50. Word of the Year 2023

50. Word of the Year 2023

This is not just about picking a word for the year that will be forgotten about. This is about being intentional about the word you pick and why

Choosing a word for the year may not be for everyone, but it is one ritual I have done for years now, and I wanted to share how it can be impactful in your life. It's about navigating the space of who you are and who you want to become.

How do you get there?
What will it take to become the woman you want to be?
Taking time to think on that. What words come up? What thoughts?

When it comes to picking a word for the year, it's more about seeing how it shows up throughout the year. What lessons you learn that helped you become fearless, or more authentic.

In this episode I share how I came up with my word for this year and last year to give you a visual on the journey.
If you choose to find a word to focus on in 2023, I would love to hear what it is. Message me or share on social so I can encourage you!!

48. I shared my deepest, darkest secret... Now what?

48. I shared my deepest, darkest secret... Now what?

I shared my deepest, darkest secret......
and with that, I wanted to share what I went through with sharing to give you the real reel.

  • Sharing your truth can feel like your heart might get ripped out of you because you are unsure of how people will react.
  • Making the choice to share with people closest to you before you share with the rest of the world
  • Realizing that you have no idea how people will react, and you get to learn to honor them through that
  • Some will react well, and others not as well
  • In the end, I was willing to lose the people I loved the most to be my most authentic self, and being ok not having answers

Through sharing my story, I realized nothing could hold me back and I am finally using my voice!
With that being said, I think It is very Important to take time to journal and check in with yourself on how you are really feeling. There are highs and lows with this journey.

so whats next?
In classic Lacie fashion, I am running 600 mph, and realizing that I am going to probably be sharing on things I love and are true to me, and with that It will grow, and clarity will come!

  • Money mindset and my journey from broke AF to Financial FREEDOM
  • Health and body Image journey and learning to love my body
  • Sharing my partnership with the most amazing skincare company because I do love non-toxic living
  • My new obsession with human design and how It can be used as a tool in life and business
  • Emotion code and healing
  • Creating a rising ritual and how owning your day can help you create a life you are obsessed with
  • And the Idea of how you can be your most authentic self on social media

Clearly I am passionate about a lot of things, so here we go!

47. The Unmasking

47. The Unmasking

We are launching a new season of the podcast with the MOST vulnerable episode I have ever recorded.

I realized I had the choice to either continue living in FEAR of what other people may say, or be my most AUTHENTIC self. The mask is coming off, and I am giving you a run down of my how my entire faith shattered in one moment on our way to Texas.

As I write this description out, I can't help but chuckle with what I am about to get myself into, and yet, I know in the deepest part of my being I am meant to share this journey with the world (now that I have had some hard convos with people close to me). When I first had the download of Her Life Out Loud 6 + years ago, I imagined it going a whole lot different than where it is about to go. It was meant to be this beautiful podcast filled with faith based stories, and here I am sharing about my faith being completely shattered, left to pick of every single piece to see how it fits into my life.

When I picked the word authenticity for my word of the year in January, deep down I knew my life would never be the same. I had no idea what I would be walking into a few weeks later. It is safe to say it was vortex. I came out a completely different person, and look back and wonder if the last 8 months were real.

Anyways, I feel like I could keep writing because the idea of pushing schedule means I am willing to be a target for some people, and a lighthouse for others, which is such an odd feeling. Here is to pushing schedule and letting a new chapter begin.

With love and gratitude,
Lacie Jaye

43. The Grass is Greener Where You Water it

After years of trying to move to what we thought was a better place, we quickly found out that the grass is NOT always greener on the other side. It is very much in fact, greener where you water it.

Now that we are here it is easier to start looking at what else looks "greener" but realizing we are here, and what do we need to get and soak in during this season of life.

We talk about what happens when you hyper focus on things outside of your control, and what happens when you let it all go. We can make things so much worse in our minds when we are focusing on it. My husband, Ben, reminded me of this, and come to find out he was completely right!

I hope you find some gold nuggets from this podcast to help you move forward and live the life you were created to live!

