Ep 141 Top Ten Abuses of Power Since 9/11
In December 2005, the New York Times reported the National  Security Agency was tapping into telephone calls of Americans without a  warrant, in violation of federal statutes and the Constitution.  Furthermore, the agency had also gained direct access to the  telecommunications infrastructure through some of America's largest  companies. The program was confirmed by President Bush and other  officials, who boldly insisted, in the face of all precedent and the  common understanding of the law, that the program was legal. And, the  agency appears to have been not only eavesdropping on the conversations  of Americans in this country without warrants, but also using broad  "data mining" systems that allowed it to analyze information about the  communications of millions of innocent people within the United States.

Rocking With Hollywood - Hollywood looses his Libido
Men don't like to talk about it; neither do their partners. But loss of libido in men or inhibited sexual desire stresses a marriage more than any  other sexual dysfunction, according to Barry McCarthy, co-author of Rekindling Desire: A Step by Step Program to Help Low-Sex and No-Sex Marriages. Losing  interest in sex may not be as common an occurrence for men as it is for  women: It affects about 15% to 16% of men, and at least double that  many women. "But when men lose interest in sex it scares them more than  women -- their masculinity is so linked to their sexuality that it is  very threatening," says Esther Perel, a couples therapist in New York  city and author of Mating in Captivity. Loss of libido also  makes men more unhappy about the rest of their lives than it does  women. Only 23% of men with loss of libido say they still feel very  happy about life in general vs. 46% of women, says Edward Laumann,  professor of sociology at the University of Chicago co-author of The Social Organization of Sexuality: Sexual Practices in the United States. "It bothers men more."

CHICAGO -- Two people were killed and at least 30 others wounded in mass  shootings overnight in three states, authorities said Saturday, stoking  concerns that a spike in U.S. gun violence could continue into summer  as coronavirus restrictions ease and more people are free to socialize. The attacks took place late Friday or early Saturday in the Texas capital of Austin, Chicago and Savannah, Georgia.

EP 137 Emotional cheating - A means to an end/ TAKE CARE OF OUR VETS

Ep 136 Too 'woke' to work?
A magazine editor explained on "Fox & Friends" Wednesday why he's reconsidering whether to hire Ivy league graduates. "I  would just say that 10 years ago I would have seen that as a big  positive on their resume and now I see it as a negative that they have  to overcome in the interview because obviously there is going to be  great kids all over in higher [education] at different schools," said  the editor of "First Things" magazine Rusty Reno. Reno said back then, the negative tendencies of Ivy League graduates was that they had a "sense of entitlement" and "arrogance

Ep 135 Hollywood tries to figure out the female species and make a better marriage
Every marital relationship is unique. However, there are common warning signs and red flags that could indicate there are serious problems in a marriage.  If you find yourself with these concerns, do not ignore them and hope  that they will simply go away. They usually do not, and left  unacknowledged, they could even get worse. Instead, you need to have an open, honest, and respectful talk with your  spouse about the problems in your marriage. It can be a difficult  conversation to have, but it is necessary.

Ep 134 Biden Ignores D -Day /All Couples Fight: 11 Therapist-Approved Tips to Argue Fairly
All couples fight. It's completely natural, and comes with the territory of being in a relationship.  But when you find yourself bickering more than usual, it’s natural to  wonder, “How much fighting is too much?” and "Are we totally screwed?" Before  you freak out and think your relationship is doomed because you had two  fights last week, know this: it’s normal to have arguments and  disagreements with your partner, says Joseph Cilona,  Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist in New York City. "There is no  one correct formula when it comes to frequency of conflict, and there  is no one correct way to navigate conflict that’s right for all  couples,” he says.

Ep 133 - The Gold Digger Mentlity
The term "gold digger"—referring to a woman or man who pursues a romantic relationship primarily for its material benefits, entering into a quid pro quo,  more-or-less equal exchange of relationship for money or gifts—is  prevalent in pop culture and media. It is the name of a hit 2005 song  recorded by rapper Kanye West. The internet offers material including  advice on how to become a gold digger; advice on to how to avoid one; and rosters of famous gold diggers. The gold digger is also a prominent archetype in literary fiction.

Ep 132 Mom fights anti-White training in daughter’s kindergarten class
Rhode Island mother Nicole Solas is taking action against her daughter’s school district for refusing to share information on race theory-based curriculum. Solas joined "Tucker Carlson Tonight"  on Thursday to express her frustration with district management, and  shared that school guidelines bar teachers from calling their students  "boys and girls" and rethinks the American foundations of Thanksgiving. After  Solas’ inquiry on curriculum via public records request through the  Access to Public Records Act, a member of the school board accused her  of being "racist" during a public hearing.

Rocking with Hollywood- Five Secret Societies That Have Remained Shrouded in Mystery
Secret societies have flourished throughout history and count Founding Fathers and royals among their ranks. Members (most often men) have been tapped to join The Knights Templar, the Freemasons, the Bavarian Illuminati, Skull and Bones and Bilderberg. The allure of secret societies is part mystery, part legend. Conspiracy  theories have surrounded them for centuries, with rumors of groups like  the Illuminati being linked to everything from the French Revolution to the assassination of JFK. But it’s important to separate fact from fiction. Here are the real stories behind history’s most exclusive secret societies.

Ep 131 Swinging and Revenge Porn
What is Revenge Porn? Revenge Porn refers to the sharing of explicit or sexual, images or  videos, without the consent of the person in the image. This is an issue  among people of all ages from children as young as 11 to much older  adults. However, the most commonly reported incidents have come from  those who are in their teens to adults in their mid-twenties. This is  often due to a lack of available information and support regarding the  dangers and consequences of sharing explicit images. When did this become an issue? Reported cases of revenge porn have increased significantly in 2015  and 2016. With mobile phones becoming more and more intelligent and  cameras being included as a standard feature on most models, sharing  images has never been so quick and easy. This has led to an increase in  people sharing intimate images with their partners via social media,  text and other instant messaging services.

Ep 130 What Can We Expect From the Pentagon’s UFO Report?
One of the many curiosities packed into the $2.3 billion omnibus spending and coronavirus-relief package passed by Congress in December was a stipulation requiring the Department of Defense and the Office of  the Director of National Intelligence to deliver an unclassified report  on unidentified flying objects to Congress within six months, compiling what the government knows about about UFOs rocketing around over American airspace.

Ep 129 UNICEF Report Dismissing Pornography’s Harms to Children
Recently, the international child welfare agency UNICEF published their April 2021 report “Digital Age Assurance Tools and Children’s Rights Online across the Globe”  which caused widespread concern amongst child safety experts and  advocates. The way this report handled the issue of child exposure to  pornography was troubling.

EP 128 Cops Who Kill Often Catch a Break at Sentencing Time
Throughout the  murder trial, prosecutors showed jurors the video seen countless times  around the world of the white police officer killing a Black male. And  when it was over, the jurors found the officer guilty of murder. That  was in 2018. Now, as former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin  waits to be sentenced for killing George Floyd, it’s worth remembering  what happened in Chicago after a jury convicted a white police officer  in the shooting death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald: The judge didn't  follow prosecutors’ recommended 18-20 years behind bars. Former officer  Jason Van Dyke got a more lenient sentence — and might be released from  prison in about three years.

