Today we look at what it means to honor our parents and what it means to be parents who parent according to Christ's calling on our lives.

Today Pastor Robbie walked us through what it looks like to have a Spirit Filled Marriage. We examined what the proper roles are for a husband and wife and how they are to treat each other and some questions for those looking to get married or support their married friends.

Today we heard from our missions team that went to Ethiopia in March. They tell us how God moved in them on the trip as well as how they saw God moving in Ethiopia.

Today we walk through Ephesians 5:15-21 and learn how we can walk wisely and be led by the Holy Spirit as we invite the Spirit to fill us and lead us every day!

Today Pastor Robbie walked us through Ephesians 5:8-14 and we learned that in order to walk in the light and to be the light we were created to be, we must live in and spend time in the light that is living with Christ.

Today Carl Gutzman walked us through the beginning of Ephesians chapter 5 as Paul continues to describe the duties of the Christian in their new life.

Today we went through Ephesians 4:25-32 and built off of what we learned last week. We began to answer the question how do we walk in a manner worthy of our calling?

Today Pastor Robbie walks us through Paul's instructions to put off the old man and put on the new. This includes not only leaving your old life behind, but bringing in the new life daily. He explains how we are could to be different in this world and how we can walk worthy of this calling.

Today, we learned that Christ has given all believers gifts according to his purpose for building up the body of Christ. Pastor Robbie encouraged us to identify what gifts we have been given and to use those gifts in serving the body of Christ, the church.

Today Pastor Robbie teaches us about the unity of the church and how we are to be unified in one body, Christ's body, which is the church.

Today Pastor Robbie spoke on the truth of God's majesty and power, and how he is able to do far and exceedingly beyond what we can ever possibly think or imagine.

Today Pastor Robbie looks at Paul's prayer for the Ephesians and explores just how amazing and incomprehensible God's infinite love for us is.

Today Pastor Robbie walked us through the beginning of Chapter 3 and pointed continued talking about the importance of the church, the mystery revealed within it, and how God example's his glorious wisdom to the world and even the Angels.

Today Pastor Robbie explained how the church is being built into a Holy temple for the Lord. With all of us as citizens of God's Kingdom and members of God's family. We are being built up and around the Chief cornerstone that is Jesus Christ. We are called to be an active part of God's church and God's family.

Today Carl Gutzman walks us through Ephesians 2:10 and highlights how we can make 2024 a great year by fulfilling our divine purpose by growing in fellowship with Christ, and by serving God and his people with the gifts and works he set apart for each of us.

This week we looked at the Christmas story in Luke 2. Pastor Dan encouraged us to live out the amazing reality that this story is true! And To proclaim the good news of Jesus birth, death, and resurrection this Christmas season.

Last week we learned about the problem of Sin and the fall of man in Genesis and how God was planning and promising Jesus even from the beginning. Today Pastor Robbie speaks on the promise of a savior king who would come from Bethlehem. This promise, the promise of Jesus, is the hope that kept the Israelites alive in the old testament, and is the hope that keeps us going today.

As we begin our Christmas series this year we begin by looking at the original problem in Genesis 3 that fractured our life with God and with others. But in this passage we also get a glimpse of a Savior to come to redeem mankind.

Many of us believe and proclaim a belief about grace, but often struggle to let that gift transform us. In this message, Paul unpacks the gospel as a gift from God that changes how we relate to God, to ourselves and to others.

In this section of Ephesians, Paul describes the reality of our spiritual state. But despite the sobering truth, Paul goes on to explain the hope of Christ who makes dead people alive.

In Acts 17, we see that Paul was provoked by the idols of the city he was in. This caused him to engage with the people and share the truth of the gospel with them. As we are in our 3rd week of the GO conference, we focus on what it looks like to be provoked and share the gospel locally in the places we call home.

We have discussed a lot of different tools for interpreting the Bible, now it's time to put it all together with an example. How do we take a passage, identify the genre, look at the context, and then apply it to our lives?