40. Give Thanks in Everything

40. Give Thanks in Everything

We tend to focus on the bad things
and seem to forget to give thanks on the great things.

I share my heart in the process of gratitude, and learning even in the hardest seasons to give thanks and praise to God. There are so many verses that tell us about thanksgiving, and how we are called to give praise . To stop being anxious about the things in life, and to remember that even the birds in the sky are taken care of.

Friends, I know what it feels like to have $5 in my account for weeks. I know what it feels like to be late on rent money. The feeling sucks, but time and time again, I am reminded that we have to let go of what we can't control. Be thankful for what we have today because we don't know what tomorrow brings.

I have spent so much time in paralyzing anxiety and worry because we were not sure how rent would come through. Only to realize I lost so much time in being present with my family, and being thankful for that the had for us.

Stop and give thanks.
When the pandemic first hit there was a ton of fear, but when I realized I had no control over the situation... I found myself listening to worship music while I would walk around town. Praising and being thankful for the smallest of things.

What incredible things have happened during this season?

As much as the pandemic has been frustrating, I can't say I want to erase 2020. so many incredible things have happened during this year, and I really believe that a lot of it has come from this season of slowing down. It is all about perspective.

39. Work With God's Grace Instead of the Grind

Grace Over Grind
If you are in business... this book is one you need to read ASAP.
It includes a bonus journal, and it is so worth taking the time to read, and really tap into what the Holy Spirit want's you to do in your business.
Friends, it is going to look different for everyone. We are each unique, and God has a specific plan for you to do business his way.

I promise it is worth it

I literally crashed and burned in 5 businesses before I decided to do something different. I love home based businesses, but so many times we see people burning out because they are searching out what every other "successful" person is doing, and they are trying to do it too. These businesses are meant to be a blessing, and I will be the first to tell you, when you start doing it differently, things start to happen in your favor.

What is God calling you to do?
Take the time to really ask him how he wants you to show up in your business. He is like the greatest business partner of all times! Let him be the CEO and see what happens. I know he has asked me to podcast, blog and work my MIG business. Yes, using social media, but not being consumed by it. He is opening these other platforms up, and it has taken me a minute to get out of the mindset that my business is going to suffer because I am not posting on the GRAM all the time. But I know that when he calls you to do something, listen!

I know women who knew they needed to take time off from social media... Where their entire businesses were run, and guess what?? Their businesses did not shut down. God will bless your business when you listen to what he is calling you to do!

SHOW NOTES:
I always like to remind people to check out your local book store to see if they have the books or can ship them in. We have to support the small businesses. I did link to amazon so you could see what books I am talking about!!

35. It's our Responsibility

Word of the Week

We are putting a new spin to WOW! We will be taking most of the podcast sharing about a card we pulled the week before, and then taking a moment to pull a new card to start pondering. Each week I will post the word on on the Her Life Out Loud Instagram page, where I would love to hear your thoughts on the new word.

As a community we can encourage and embrace one another as we each have our own views, and own personal revelation on the word. I will share some of the stories on the podcast the following week!

Responsibility

This is one that really got me thinking, and make the depth of my soul start grasping what it meant. I am excited to share with you how it is our responsibility to live the lives we are called to live, and to share what we have learned so others know they are not alone. It is our responsibility to STAND up, to love one another, and to make the change we want to see in the world.

New word to ponder

Peace! Wow, what a time to pull the word peace.

If you are listening to this podcast at a later time there is a lot going on in the world right now that is causing a lot of division.

I can't wait to see what this word brings up for you! Make sure to pop on over to Her Life Out Loud to share so we can start to read what it means to you!

34. Authenticity

34. Authenticity

You don't have to be the OG!

Being authentic means to resemble the original. Someone paves the way for you, and you get to be you! Just because someone else is doing it doesn't mean that you can't do it too. You have your own blueprint. You are not being an IMPOSTER. Follow their footsteps, but bring your fire!

When you are authentic to who you are, and you will attract your tribe even if there are other people out there with similar dreams. Step into who you were called to be because other people are waiting for you.