Ep 127 LIVE MORNING SHOW 5-26-2021
Every now and then, life tends to throw you a curve ball and a woman  wants to be able to rely on her man to remain strong no matter what  happens. Every now and then, life tends to throw you a curveball and a woman  wants to be able to rely on her man to remain strong no matter what  happens. She doesn’t want to have to be the strong one or “the man” and take  care of a scared, sensitive or insecure guy who can’t handle the  pressures of life as a human being. She wants to be able to relax into  being the more emotionally sensitive and vulnerable one, rather than  having to be strong for her guy because he is weak. All across the world, women are naturally attracted to the emotional  strength in men (e.g. confidence, determination, high self-esteem, calm  under pressure, etc) and turned off by the weakness (e.g. insecurity,  shyness, anxiety, nervousness, etc).

Ep 125 50 Men Spill Their Sexual Pet Peeves
My girlfriend constantly says “I gave you sex.” As in, she had sex  with me so I should do the dishes, or I should clean her car out because  she “gave” me sex. It makes me feel like she doesn’t love or care about  me, that sex is just a thing she puts up with so I can do favors for  her.

Ep 124 Frequently Asked Questions About Being an Escort
If you have decided to  make a career as an escort, you have surely heard from somebody about  it. You may know somebody who makes a lot of money out of it, or you  have read about it on the internet. Some escorts are known to earn much  more than the average working person in the UK would. To answer the  original question, you can surely make a lot of money by becoming an  escort.  However, like any business you need good exposure to clients. You need  to fight of the competition and make a name for yourself. In other  words, it can take some time for you to make more money. When you start  off, you need some help from somebody. In most cases, this is an agency  that supplies escorts to businessmen, celebrities and other clients. The  agency would take a finders fee for each client they give you also  known as commission.  Working for an escort agency is the best thing to do when starting out  as they take care of all the bookings and advertising needed to bring in  clients. Escort agencies will favor their more popular girls so it is  important to perform well with clients in order that the escort agency  receives good reviews. The more clients like you the more the agency  will favor you over other escorts. You need to provide the escort agency  with professional photography. The better your photos the more clients  you will get requesting a booking with you. If you don't have a good  photographer ask the escort agency if they can recommend someone.  When you begin you should be brave and learn the hooks of the business.  Most women would leave during the early stages, because they cannot  handle difficult situations with clients, or they are just not  comfortable with the whole thing. If you stay in the business, you will  eventually learn a lot and you will also get a lot smarter about dealing  with clients. Read more at:

Ep 123- The Nightmare of Cancer/ Treatments of Cancer/ Earliest known record of cancer An ancient Egyptian medical text, called the Edwin Smyth Papyrus, dates back to 1600 B.C. and is widely believed to contain the earliest known reference to a cancerous tumor. There’s evidence of cancer in roughly 200 individuals in the human fossil record, which seems like a very small number. It’s led to speculation that the disease didn’t ravage ancient peoples like it does modern ones. But although archaeological evidence is rare, it doesn’t mean cancer was nonexistent in ancient times

Ep 122 Top Ten Reasons to be a Swinger
There are very few things that draw partners together better than the social and sexual sharing of swinging. You may be thinking that you might not want to share your partner with someone else, consider that when you and your partner go to the movies together, you are not sharing them with the movie, rather the two of you share the experience of watching the movie. Shared experiences are the building blocks of a strong relationship. We are not suggesting you share your partner with anyone. We are suggesting that you share with each other the joys of experiencing other people mentally, emotionally and physically.

Ep 120 The True Test of a REAL Friend
Those are the ones who really deliver. It doesn’t matter how horrible  the dragon you’re facing is, they’re putting on a motorcycle helmet and  arming themselves with power drills and flamethrowers to fight beside  you. Whatever it takes. They do it because they love you and care about what happens in your life. Are you taking care to find and nurture THOSE kinds of friendships? Because these kinds of real friends don’t “just happen”… How to know if someone could be a REAL friend The best test of a person’s ability to be a true friend for you is to ask yourself these 2 questions about that person.

115 38 Hot Spots on a Man’s Body You Should Definitely Know About
Of course, it’s easy to forget that so many different body parts can be erogenous zones, especially when in the heat of the moment undressing your partner. Add in if you’ve been together a while, know what works for you both, and get into the same routine of making-out-then-straight-to-sex before bed, and you might be surprised how little these e-zones actually get play. Show your partner some extra love by focusing on these areas next time to go truly above and beyond.  Here are 38 expert-approved hot spots and erogenous zones worth spending a few extra moments with next time you’re down and dirty with a naked man. To make things even easier (because how workable is “Ears: This can be hot.”?) we’ve also paired each body part with some easy, non-awkward ways to incorporate these areas into your next roll in the hay.

From ancient wives’ tales to complex theories, the ways people analyze them continue to evolve.   Assigning certain meanings to dreams has gained traction in pop culture as both a source of entertainment and self-reflection. However, does anyone really know what dreams mean?   Some people may say that dreams are a way for your brain to process thoughts and feelings, but no one fully understands their purpose. To explore the possibilities, we’ve collected information on 15 of the most common themes and what they are said to mean.

Ep 113 13 signs of an insecure woman
Ep 113 13 signs of an insecure woman  There are different kinds of women. Some are confident in themselves, and others are the complete opposite and totally insecure.  Information is knowledge and with knowledge comes power.  It’s important you understand the signs of insecure women. This will help you figure out whether you want to continue seeing this girl.  Don’t kid yourself. We are all insecure to a degree and seeing a couple signals of insecurity isn’t enough evidence to throw in the towel.  If you think you are going to find a gal with zero insecurities, you are barking up the wrong tree. Mild insecurity is manageable. However, too much insecurity is a recipe for disaster.

Ep 112 23 weak signs of a man you shouldn't tolerate
Ep 112 23 weak signs of a man you shouldn't tolerate  Every strong woman dreams of having a great relationship with an alpha male, which you can read about in our other article.  Those guys are the real deal. But what if you are involved with a weak man? A guy’s weaknesses don’t show when he cries in front of you.  Crying is a healthy way of expressing emotions; it doesn’t contradict with what strength is.  But if you have a weak man who is just along for the ride, he will show the traits of a weak man.  The definition of a weak man is that it’s someone you carry through life. You have to do all the dirty work for him or not be with him at all.

Ep 108 Depression is a very real and treatable illness.
Ep 108 Depression is a very real and treatable illness.   But myths, misunderstandings, and stigma continue to be barriers to treatment for many, and the consequences of untreated depression can be life-threatening. Understanding the facts about depression, on the other hand, can save lives. Here are seven things everyone should know about depression and depressive disorders.  Depression Doesn't Always Have a "Good" Reason Sometimes people become depressed for what seems like a "good" reason—maybe they lost their job or a close friend passed away—but with clinical depression, there doesn't necessarily have to be a reason for how you feel. The chemicals in the brain that are responsible for mood control may be out of balance causing you to feel bad even though everything in your life is going well.

