if you will, especially in western medicine, however there is so much science behind this and its real and it can be changed! We dive into the what it is, how it presents itself and steps you can take to make it better. To give you a teaser....adrenal fatigue is when your brain is scanning your environment for threats and dangers and a 'fire alarm' is going off and your body is deciding if you can cope or if you need help. I know as women so many of you/us are dealing with this. Please give this a listen and see if we can help.