Are you ready to embrace who you were created to be??

32. Why God is the Center

32. Why God is the Center

Have you ever felt like there was a missing link?

I have been feeling this way for the last few years. Wondering why things were not working out for me in areas I know I was called in. It was so frustrating because it felt like I was hitting brick wall after brick wall. What was wrong with me. Was I missing something?

The missing link

Apparently I was missing one of the biggest things that makes me who I am! My FAITH!

I have always tried to separate my life, business, and my faith because I didn't want to offend anyone. But the truth is, I wasn't living in alignment. I was taking the deepest part of who I am, the part of me that gives me LIFE, and hoping I could still live what I was called to do. It does't work that way.

No wonder I was left feeling hopeless and exhausted.

When I decided to just go all in with my faith... opportunities opened up, my business had life in it, and the right people started showing up out of nowhere. A book you have to read is The Anomaly Mind-Set. I am reading exactly what I feel. It is insane, and it will change your life.

It is time to start living your life as you. Don't be afraid to share your faith in your business or in you life. God is the one I talk to the most often. 31. Word of the Week: Forgiveness

Sometimes you don't think you need to forgive until someones name is mentioned, and then it feels like a punch to your gut. Have you ever had that happen to you? We need to feel all the feels, let go and move forward.

Holding on to grudges is not SERVING you. It is darkness that will start taking over your joy.

When you forgive there is space that is created.

There is power in forgiveness.

30. Stop Living Small

30. Stop Living Small

Time to make an IMPACT

That thing that has been on your heart. That burning in your soul... That was meant for you to make an impact. It might start off small, but that's the beauty of impact. We do what we are called to do having faith that God does the rest.

Start asking yourself where you are playing small. Be honest with yourself, and take a few days to really mediate, pray and journal about it so you can make a shift and move forward.

Stop living small

I don't know about you, but I would rather live big and be able to be a need meeter, rather than always feeling like I am a victim to not having enough. I was told so much of my life that I needed to be content with where I was. A lot of that could be true, but I also think people get scared in seeing success. They try to keep others living smaller so they don't feel bad. So let's RISE. Let's start living LARGE. Let's light the fire in others so we can all live bigger.

I happened to listen to a podcast today from my leader in the industry I joined, and and it happened to be a similar story. Go check her out. She is such an inspiring woman, and speaks so much truth.

29. Word of the Week: Rooted

29. Word of the Week: Rooted

ROOTED

verb
establish deeply or firmly.

I will always believe that God will meet you where you are... I know and feel it more than ever after being on a very lonely journey when I left the church, and wanting to give up on God. I look back now and see how he used people outside the church to love on me. My heart needed exactly that to show me people outside of the church are loving people. They care, they are not always evil, and without thinking twice were there when I felt so knocked down.

My heart is to embrace you for who you are. The amazing, beautiful, smart, perfectly made human you were created to be. You don't have to be perfect, you can ask questions, you can be frustrated, but I still believe that deep root and TRUE relationship with God is still rooted within you.

28. Crazy Faith

28. Crazy Faith

Who wants crazy faith?

What if you stepped into who you are and the person God created you to be.

I believe it takes stepping into faith, and GOD takes control. It is almost no way to explain it except to jump in, and go for it!!!!

All of us have different areas in our lives where we are getting stirred. In times that are very unsure, we need to group together and have the Crazy Faith, and be the LIGHT! People need you to be you, and who you were created to be.

Stand up in TRUTH.

Stand up in BOLDNESS.

Stand up in what you BELIEVE it.

Don't slow down with your dreams. Keep moving forward. I believe good things are coming.

Starting Your Morning Routine

Starting Your Morning Routine

Shout out to all the morning peeps!!

Let me tell you how much my morning routine has CHANGED MY LIFE. In this episode I share about my morning routine, and the importance of filling your cup before you start pouring from it the rest of the day. Each morning routine will look different, and takes time planning for it, and deciding what you want from it.