Ep 106 What first time swingers should expect when going to a club
Ep 106  What first time swingers should expect when going to a club   Some swinger clubs don’t allow public nudity, a few are all nude and others have mixed areas.  Swinger clubs usually have hospitality couples aka ambassador couples.  They can give you a tour, explain the swinger club behavior and rules, show you where you can store your party supplies, and introduce you to some regular attendees.  Many swinger clubs are BYOB since it is usually too much of a headache dealing with a liquor license for a sex club.  The bar can be self-serve or they might be a bartender to handle your BYOB alcohol supply.  If there is a bartender, it is nice to tip them each time they help you even if they are serving you your own alcohol. The bartenders can also help steer you towards other attendees that might be a good match for what you are seeking.  Swinger clubs come in all sizes & shapes. Imagine a night club but filled with friendly but nervous people showing plenty of skin as they compliment each other and act sexy without being judged. Your swinger club might have a handful of people attending or several hundreds of sexy people depending on the venue and weekend.   They often have private play areas but sometimes they only have shared play areas.  There is also a wide range of amenities depending on the club like indoor or outdoor swimming pools, hot tubs, sex dungeons, stripper poles, shower rooms, lockers, massage tables, and much more.  You should do some online research to make sure you pick a swinger club that has just what you want.

EP 105 Things outsiders don't know about bikers
The motorcycle culture is a mainstream society sub-culture that covers both a social community and a mode of transportation. The stereotype biker is a rebel who doesn't live by society's laws and norms, but instead has chosen to dedicate his life either to the club or to be an independent lone wolf.  That's the main difference between car culture and motorcycle culture - this perceived degree of freedom. Whereas someone who owns a railroad is portrayed as a hardworking, blue-collar guy who saves his money to build the car of his dreams part by part, the biker seems to be this happy-go-lucky dude who wakes up hungover at a campsite and moves on to the next destination for some more partying.

Episode 104 Some of the best biker destinations  There are tens of thousands of campsites across America, though not all offer breathtaking scenery. Many aren’t much more than a little dusty patch of earth with the only view being that of a restroom or a ginormous RV. Some, however, offer campers much more, including spectacular vistas, like these incredibly scenic campgrounds.

EP 101 Top 12 positions to make it last  If you happen to be one of the one-in-five men between the ages of 18 and 59 who suffers from premature ejaculation, sex with a partner carries an extra layer of anxiety.  Will you reach orgasm too quickly? Will she be disappointed? It feels like a crapshoot... only you're the one doing the shooting.  Desensitizing sprays like Promescent, condoms, and exercises like the squeeze technique or stop and start method can make a difference, especially over time. What many men don't realize, however, is that how you have sex can have as big of an impact on how quickly you orgasm.

Episode 98 History of Sturgis and the Jackpine Gypsies
The very first Sturgis motorcycle rally was held on August 14, 1938. The event was organized by the town’s motorcycle club called the Jackpine Gypsies who bought and developed large tracks, hill climbs and field areas where the rally would be held.  “Pappy” Hoel – Founder of the Sturgis Rally! It was Clarence Hoel or "Pappy" who was credited for founding the event when he bought a franchise of the Indian Motorcycle Company (a manufacturer of motorcycles in North Carolina) in Sturgis during 1936. After that, he organized the Jackpine Gypsies.  During the first few years, the Sturgis motorcycle rally focused on racing and stunts, testing the participant’s various riding skills, courage and stunt creativity. By the 1960s, the rally action expanded with hill climbs and motocross. Audiences saw more daredevil maneuvers like the half-mile track racing, ramp jumps, head-on automobile crashes and board wall crashes, the reasons for the tremendous popularity of the event today. The only time that the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was not held was in 1942, at the height of World War II.

Ep 97 What are some Urban Legends
Ep 97 What are some Urban Legends Urban legends are short stories typically about death, sex or crime, which are told as if they are true. They spread by word of mouth, the newspaper and any other means of communication to hand. The classic modern examples of the urban legends include the vanishing hitchhiker (a minority of urban legends have a supernatural component), the crocodile in the sewer and the mafia neighbours (young couple robbed have their goods returned by a elderly Italian couple down the road). How old are urban legends? Well don’t be put off by the name. Urban legends can be documented in ancient times and the only reason that they cannot be documented in prehistory is because there was no documentation to be had. In other words urban legends are part of the human condition: we are, as this site has never tired of pointing out, storytellers. But this brings us to an embarrassing question: where are the urban legends of the nineteenth-century? Where is the Vanishing Hitchhiker, the sewer crocodile and the mafia neighbours in the 1800s? After all, the nineteenth century was emphatically not prehistory, there was more documentation than in any other period prior to the 1900s and yet most lists of nineteenth-century urban legends are jejune and all too often based on misunderstandings of what urban legends really are.

Ep 96 What is sexual dysfunction?
Ep 96 What is sexual dysfunction?  Sexual dysfunction is a problem that can happen during any phase of the sexual response cycle. It prevents you from experiencing satisfaction from sexual activity.  The sexual response cycle traditionally includes excitement, plateau, orgasm and resolution. Desire and arousal are both part of the excitement phase of the sexual response. It’s important to know women don’t always go through these phases in order.  While research suggests that sexual dysfunction is common, many people don’t like talking about it. Because treatment options are available, though, you should share your concerns with your partner and healthcare provider.

Ep. 94 9 Sex Myths You Need to Stop Believing
Let’s talk about sex. Specifically, let’s talk about what people get wrong when it comes to sex. Despite progress in understanding sexuality and dismantling sexual taboos, there is still a ton of misinformation out there about pleasure, desire, conception, birth control, and more. In my work as a sex educator and writer, I’ve come across a host of false beliefs that have simultaneously made me want to hurl and correct them. I choose the latter. Ahead, nine of the most egregious myths I’ve encountered.

Ep 93 Most Common Sexual Fetishes
Ep 93 Most Common Sexual Fetishes The term “fetish” may evoke images of black bodysuits and complicated sexual contraptions, but you may already be acting out some of the most common examples, such as spanking. What defines a fetish, though, isn't what the activity or object of desire is so much as the role it plays in someone's life. “A fetish is typically referred to as a behavior that someone cannot get sexually aroused without. Fetishes can also be a term people use to describe a sexual arousal that is coupled with a typically non-sexual object,” says sexologist and psychologist Dense Renye.  While people use the terms "fetish" and "kink" interchangeably, a kink means an activity or behavior that someone enjoys that exists outside the "norm" of "traditional" sex. Someone's kink may be bondage, and they may be incredibly excited when they're tied up...or someone may have a bondage fetish, and their entire sexuality may revolve around restraint. Meanwhile, a turn-on may be something that simply arouses a person. It’s crucial to remember that people of all gender identities and orientations can be kinky, and what’s kinky to one person may be considered vanilla by another. And while being kinky still comes with social stigmas, Stephanie*, a 25-year-old woman involved in the New York City kink scene, says kinks are increasingly viewed as mainstream. “I always thought you couldn’t have an unconventional lifestyle and fall into success. Now I know you can live a kinky lifestyle and still be successful,” Stephanie says.

