Hester Makepeace and her youngest child Moss sit out on the cottage porch on a windy spring morning, discussing how Hester has inadvertently managed to raise witchy children and how Moss grew up into their own witchy identity. What is Sacred Space? And what do we really mean by the "Thinning Veil" that witch-minded folk so often speak about at this time of the year? Hester answers many questions and provides some interesting background to one of the most exciting seasons. Then she explores the interconnection between Druidism and Wicca by way of The Druid Craft Tarot Deck and a single card pull.

Hester begins Season Two of The Cottage Witch as she begins the academic year anew--and for the last time. She talks about Harvest as a whole season as well, focusing on bread and blackberries for Lughnasadh and the concept of liminality--the in-between times and spaces.

Hester explains the basic format to most spells by comparing them to kitchen recipes. She walks through that format, suggesting ways to simplify it as well as add on additional layers, depending on the depth of casting you'd like to achieve. Then she also suggests a wide variety of ways to increase their power and effectiveness. Finally, she encourages witches to record both their workings and the results in their Book of Shadows.

Hester discusses the sun feast of Midsummer and includes fun and interesting themes to make the coming days even more magical, including incorporating a bit of William Shakespeare's play, A Midsummer Night's Dream into your magical celebrations.

Conveniently, as most old farmers will tell you, Mother's Day, or just after, is also the perfect time to begin a container garden, an especially amazing and practical working for us Green Witches, no matter where we live. This episode is the continuation of Episode 3.