Even starting your day 15 minutes before the rest of your house gets up is a great way to get started. It allows you to set your intentions for the day, and control the direction you want your day to go instead of being rudely awakened by others asking for breakfast because they are hungry.

Word of the week: Purification

Word of the week: Purification

Hey, Her Life Out Loud Podcasters.

I started this journey thinking I would be doing two podcasts a week with one of them being a Word Of the Week, but then I got nervous that people would think that idea was weird... So I stopped.

Until today!! I decided I like adding a WOW to our weeks, and think it could be a fun way for you to enjoy something to focus on in your own life.

This week we are talking about PURIFICATION.

At first I was like WTH does that even mean, and then I thought about how there are so many areas in my life that could be detoxed. Lately there have been things that have come up where I end up saying things I regret later, or I am in disbelief that I said them, and so I decided it was time to find the source of what is making act this certain way.

It could be friends you need to distance yourself from, social media, or work issues you need to stay out of. It can be easy to get caught up in things, and now you can take the week to detox from or "purify" the negative things  that are holding you back from becoming the best version of you!

xx

WTF RONA

WTF RONA

.... why is everyone buying mass amounts of TP? I guess I shouldn't  judge because I would not want you to judge on the amount of cookies I  have ate today.

Should  I start off by letting you know I am coming at you as a SEVEN. Like I  only want the positive, I laugh at every meme out there, and I think  this is the time to move your life forward for those of you who are  ready?! I would also like to note that I totally get the seriousness of  COVID-19. My husband and I are currently not sure where we stand with  jobs, and we have someone in our lives who is considered highly at risk  with this virus.

With  all that being said, I have a whole new meaning to SAHM since school is  closed, which means we will be doing our best at some "school" things,  but enjoying the day as it goes. I mean P played outside for 2 hours  today because when you go to school, you don't get much time outside. He  was living his best life today.

But  for real, I really think this time can be used in such a powerful way  to move yourself forward. Like take the time to really think about the  things that bring you JOY. Not money, but JOY!!!! I dare you to ask  yourself, and then definitely let me know so I can encourage you and  celebrate with you!!

I  see this time as the perfect opportunity to read personal development  books, dive into that side hustle, start writing out the dreams in your  soul (I know they are there waiting to be written down), just freaking  going for the thing you needed more time to start, spending the extra  time with your kiddos, and actually having time to cook dinner for your  fam. Or you can zone out on your phone stressing about RONA.

A  week ago I was telling a friend that I almost wish something would  happen so I would have to take time to work on moving myself in the  direction I am meant to go, but find myself stuck by the "golden"  handcuffs... aka Money. Well, I guess I could thank RONA for shutting  down our small town because that wish came true.

I know without a doubt some of you can take this time, and set it up to sling shot you forward in whatever areas of life you were wanting to move. Listen, before someone gets all uptight, definitely take this time to get some R+R. You might as well enjoy it while you can.

Ok, enough for now. I hope you enjoyed this episode on the Her Life Out Loud Podcast. I would love it if ou could take the time to screenshot a pic and post to your stories so I can see, and hear what you got from this. It also allows me to say THANK YOU!!! Thank you for being a part of this community.

Enjoy the Journey

Enjoy the Journey

UUGGGHHH.

I know that title can be so annoying. So many times we are hearing people talk about enjoying the journey well after they are out of the middle where it can feel like you are stuck. Like will this freaking dream ever come true?!?

I felt like a fraud recording this podcast because I don't know all the things about fully enjoying the journey of a big dream that is accomplished. NOPE. But I do know what it feels like to learn to enjoy the journey while in the middle of seeing a big dream come to life, and honestly, while in the middle of WHAT THE F AM I EVEN DOING of another big dream. I definitely talk about both on the podcast.

I share my tips on how to start enjoying the journey.

Reminding you how it will feel when you can look back and see the lessons learned during those times, and the person you became because of it. So, girl, you have to remember you are not alone. We have been there, and we are going through our own stages of the journey. I promise it's worth it.