Ep. 92 How to Talk Dirty, Even If You’re Shy
Ep. 92  How to Talk Dirty, Even If You’re Shy Here’s why it’s worth moving past those fears: Adding verbal play to physical sexual activity creates a powerful, erotic combination. Dirty talk creates the best kind of tension, lacing sex with fantasy and anticipation. It also helps you express what you like and want in bed, serving not only as seduction but also as instruction. For that reason, it’s often lauded as a sexy, non-awkward, and non-disruptive way to give and receive sexual consent. (There’s no clearer way to express your desire, after all, than looking someone in the eye and saying “f—ck me.”) And while apart, combining some solo activity with something verbal and erotic can be an exciting change. Because you don't talk like this with other people, this private, shared language can be a source of closeness, and provide intimacy when you can’t be physically intimate. By verbalizing your desires, it’ll make your reunion all the more exciting.

But what we don’t know fills volumes. Observations from the ground and from space have confirmed thousands of planets beyond our solar system. Our galaxy likely holds trillions. But so far, we have no evidence of life beyond Earth. Is life in the cosmos easily begun, and commonplace? Or is it incredibly rare?

Ep 86 19 Weirdest things bikers say to other bikers We all know what the thrill of the open road can do to a guy. At least I assume we all do, since we are all here at Hot Cars either reading or writing (or doing both) about cars and trucks and how much we love them and love to drive them. If you’re not a guy who likes to put on a cool pair of shades, crank up the music, roll down the windows and blast down the road in search of open spaces then you might want to check out something different today. Unless you’re the kind of guy who wants to do everything I just described except in your truck in the mud and boulders instead of the open road. If you’re one of those guys you can stay- you’re part of the brotherhood for sure. Heck, I’ll even throw in those of you who like to pilot speedboats at high speed or have your pilot’s license and know that even a Cessna 150 or Piper Cub can be suitably thrilling when you get up in those blue, blue skies that seem to stretch forever.

Ep 84 10 Motorcycle Safety Tips For New Riders There’s no denying that motorcycles are cool, fun and fuel-efficient. But it’s also true that riding a motorcycle is more risky than driving a car. The reality is, a crash as a motorcyclist is almost 30 times more likely to be fatal than as a motorist, according to the Insurance Information Institute. There are plenty of dedicated riders who are able to steer clear of accidents and enjoy their bikes without incident–but their success comes from following basic motorcycle safety practices. To make sure you stay on the safe side of riding, here are ten ways to keep your rides incident-free.

Ep 83 10 things bikers hate about riding
Ep 83 10 things bikers hate about riding  It’s a beautiful weather and chrome on your bike is calling out to you. You plan a meeting with your friends and get on the road. Like any usual day, you take the longer but less congested road to the bar. Just when you take that right, there is a long queue stationary of cars and buses. Your trip has been ruined.  The idea behind riding is to feel the open road and the wind in your face. You don’t ride to smell the fumes from buses while you are standing for the traffic to move. People in cars are driving to get to a place, whereas bikers ride for the sheer joy of the riding.  Though bikers take lesser time in traffic than their friends in cars, but they also suffer much more. While they remain in their air-conditioned cages, bikers get exposed to fumes from their exhausts.

Ep.82 Hospice What is it and what is the stages of dying
Ep.82  Hospice  What is it and what is the stages of dying   Quality care at the end of life addresses a person's physical comfort, daily care, and emotional and spiritual needs. If you're caring for a family member or friend who's approaching the end of life, learn what to expect and how you can support end-of-life care.  Best practices in end-of-life care If a friend or family member has a life-limiting illness or is nearing death, you'll likely hear the terms "palliative care" and "hospice care."  Palliative care is care to alleviate pain and manage barriers to a good quality of life while undergoing treatment for a serious illness, such as cancer. Palliative care may begin early in treatment and continue even after disease treatment ends.  Hospice care is a service for a person who has discontinued disease-fighting treatments and is preparing to die. Hospice care services provide a means to monitor end-of-life care needs, coordinate professional and family caregiving, and address the entire spectrum of needs at the end of life. This care can be provided in the home, assisted-living residences, nursing homes, hospitals and hospice-care facilities.  Palliative and hospice care depend on a team of people with different specialties, including:  Doctors Nurses Home health aides Social workers or counselors Clergy or other spiritual advisors

Ep 77 What does being a biker mean
Ep 77 What does being a biker mean Oftentimes, motorcyclists are misunderstood. The general public usually considers them as rebellious individuals, who do not care about the law, who easily get into trouble, who meet up in bars and get drunk and do not accept anyone from outside. Just like in all categories, motorcyclists are different types of people. Some of them socialize strictly with other bikers, while others live normal lives, raise families, have normal jobs, and so on. It is true that certain events and motorcyclist organizations may have something to do with people’s opinions about them, but stigmatizing every biker is not correct either.

Ep 72 These might be the reasons you're alone bikers
Clearly, some people are single because they choose to be. They are  simply not interested in being in a serious relationship at this time in  their life. Others are single due to the circumstances of their lives.  They may have just gotten out of a meaningful relationship or have dated  relentlessly and just haven't found someone with whom they're truly  compatible.  The point of this article isn't to stereotype all single women or men or  to put anyone in a box. However, for people, particularly those over  30, who are looking for answers to the puzzling question "Why am I still  single?" here are some unconventional answers that lie within.  When it comes to dating and relationships, it's hard not to feel that  you are a victim. After all, others can be cruel; you will get hurt, and  no, it isn't always your fault. But the reality is that we hold more  power over our romantic destiny than we often think. To a great degree,  we create the world we live in, although we are rarely conscious of this  process.  We can, in fact, make a choice whether to see our fate through a  victimized lens or choose to be goal-directed and take power over our  lives. We benefit from focusing on what we can control and not what we  can't. We can become aware of the ways we influence the reactions we get  from others, even the negative reactions. So, the question for the  single person looking for love is: What are the internal challenges I  need to face?

EP 69 Drug use on the rise Drug of choice during covid 19
EP 69 Drug use on the rise Drug of choice during covid 19    The anxiety surrounding COVID-19, much like the disease itself, is  everywhere. Unfortunately, this has caused many people to turn to drugs  and alcohol as a means of coping with coronavirus-related stress.  New research conducted by the medical team at The Recovery Village, a  drug and alcohol rehabilitation company, shows just how devastating the  trend is. In a recent survey of 500 Florida adults, they found that  approximately 80 percent of individuals reported using alcohol in the  past month, more than 35 percent used marijuana, and upwards of 10  percent indicated using prescription opioids, benzodiazepines, cocaine,  or prescription stimulants. Furthermore, many of these people  acknowledged that they should cut back on their current consumption.  "Coronavirus has sparked an uptick in drug and alcohol use based on the  data we have been tracking," says Stacey Henson, LCSW, ACSW, of The  Recovery Village. "The most obvious explanation for this trend is the  increase in stress and anxiety that has been brought on by the  pandemic."