How can we live with hope in a world that's so upside down? In this passage of Ephesians, Paul reminds his readers of the great power and authority of Christ that is far above all other rule, power, authority and name. Our confidence is in the power of Christ even when it is unseen to our natural eyes.

In this section of Paul's letter to the Ephesians he prays for the church that the eyes of their hearts would be opened to know the hope and greatness of their inheritance in Christ.

As Paul concludes this section of praise, he gets at both the inheritance to come for the believer, and the downpayment of that inheritance that we received as a guarantee of what is yet to come.

We all want freedom, but where is true freedom really found? Often we think it's in the absence of any restrictions, but the New Testament would teach us the opposite. In Ephesians 1:7-10 we learn about the freedom of forgiveness and God's masterplan of uniting all things under Christ.

As we continue our series in Ephesians, Paul continues to unpack the spiritual blessings that we have in Christ. This week he focuses on the reality of us being chosen to be holy and blameless and adopted.

While the Bible is one sweeping story, it is composed of several books and in those books, several different kinds of literature. So in order to read the Bible well we need to know what type of biblical literature we are reading. In this episode we explore the various genres from historical narrative to poetry and biblical law.

This week we kick off a brand new series looking at Paul's letter to Ephesus. In verses 1-3 we focus in on the gospel identity that Christ gives us and the reality of the spiritual blessings that we receive.

Not only we want to do life with God and life with others, but we also all have a mission to live out in this life. All believers are called to ministry and pursue the great commission. In this message, we look at the third and final core value: Life on Mission.

While we need a vibrant life with God, we also need a vibrant life with others. Community is essential to the life of a Christian. In this message, we explore how the gospel comes with community as we look at 1 Thessalonians 2:8.

We begin a new series looking at our core values as a church. These core values are the way we fulfill our mission of making disciples of reach Vermillion and the world. The first value and starting point of all we do, is fostering a life not just for God, but a life with God.

One of the biggest mistakes when trying to read the Bible is taking something out of context. In this episode we are joined by Tucker Parman and talk through 3 different types of context that are important lenses when trying to properly understand Scripture.

John summarizes his letter in his conclusion, and shares with us the marks of what a believer looks like. He doesn't say these things are how we become a child of God, but are the spiritual birthmarks of those who are children of God.

God is love. This is more than an abstract theological truth, it also means that the natural outflow of experiencing God's love is extend that love toward others. We see that the reality that God defines love is actually really good news for us.

How can we know what is true instead of what is deception? Critical to the Christian faith is the claim of truth, yet people often try to skew truth and deceive others. In this passage John explains how we can be confident of the truth.

What is love? In this passage John tells us that our love for others is what can reassure us of our status before God. But love is lot more complex that empty words and heartless actions.

What great love the Father has poured out that we should be called children of God. In this passage, we see a warning from John about false teachers who deny Christ, but then John comforts us with the truth and beauty of being able to be called children of God.

We are all seeking fulfillment in this life. But John warns us to choose carefully what we love. He gives us a loving warning to not fall for the marketing of the world, but to realize that true joy is not found apart from God but with Him.

How can we have assurance the we really know God? In this passage, John gives us two tests of faith to examine ourselves. These tests reveal the posture of our heart towards God.

How can we have confidence in our faith? In chapter 1, John writes about the historical reality of Jesus as well as the forgiving reality that brings us out of darkness and into fellowship with a holy and loving God.

In Luke 18, Jesus tells a parable contrasting the prayers of tax collector and that of a Pharisee. In it we see the self-righteous of one and the humility of the other. We are reminded that our righteousness comes from Christ not from our own status, which should lead to a humility before God and before others.

In Luke 18 Jesus tells a parable about a persistent widow. Many of have prayed earnestly for something, but yet it never came. Or if it did, it likely came later than we had originally hoped. What are we to make of that? How should we continue to pray when they continue to be unanswered?