My biggest takeaway from the journey is having GRATITUDE! Oh my goodness this is a game changer when it comes to seeing things in a new light!!

Facing FEAR

Facing FEAR

Freaking FEAR.

There can be such a love/hate relationship with fear. I am currently dealing with facing fear + letting it go in certain areas so I can welcome JOY. I have lived a majority of my life in fear. It has held me captive for so many years, and finally I feel like I am learning to really let it go... FINALLY. But it hasn't been without a lot of work.

Today I want to share with you some things I have done to help me move through fear. I can't wait to hear how they help you as well. This may not be in the order I shared on the podcast, but it works for this.

1. JOURNALING

Wow. This has been a huge step in helping me face fear.

I have been journaling for about 5 years. Being able to be super raw and real with myself as I journal has been a big help in moving through feelings such as fear. I recently heard about Future-Self Journaling with @theholisticpsychologist from a few friends, and I am beyond excited to start. I can't wait to share more with you after I finish my first 30 days. I'll make sure to keep you posted.

2. PODCAST

Ok. Just to put it out there.. I am a podcast JUNKIE.

I love being able to listen as I workout, clean, drive, and do whatever else I doing. There are so many amazing people in the podcast world, and you can find so many topics... like the one I heard a few weeks ago when I was trying to talk my husband and Parker out of letting Parker go on a huge cross country trip with Ben all because of FEAR. I happened to be listening to Super Soul Conversations with Oprah, and it just so happened to be one with Brene Brown who I LOVE. She was talking about forbidding joy in her life, and let me tell you.. it struck me into the deepest part of my soul. I knew fear held me back a lot of my life, but this was like here it is served on a platter, let's work on this. BAM!

So, I encourage you to listen to podcasts if you are dealing with whatever. You can find a ton out there that help you to move forward, and ones that encourage you to keep going.

3. EMDR THERAPY

I know not everyone has the resources to go to therapy, which is why I put this last on the list, but I encourage you to reach out to local resources in your area because there are so many times they have money to give to people to get the help they need. That is how I got started, and I can't even begin to describe what it did for me.

Therapy. A word I ran from for most my life (more on that another time), but holy smokes it has been the BEST thing that has happened to me this past year. I heard about EMDR from a therapist friend, and so I decided I wanted to meet with someone who would do EMDR on me if I was a fit. I could go on and on about what EMDR has done for me, but today I want to talk about how EMDR therapy helped me to reset my emotions. I worked on ANGER and FEAR. It was so cool how simple it was, and how much it has helped me. Not to mention that it came right when I needed it the most with facing the fear of letting Parker go with Ben on this big trip. If you have a therapist, reach out to them about helping you with your emotions, and anything else you are needing direction with.

With all this being said...

I can't wait to hear how you are facing your fears. It could be the smallest step or the biggest leap, and I want to hear about it. Make sure to screenshot this episode and post in your stories!! That way I can encourage you to keep on going.

Thank you for being a part of this community.

Focus on Who you Need to Become to Make an Impact

Focus on Who you Need to Become to Make an Impact

I saw a quote a few weeks ago and I can't get it out of my head. So I have taken some time to ponder on it.

"Focus on who you need to become to impact people, instead of what you need to do." – Nadya Melton

It is so dang good. In a world where we do more to prove that we are worthy, I think it is time to take a step back and focus more on who we are to create the impact we want in our lives. To all the dreamers out there... we can find a million things we want to do, and really, so many of those things can create an Impact, but what if we took a step back to focus on who we are so we know the direction we are meant to go?!

Sit. Be still. Take a moment.

Work on the person you want to become. Focus on what is important to you. Unplug, pray, journal, meditate. There are so many times we try to do what isn't meant to happen just yet.

Cheers to you + taking the time to just be for a moment.

I can't wait to see who you become and make an IMPACT in the lives around you!

I go to therapy: Grief

I go to therapy: Grief

Pretty much I love my therapist.

If you have been around here for a minute, you know that therapy has changed my life.