EP 68 Panic Attacks and Panic Disorders
EP 68 Panic Attacks and Panic Disorders   You might hear the terms "anxiety attack" and "panic attack" used  interchangeably, as if they mean the same thing. This is understandable  given that some of the symptoms of panic attacks and anxiety are  similar, including a rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, and  dizziness.  In practice, however, panic and anxiety have different features, and  behavioral health professionals use these terms for specific symptoms  and disorders.  Panic attacks are an abrupt surge of intense fear or discomfort  accompanied by other physical and mental symptoms.1 Anxiety, on the  other hand, is part of the emotional and protective responses hardwired  into the human body. It is when anxiety is excessive or gets in the way  of your life that there is cause for concern.

Ep67. The Serious Effects of Child Poverty
Ep67. The Serious Effects of Child Poverty Children from poorer backgrounds may not have the same opportunities as other young people their age. Many will have to work part-time jobs on the side of school, they may not have access to the same learning materials, or they will miss out on trips with mates because they simply can't afford it. They have to work harder to overcome the obstacles that modern life puts in front of them. Growing up in a household where money is tight can mean making do with a lot of things - second-hand clothes, basic food, hand-me-down textbooks. Children make the best of what they have but bullies often target those who look a bit different. If a child goes to school in the wrong uniform, maybe it's last year's blazer or massively too small, they get singled out. Teachers send them home, classmates pick on them. They're made to feel different.

Ep. 65 The 10 Golden Rules Of A Relationship
Your relationship is so important to you, and to treat it with the  supportive care that it needs to survive over the long-term, you need to  follow these 10 golden rules… Here Are 10 Golden Rules Every Relationship Needs To Know About 1. Fight fair  You and your partner will argue, but knowing how to fight fairly will be  an important skill to keep your relationship solid through the years.  Things will not always be fair, but they should always be respectful of  both partner’s needs. If one partner doesn’t get their way now, make  sure that there are opportunities for them to get their way in the  future.  The power balance in a relationship is often not balanced, especially  for male and female couples. Researchers found that a relationship where  the male partner had more power and was dominant were more likely to  last long-term. On the other hand, another study found that power  imbalances and unequal treatment was a reason that women more often  cited for breakups than men did. Check in with your partner to see how  they feel about the power balance in your relationship. 2. Honesty is really the best policy  Being accused of hiding something from your partner is not a great way  to establish trust, which is essential to a good relationship. Do your  very best to follow this golden rule that every relationship needs to  know because the consequences of being less than honest are lonely and  painful.  If you are unsure whether to tell your partner about something, ask  yourself if they found out another way if they would be upset.  Withholding information is likely to not win you any points with your  partner either. Flat out lying is definitely frowned upon. Trust, once  broken, is never quite the same again.

Episode 64- Is Marijuana is Safer than Alcohol
Is alcohol better than weed, or is it the other way around? It’s a  debate that’s gone on for decades.  Generally speaking, weed tends to come with fewer risks than alcohol,  but there are a lot of factors to consider.  Plus, they’re unique  substances that produce different effects, which makes side-by-side  comparisons difficult.  That said, we’ve rounded up the basic effects and risks associated with  each substance to see how they measure up to each other. Things to keep in mind  Before getting into comparing alcohol and weed, it’s important to  understand some of the factors that make the comparison tricky.  Lack of research  We know much more about alcohol than we do about weed. Sure, research on  the topic is ramping up a bit, but there’s still a lack of large,  long-term studies.  Weed may appear to be safer than alcohol simply because we aren’t yet  aware of certain risks.

Central Vapors is your vaping HQ and one-stop online vape shop for all  things vapor. Find the best e Juice flavors, take advantage of cheap  vape deals and buy Premium Vape Juice liquids in stores or right here  from Central Vapors online vape shop. It's a common misconception that jealousy is a sign of love. I  recently saw the following quote on Twitter, from a source whose  username at least suggested the author was associated with psychology:  “The people who are really in love get jealous over stupid things.” I  was surprised to see this misconception so deeply ingrained that even  seemingly psychologically savvy people believe it. Jealousy can be a  major relationship problem—a survey of marital therapists reported that  romantic jealousy was a serious problem for a third of their clients.1 I  hope to dispel the myth that jealousy is a sign of love. But if it's  not, then what really motivates jealous responses? Research has linked  several traits to greater jealousy:

Ep.61 10 Ways to Show Gratitude to Your Spouse
“Gratitude can transform common days into Thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” – Les Parrott Showing gratitude to your spouse is an important daily practice; it’s essential to nurturing a healthy marriage. There are many ways to express your thanks to your husband or wife, so today, we’re sharing 10 ideas for showing him or her your appreciation. 1.  Say it out loud…and more often! Intentionally saying thank you to your spouse more often is the simplest, most obvious way to show him or her your gratitude. It can be easy to neglect to thank your spouse for everyday tasks that may seem mundane. But you’ll find that your gratitude can transform your spouse’s view of these tasks, especially if he or she has been feeling bogged down. It doesn’t take much effort, but those two simple words go a long way. 2. Write a thoughtful card, note, or letter. Write a sweet note of thanks to your spouse and hide it where they can easily find it: in their lunchbox, on the dashboard of their car, on the bathroom mirror, or someplace similar. It’s amazing how a little note like that can brighten someone’s day. Even scribbling a message onto a sticky note can make all their daily efforts feel more worthwhile. 3. Give your spouse a break. A few hours of quiet time might very well be #1 on your spouse’s wish list, especially if he or she is overworked or caring for young children. Or they might just want a break from their regular tasks. Whatever the case, give him or her the opportunity to get that needed time, whether it means several hours to curl up with a book, or you taking over their chores for the day. (If you have children, take care of finding child care or keep the kids yourself.) 4. Cook a special dinner. Does your spouse have a favorite meal they love, or a recipe they’ve been dying to try? You do whip up a dish every once in awhile that brings back happy memories for you both? Set aside a little time to prepare a home-cooked meal just for him or her. Light some candles, play some music, and dine-in together at home.

Ep 60 The Decline of the American Fraternal Organizations
#LOYALORDEROFMOOSE #FREEMASONS #ELKS Ep 60 The Decline of the American Fraternal Organizations To Become a Member of the Loyal Order of Moose email me at  The International Order of Loyal Raccoons was once an important part of everyday life for TV characters Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton of "The Honeymooners." But like those characters from the 1950s television classic, fraternal organizations are in danger of becoming a grainy memory from years past. As older members die off and younger generations find civic groups irrelevant, membership in centuries-old civic clubs like the Moose, the Elks, the Optimists and others is dwindling. Organizations like the Odd Fellows, for instance, boasted about 1 million members in their 1940s heyday -- today, the Odd Fellows' ranks have thinned to half that number, according to a club spokesperson. Is there a future for civic groups in America?