I wanted to take a minute and share about GRIEF. I learned a lot about in a therapy session, and it has stuck with me.. so I figured it could be what someone else needs to hear. On this particular day it was like she gave me permission I thought I need to grieve a relationship that didn't happen how I wanted it to. It seemed so weird at first, but once I sat with the idea of grieving the relationship I wanted with my dad as a child, I was able to let it go to enjoy the relationship we have now.

Since then I realized with how much life happens and changes, there are so many little moments I have now allowed myself to grieve, and it is so freeing! Even though you don't need permission for anything, here is your permission to grieve the big, the small, and the in between.

Keep embracing who you are, and let's create an IMPACT on this world, in our communities, and families.

You Have ONE Life to Live

You Have ONE Life to Live

I have fears.

One of the ones I am really working through is OTHER PEOPLE OPINIONS, but recently I am more afraid of dying because I am not living out the life I know I was created to live. It pretty much trumps the opinions of others.

I was listening to the Earn Your Happy Podcast with Lori Harding a few weeks ago, and she was talking about how much gut teams have when they throw a Hail Mary play. They either win or they lose, but they gave it their all. WAKE UP CALL! I want to live my life like it's the only life I have... because it is! We don't get a do over.

I shared my 6 tips I am doing right now to help me live this ONE life I have to live. I hope you can take away at least one tip to help you start moving into the woman you were created to be to create IMPACT!

Show Up

Show Up

You know those moments when you share something, and then you get a "God Wink" where it just solidifies what you just talked about, or the direction you are going. It's a heck yes...keep going.

I recorded this podcast about showing up.

When you show up for yourself... that's where the magic happens.

I also believe that when we show up to do what is on our hearts, stirring our curiosity, we end up showing up for other people. It might not be the timing we thought it would be, but we can create a path for others to follow!!

Back to the "God Wink" because it makes me laugh.

I get done recording and start checking my texts from the day that I missed..

I signed up for @textsfromkac and this is what the message said,

"Spending all that time DOUBTING your own abilities has you missing out on NOTICING all the people you ALREADY inspire. Keep showing up. It matters."

And that my friend is what I needed to hear. And just maybe, you needed it too.

Show up.

Even if its's for yourself.

You never know who is watching.

Embrace the woman you were created to be to make an IMPACT

Dance with the People in Front of You

Dance with the People in Front of You

I will be the first to say I LOVE what I can do on my cool iPhone.

I love that I can stay connected by social media.

But we so often look down and forget about the people right in front of our faces!

I am talking about family, friends, siblings and parents, BUT what about the people in front of us in the grocery line, coffee shop and postal line?

Stop looking down, and start looking at the people surrounding us.

I dare you.... the next time you go to the store, look at people in the eyes, say hello, wave..

GASP. It really can feel awkward, but it can make an IMPACT!

This community is filled with so many amazing people who make ripples that get bigger, which make waves. WAVES make IMPACT!

 Bye Energy Suckers

Bye Energy Suckers

You can still be kind to people without bending over backwards for the people who in all honesty...

DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU.

From a former people pleaser.

I hate when people are mad at me, or didn't like me. A flood of insecurities that come from these people I would find myself trying to change who I was so they would see me differently.

And then I realized that I could smile, be kind, but I didn't have to waste energy on people who just suck the life out of me.

You GROW.

They try to tear you down.

You SHINE.

They try to darken it.

You become a better version of YOU.

They think you are acting like you are better than everyone.

You get UNCOMFORTABLE.

They like to make sure to try and keep everyone comfortable.

You start to CHANGE.

They remind you of who you were in the past. Let's be real, they like to bring up the NEGATIVE.

There will always be energy suckers in our life.

I think it is just part of the journey!!

Let's find a way to use their energy as a way to fuel you to live your life!

Bring on the New Year

Bring on the New Year

Start your year off with a BANG!

Is it just me or do you feel the days from Christmas to New Years can feel a bit awkward? After all the hype with the holidays it can feel like a week of zoning out, but this week can be the most important part of the year so you can start the New Year off with a BANG!

Five tips to Bring on the New Year

Word of the year

This has become my FAVORITE tradition as I get ready for the New Year. Ask, pray, meditate on what your word would be for the year. I started this about three years ago, and it still blows my mind how perfect each word has been for the year. Having a word for the year has helped me to have something to focus on as I work through different areas of life.

Dream Board

Dream boards have been something I have done for years, but last year was the first we sat down as a family to each do one on New Year's Day.  We cut pictures and words from magazines, and wrote out goals and dreams we wanted to start to work toward!!!  It was a great way to be present with family. I love the idea of starting this with our kids while they are young so it becomes second nature to them. It was so fun to hear what they were looking forward to that year. Camping, playing with friends, going to the beach were a few of Parkers goals this last year!

Get Your House Ready

Go through your rooms and see where you need to get organized. This is the week we take down our Christmas decorations, start vacuuming pine needles that I will continue to find for the next 364 days, and get the house cleaned. It feels so good! I am sitting here right now able to take a deep breath knowing I am one step closer to bring on the NEW YEAR! Now my office and desk area are a completely different story... I'll be getting to that next!

Goals

Ditch the New Year's Resolutions. You can search best New Year's Resolutions for 2020, but we all know they last for a matter of a month, and then they gone!! Seriously, start thinking of goals and setting your intentions for the New Year. Stop focusing on the silly "I want to lose ten pounds resolution" so you can fit back into those skinny jeans, and just go buy a new pair of jeans that rock the body you are currently in.

Maybe you have a goal of waking up early. Great! Start planning how to make that happen. Maybe you want to start doing yoga? Where will you take classes, what time of the day are you planning on getting it in?

Start thinking of these things. Be intentional this next week in planning our your schedule so you can wake up early, do yoga, pray, meditate, workout, make lunches, or what ever it is you plan on doing to make this next year GREAT!

End the year on a high

Just like we talked about organizing the house... It is time to wrap up those to-do lists that have been put off for like the whole year. Just me? If you can buckle down this next week, and start crossing off your list you will walk into the New Year without the baggage from last year. EWWW. No one wants to bring a bunch of crap from last year so girlfriend, sit down and get it done!

Alright, I gave you all the details on making this year your best year! I can't wait to hear how these tips and tricks help you move into the new year with a BANG. We are starting a new month, new year, and a NEW DECADE, and I have to believe it is going to be an incredible year!! If you are on the great IG make sure to tag me @Laciefigueiredo so I can hear what your word for the YEAR is, and what goals you set for yourself!

Be Present

Be Present

Taking a break from social media.

But really, how many of you kinda sorta wanna take a break from it for just a bit?

I am definitely one of them in this season of life.

I thought about it awhile ago, but honestly I was totally digging zoning out and endlessly scrolling on the IG.

But one Sunday morning I just felt like God was asking me to take a break. I have been asking what the next direction is for Her Life Out Loud, and if I am being completely honest....

I have been super distracted by everyone else.

Watching what she is doing, and where she is going with her business. Excited for them, but wondering why I was struggling to figure out my own direction. I believe God was telling me to take this break, and create space. Space to just be present with myself, with him, with my family and friends, and just be.

And so I decided it was my next step.

Little did I know that being obedient in taking time away from social media for Her Life Out Loud, but it was exactly what was needed in a few other areas of my life that I hope to share soon.

With all this being said, I am not sure what podcasting will look like during this time. I might be rocking it because I have things to share, or I might take a step away from it because it is part of my social break.

Thank you so much for being here.

I am so excited to see what this break brings!!!

Word Of the Week: Humor

Word Of the Week: Humor

I get it... It is not always easy to find humor in seasons of life, but

let me tell you, if you can take just a moment to laugh even in really sucky situations, the emotional release can be incredible. Warning** it could also lead to crying because you finally have released built up tension in your body.

I'm sure there are a million examples I could have used when it comes to humor, but toilet paper being shoved up my daughters nose seemed appropriate for this season of life. It also seemed right when I was going through the tough stuff last year, when laughing didn't even seem possible or appropriate. My laugh may or may not have been accompanied with a, "are you {bleep} kidding me?!"