Ep. 59 - Dealing with your spouses ex who is a police officer
Ep. 59 - Dealing with your spouses ex who is a police officer As the victim of a police officer, your situation is very different than that of other victims. If you have ever tried to get help you may have become discouraged because no one seemed to understand your plight. - Diane Wetendorf  Domestic abuse is an unfortunate reality of life. The fact that it is sometimes committed by law enforcement professionals is a harsh reality that many of us don't like to acknowledge, much less deal with professionally. That it exists is not a comment about law enforcement in general. We are all human. No one is perfect. Law enforcement professionals are not exempt. In this article, our Police Life contributor, Michelle Perin, talks candidly about its impact in the law enforcement community, law enforcement families, and her own experience with it. This could not have been an easy article for her to write and we hope that readers approach it with an open heart and mind. This is not a "police-critical" article. Law enforcement as a whole is not being indicted here.

Ep 57 How do you know you found your Soul mate
Ep 57 How do you know you found your Soul mate  Once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings infinite distances continue, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole against the sky. –Rainer Maria Rilke This beautiful quote creates a wonderful visual for what a healthy relationship requires. No matter how close two people are, they are still two separate entities with their own unique qualities. The space between you and another allows for each individual to maintain his/her own identity and integrity. Personal growth and growth alongside another occurs when we learn to live with and love another’s uniqueness as we would want for ourself. And that last sentence, “for each to see the other whole against the sky” means that a healthy relationship, the right partner, wants all of you, not just some pieces that they like, but everything about you. But before we get into the specifics of how you know you’re with the right one, it’s important to identify the essential qualities of a good relationship. Trust is an absolute. We learn trust from our past relationships. If we’re lucky, these have been largely positive and we feel safe with those we rely on. Trust implies reliability, stability, and consistency. Being trustworthy implies openness and a willingness to be forthcoming. Things are as they are and there is no hidden agenda or deception.

EP. 56 What to Do After a First Date If You Want a Second - Chinadoll is in trouble
EP. 56 What to Do After a First Date If You Want a Second    Is there anything better than a great first date? Even if you came in  with the jitters, that can all be forgotten if you felt that certain,  special spark. After a great first date, there’s the excitement and  anticipation—that feeling that you could be at the beginning of  something great. But wait, before you get too excited, slow down for a  second. .  You need to get to that second date first. To help you get there, here  are a few tactics that’ll let your date know you’re open for more. Step 1: Follow up. There are no rules about who calls who. If you’re a woman and feel like a  guy needs to call you first, just know that you’re following some  outdated dating standards. If you like someone, don’t waste your time  constantly checking your cell phone. Text them and let them know you’d  like to see them again.  Find out more

Ep. 55 Discrimination against Swingers Clubs
Ep. 55 Discrimination against Swingers Clubs MARKHAM, Ill. — The mayor of Markham has been working to close some  of the south suburb’s seedier spots, including an adult swingers club  that has been around for more than three decades. WGN Investigates previously reported how the mayor took the club, called Couples Choice, to court late last year and claimed it was operating as an illegal business. Before the pandemic hit, the club may have closed but the parties didn’t stop. And that’s causing more trouble in Markham. “You know, there’s nothing wrong with what we do,” Couples Choice  owner Tim Geary said. “Everyone enjoys themselves here. I don’t know  what the problem Markham has with us.” Geary said the club is now closed. His son, Cameron Geary, lives at the property, which has a dance floor and 18 bedrooms.

Ep. 54 Taking your life back from social media- you will be happy you did
“I’m quitting social media,” you declare. Suddenly a feeling of freedom washes over you as you’re no longer concerned with likes, views and who’s doing what. You stop hunching over your phone and your posture straightens, elongating your spine and immediately you’re an inch taller than just before. You weightlessly drift away from the endless scroll to a trailhead in the mountains. Your free time is filled by strolling through meadows, journalism, meditation, long conversations and lots and lots of “being present.” Or at least that’s what some of the “I quit social media and it changed my life” blog posts would have you believe. Unfortunately, dropping social media alone will not lead you to full self-actualization. But that doesn’t mean the idea is entirely without merit, either. In improving your health and wellness, no one change is going to drastically alter your entire life (We know. We’re sorry. We were really hoping it would be green smoothies.). A series of small behavioral changes that lead to positive habits make a lasting impact. Can quitting social media be one of those changes? Absolutely. Some research suggests that social media is harming us in several ways. But that doesn’t mean it’s all bad and cutting it off entirely could have both positive and negative effects on your life. We weigh the pros and cons.

Ep 53 Covid19 worsens social isolation
#COVID #COVID19VACCINES #CORONAVIRUS Ep 53   Covid19 worsens social isolation For many older Americans, loneliness and isolation were already a problem. The covid-19 pandemic and its associated lock downs have often increased that sense of isolation, especially at holiday time when visits by family would be most welcome. This year, news and social media have been filled with images of families standing outside nursing facilities, trying to communicate with their relatives through closed windows and cell phones. "We've all seen images of family members who were not able to visit their loved ones in assisted or skilled nursing facilities or the hospital during this time of physical distancing," said Brittney Schrick, assistant professor and extension family life specialist for the University of Arkansas System Agriculture Division. "Ultimately, the pandemic has made worse an issue that was already bad," she said. "In addition to limiting visitation within families, the pandemic shut down gatherings like churches and clubs and most other ways that people would meet regularly." And it's not just older people. The American Psychological Association's Stress in America poll found that found that 78% of adults say the coronavirus pandemic is a significant source of stress in their lives, while 60% say the number of issues America faces is overwhelming to them. When asked specifically about covid, the average reported stress level for U.S. adults related to the coronavirus pandemic was 5.9 out of 10. When asked to rate their stress level in general, the average reported stress level for U.S. adults was 5.4. The American Psychological Association says this marks the first significant increase in average reported stress since the survey began in 2007.

EP. 52 The pros and cons of drug legalization in the U.S.
Drug legalization could reduce government costs and raise tax revenues, but opponents worry over health and social ills State governments facing massive fiscal deficits might consider a rather unusual way to alleviate those debts – through the legalization of drugs like marijuana and thereby ending the costly drug war. In a study for the Cato Institute, Jeffrey A. Miron, senior lecturer on economics at Harvard University and a senior fellow at Cato, and Katherine Waldock, professor of economics at New York University, estimate that legalizing drugs would save the government approximately $41.3 billion annually on expenditures related to the enforcement of prohibition. Of those savings, $25.7 billion would accrue to state and local governments, while $15.6 billion would accrue to the federal government. Miron and Waldock estimate that of that $41.3 billion in savings, about $8.7 billion would result from the legalization of marijuana alone and $32.6 billion from the legalization of other drugs, like cocaine and heroin. Just as important, drug legalization would translate into higher tax revenues generated by the sale of these newly-legalized products in the open commercial marketplace. Drug legalization would yield tax revenues of $46.7 billion annually, assuming legal drugs were taxed at rates comparable to those on alcohol and tobacco, they said. Approximately $8.7 billion of this revenue would result from the legalization of marijuana, $32.6 billion from legalization of cocaine and heroin, and $5.5 billion from legalization of all other drugs.