Girl, I know we all need a good laugh.

So, tell me what you are finding humor in in this lovely thing we call life.

I can't wait to hear!!

Let's Start

Let's Start

That nudge you feel inside of you... you know the one before the flood of 50 thousand other emotions and thought come flooding in... Yes, that one. Do it!!  Again, I need to warn you that the day I decided to record these podcasts I didn't realize I pushed a button that could potentially break an eardrum... So I do apologize if my sound is not on fleek. But at least your eardrum will not be broken.

It could have been that I was so excited to record this podcast. Which means my voice probably got in the red on its own without the help of my button mistake.

New Day.
New week.
Let's start something new together.

Are you ready??

Yep, there is going to be fear telling you to stop. To play it safe. But where is the fun in that? Start the thing that is so deep in your soul it hurts. You are not alone. The one thing I learned from listening to Jasmine Star's podcast, "Action creates clarity." So many of us stand on the sidelines waiting for the signs, waiting for the fear to leave and the clarity to come, but I will go ahead and tell you to START!! Starting will give you the clarity you need to know the next step

#micdrop

I want to hear what you plan on starting. Message me, let me know, and if you need just one other person to believe in you... Please message me. I will remind you to do the darn thing because we are in this life TOGETHER!!!

Lacie

Word of the Week- Comparison

Word of the Week- Comparison

Let's get this week started off right with a Word of the Week podcast coming straight from the heart.

I probably should forewarn you about the sound. It is not terrible, but it might be a little loud sounding. We are learning all about starting a podcast over here, and well I guess my mic sound went up to 20, and it should sit nicely at 12.

There you have it friends. The real reel. Learning all the things along the way.

I am really excited to share this podcast with you this week. COMPARISON is something I have struggled with, and always need a reminder because it is so dang easy to compare with social media these days.

Comparison is the thief of JOY

Put in those headphones, turn up the volume (be careful on this one), and let's get to talking about how comparison can dim your light, put out your fire, and be the thief of joy. We don't have time for comparison in our lives. We have too many amazing things on our heart to share with the world.

Girl, take this week to really think of ways you find yourself comparing, and let's remove the temptation. Okurrrr?!?!

I can't wait to see how you shine your beautiful light to change this world.

I go to THERAPY

I go to THERAPY

Listen Friends...

I go to THERAPY.

I started going to therapy, and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. I decided to record this episode for you because I am usually open about therapy, but there are a handful of people who have made me feel ashamed. Every once in awhile the shame comes over me, and I get nervous how others might respond.

Therapy is BAD

That is what I have been told most my life growing up in the church I went to, but the truth is, it has been the best thing for me, and for so many other women I have talked to. Maybe this episode is not for you, but maybe it is exactly what you need to hear because you have been told therapy is a terrible place to go. I personally have struggled with postpartum depression after both of my babies to the point I had to go to therapy due to the condition I was in, and I have now gone consistently for a year after everything happened with my daughter, Emery.

Not sure if therapy is for you??

I have had an ok therapist, and I now have one I LOVE!! It is so worth going so you can take the time to see if you will be compatible. You don't know until you meet each other. They are there to help give you the tools to work on the areas you might be struggling with in your life.

If you can't afford therapy look into community resources. There are a lot of mental health resources to help you or someone you know. It is worth asking and seeing what is available to you.

Our word of the week is JOY!!!!

Joy is a choice. Let's stop letting life happen to us, and believe it is happening for us!! Our attitude through a tough time can be a game changer when it comes to life!!! When was the last time you felt true joy?!? I dare you to start finding the joy in all the little things in life. Word of the Week: WILLINGNESS

I love angel cards. Every time I pull a card it allows me to focus on that certain word for the week. It never fails that the card is perfect for areas I need to work on. I decided I wanted to share a word of the week with you in hopes it can encourage you. This week it is about letting go of control. Be willing to be willing... not the easiest thing for me to do.