Ep. 51 Should Prostitution Be Legal
Ep. 51 Should Prostitution be legal? Prostitution is a sensitive subject in the United States. Frequently, arguments against prostitution center around concern for the health and safety of women, and those concerns are not unfounded. Prostitution is an incredibly dangerous profession for the (mostly) women involved; sexual assault, forced drug addiction, physical abuse, and death are common in the industry. For the women who work in this field, it is often very difficult to get help or get out. Many sex workers were sold into sex trafficking at a very young age and have no resources with which to escape their forced prostitution, or started out as sex workers by choice only to fall victim to sex trafficking later on. Moreover, since prostitution is illegal in most places in the United States, there are few legal protections in place for prostitutes; many fear that seeking help will only lead to arrest, and many who do seek help are arrested and then have to battle the stigma of a criminal record while they try to reintegrate into society. So why is the response to such a dangerous industry to drive it further underground, away from societal resources and legal protections? When people argue prostitution should be illegal, in many cases their concern comes from a place of morality, presented as concern for the health and safety of women. People believe that legalizing prostitution will only lead to the abuse of more women, will make it harder for prostitutes to get out of the industry, or will teach young women that their bodies exist for the sole purpose of sexual exploitation by men. However, legalizing prostitution has had positive benefits for sex workers across Europe. The most well-known country to have legalized prostitution is the Netherlands, where sex work has been legal for almost twenty years. Bringing the industry out of the black market and imposing strict regulations has improved the safety of sex workers. Brothels are required to obtain and renew safety and hygiene licenses in order to operate, and street prostitution is legal and heavily regulated in places like the Red Light District. Not only does sex work become safer when it is regulated, but legalization also works to weed out the black market that exists for prostitution, thereby making women safer overall. Also, sex workers are not branded as criminals, so they have better access to the legal system and are encouraged to report behaviors that are a danger to themselves and other women in the industry. Finally, legalizing sex work will provide many other positive externalities, including tax revenue, reduction in sexually transmitted diseases, and reallocation of law enforcement resources

EP 49 How to Cope with a spouse with Bipolar Disorder
EP 49 How to Cope with a spouse with Bipolar Disorder If you’re married to someone living with bipolar disorder, you already know it’s a rough ride sometimes. The mood swings can make your days together sometimes exhilarating and other times frustrating. Yet you and your bipolar spouse can beat the dire statistics that predict the end of many of these marital unions. New Orleans resident “Mary” has been married to her husband for 25 years. Almost halfway through their marriage, he was hospitalized at age 42 and received a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. The diagnosis was not surprising due to a strong family history — but it helped to clarify the situation, says Mary, age 51. “The diagnosis made it easier, because you know the reason, but it doesn’t change anything. It is a roller coaster. You can have months that are perfectly fine and then all of a sudden it will come from nowhere,” she says. Mary says she knows the statistics showing higher rates of divorce and abuse in marriages that include one spouse with bipolar disorder. She describes her husband as a “rapid cycler” (“On a day to day basis you never know what it’s going to be,” she explains) and says there are many days and weeks when she is tired, frustrated, and wondering why she is still married. After so many years of marriage and successfully raising a daughter together, she has developed a philosophical and compassionate view of her husband and her relationship.

EP.48 The Great Divide Racism in America
EP.48 The Great Divide Racism in America Today, many Americans observe Juneteenth, a long-celebrated holiday in the Black community that commemorates when the news that slavery had been abolished reached Galveston, Texas in 1965, two years after Abraham Lincoln first issued the Emancipation Proclamation. This year’s Juneteenth celebration comes at a time when race occupies the forefront of our national consciousness. Scholars are working to help us understand how racism has come to dominate our society and what we can do to change it. A prime example of this work is a sweeping new review article "The Psychology of Racism," scheduled to be published this year in American Psychologist, the journal of the American Psychological Association. In it, the authors compile a wide range of academic literature to identify seven factors that contribute to racism today in the U.S. “People often define racism as disliking or mistreating others on the basis of race. That definition is wrong,” Steven Roberts, a Stanford University psychologist and lead author of the paper, told Stanford News. “Racism is a system of advantage based on race. It is a hierarchy. It is a pandemic. Racism is so deeply embedded within U.S. minds and U.S. society that it is virtually impossible to escape.”

Episode 47 Why We Fear Death and How to Overcome It
Ep 47 Why We Fear Death and How to Overcome It Death—what isn’t there to be afraid of? It’s the ultimate end! But while some people dread death, others accept it as inevitable. So why do some people fear it more than others? It turns out that the way we think about death can affect how we think and act in daily life. For example, a 2016 study found that fear of death could amplify our desire for revenge and political violence. Palestinian, Israeli, and South Korean participants were prompted to think about personal pain or death, and then asked about their opinions about how specific political conflicts should be resolved. Those who were reminded of death were more likely to support military action than those who only thought about pain. Fearing death also makes it harder for us to process grief. A recent study found that those who were afraid of death were more likely to have prolonged symptoms of grief after losing a loved one compared to those who had accepted death. For healthcare workers who care for dying patients, their own fear of death may get in the way of effectively communicating with patients and their families. There are some things that may subtly, or not so subtly, affect how much we fear death.

Ep.46 The Pros and Cons of polygamy
Ep 46 The Pros and Cons of polygamy According to genetic studies, it is only relatively recently, about 10,000 years ago, that monogamy began to prevail over polygamy in human populations. Monogamous unions may have developed in tandem with sedentary agriculture, helping to maintain land and property within the same narrow kin group. Polygamy may enable a male to sire more offspring, but monogamy can, in certain circumstances, represent a more successful overall reproductive strategy. By sticking with the same female, a male is able to ensure that the female’s offspring are also his, and prevent this offspring from being killed by male rivals intent on returning the female to fertility (breastfeeding being a natural contraceptive). Historically, most cultures that permitted polygamy permitted polygyny (a man taking two or more wives) rather than polyandry (a woman taking two or more husbands). In the Gallic War, Julius Cæsar claimed that, among ancient Britons, ‘ten and even twelve men have wives in common’, particularly brothers, or fathers and sons—which to me sounds more like group marriage than polyandry proper. Let’s talk about the rarer polyandry first. Polyandry is typically tied to scarcity of land and resources, as, for example, in certain parts of the Himalayas, and serves to limit population growth. If it involves several brothers married to the one wife (fraternal polyandry), it also protects the family’s land from division. In Europe, this was generally achieved through the feudal rule of primogeniture (‘first born’), still practised among the British aristocracy, by which the eldest legitimate son inherits the entire estate (or almost) of both his parents. Primogeniture has antecedents in the Bible, with, most notably, Esau selling his ‘birthright’ to his younger brother Jacob. Today, most countries that permit polygamy—invariably in the form of polygyny—are countries with a Muslim majority or sizeable Muslim minority. In some countries, such as India, polygamy is legal only for Muslims. In others, such as Russia and South Africa, it is illegal but not criminalized.

Ep 45 What is Polyamory and does it work?
#POLAMORY #ALTERNATIVELIFESTYLE #MONOGAMY  Ep 45  "Things are opening up": Non-monogamy is more common than you'd think More Americans than you might think are openly involved with multiple  sexual or romantic partners at the same time. How is this different from  cheating? It's all above board.  It's estimated that 4% to 5% of people living in the U.S. are currently  participating in what's known as consensual or ethical non-monogamy, a  practice in which partners maintain more than one sexual or romantic  relationship with each others' knowledge and consent. For comparison,  that means non-monogamy is about as prevalent as the number of Americans  who identify as LGBTQ, which is estimated to be about 4.5% of the  American population.  "What's unusual today is that in open relationships, people are  transparent," Helen Fisher, a New York-based biological anthropologist  who studies human sexuality, says in the CBSN Originals documentary,  "Non-monogamy."  According to a 2016 study in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy,  about 20% of single U.S. adults reported that they have engaged in  consensual non-monogamy at some point in their life. And if you imagine  it's only young, liberal, city-dwellers taking part — think again. It's a  cross-section of all types of people. That same study found that age,  education level, income, religion, region of the country, political  affiliation, and race did not impact the likelihood that someone would  engage in consensual non-monogamy.

EP 44 What happened to the Nuclear family unit
EP 44 What happened to the Nuclear family unit #FAMILY #NUCLEARFAMILY #FAMILYVALUES Check out Something Souther Something NEW on Etsy KYLIESCUSTOMSCREATION$ or on Facebook EP. 44 As fewer and fewer children grow up in nuclear family units—today, less than half of all children are living with two parents in their first marriage, a significant decline from 1960 when nearly two-thirds were—this American vision of family life is both increasingly uncommon and incompatible with the demands of modern life. There’s universal agreement that family life has become harder and less stable for everyone, at least by some metrics, and that’s especially true for working-class folks. And yet we don’t yet have any model of family life to replace the nuclear family. That’s because, Brooks writes, “while social conservatives have a philosophy of family life they can’t operationalize, because it’s no longer relevant, progressives have no philosophy of family life at all.” Seldom do I agree with Brooks, but on this point, he’s correct.  Progressives are finally beginning to understand that the decline of nuclear families among working-class and poor folks is better understood as one symptom of growing economic inequality, not its cause, as conservatives typically contend. But the right continues to argue that decades of deviation from the nuclear family unit is a sign of cultural decay, employing fears about “family breakdown” as a dog whistle intended to blame black people for their own hardships. The pundit class, meanwhile, is locked into a debate over the best way to rebuild nuclear families, rather than explore alternative arrangements or philosophies of family life that might serve us all better.

#DONALDTRUMP #JOEBIDEN #ELECTION2020 Ep.43 The Most important election in American History is Here You have a choice in this election on which way this country will go. The choices are clear and the countries fate is in your hands. Under President Trump’s leadership, Congress passed historic tax cuts and relief for hard-working Americans. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:    Is the first major tax reform signed in 30 years.    Provided tax relief for 82% of middle-class families.    Doubled the Child Tax Credit proving an additional $1,000 per child in tax relief for working parents.    Nearly doubled the standard deduction, a change that simplified the tax filing process for millions of Americans.    Cut taxes for small business by 20%, providing $415 billion in tax relief for small business owners.    Alleviated the tax burden on over 500 companies. who used those savings to fund bonuses, wage increases for 4.8 million workers.    Spurred new investments into the American economy, after it was passed businesses invested $482 billion into new American projects.    Repealed Obamacare’s burdensome individual mandate.    Made U.S. companies competitive on the world stage, lowering the corporate tax rate from one of the highest in the industrialized world (35%) to 21%. U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth has soared under President Trump, topping 3% in 4 quarters under his administration.    2018 annual GDP growth was 2.9%    In the first quarter of 2019 GDP growth was 3.1% President Trump is unleashing economic growth and jobs. Ep. 42 The Two Tier Justice system Cash Bail Reform Justice: Race, Class, and Crime Policy
EP.42 Since 1954, a thriving black middle class has emerged, along with growing numbers of Latinos and other groups who are reaping the rewards of a multicultural society. And, of course, the ascent of the nation’s first black President only accentuates the achievements of many African American professionals in recent decades. Lurking not far below the surface, though, is the grim reality of a society that in many respects is as segregated as ever, and arguably one with declining opportunities for those left behind in the changing economic climate. In many of the nation’s urban areas, large numbers of the generation that grew up after the Civil Rights Movement now toil in low-wage or underground economies, with only distant connections to the national, let alone global, economy. And in the most profound betrayal of the promise of integration and opportunity, the United States has created a world-record prison population, fueled by policies that have exposed substantial portions of African Americans to the life-changing consequences of the criminal justice system. What is cash bail? Three out of 5 people in U.S. jails today have not been convicted of a crime. This amounts to nearly half a million people sitting in jails each day, despite the fact that they are legally innocent of the crime with which they have been charged. Most jurisdictions in the country operate a cash bail system, in which the court determines an amount of money that a person has to pay in order to secure their release from detention. The cash amount serves as collateral to ensure that the defendant appears in court for their trial. What is wrong with cash bail? In effect, the cash bail system criminalizes poverty, as people who are unable to afford bail are detained while they await trial for weeks or even months. Cash bail perpetuates inequities in the justice system that are disproportionately felt by communities of color and those experiencing poverty.

Ep 41 Religious Freedom Is Under Attack Like Never Before
EP.41  Historically, religion and its adherents have been often oppressed by  government. By contrast, America has been singular in its dedication to  preserving the freedom of its people to expect and experience religious  freedom. That is now rapidly changing.  The number of violent attacks on churches and church gatherings  witnessed in recent months is unsettling. Protesters and rioters across  the country have decapitated statues of Jesus, desecrated images of the  Virgin Mary and vandalized monuments to a Jesuit priest.  Churches—in  Washington, D.C. and California—have been set ablaze as "symbols of  oppression." Fire, chain and boot are the tool and trade of a culture  laying siege to religious freedom.  Using the pandemic as an excuse, elected officials have threatened to  permanently shut down synagogues, banned drive-in church services and  forbidden singing or chanting in religious services, while decreeing  that massive protests with shouting and singing are allowed.

Ep. 40 Riots Raging across America over police shooting death of Walter Wallace Jr in Philadelphia
Riots Erupt Across America Episode 40   Riots Raging across America over police shooting death of Walter Wallace Jr in Philadelphia    Hundreds of protesters marched through the US city of Philadelphia for a second night, demanding racial justice after police fatally shot a black man. The family of Walter Wallace Jr says he was suffering a mental health crisis when officers opened fire on him. Police say they shot him because he would not drop a knife he was holding. The National Guard as well as police reinforcements have been deployed. Authorities say 30 officers were hurt during Monday night clashes. The city's police have also accused protesters of looting and ransacking businesses during the unrest. Mr Wallace, 27, had bipolar disorder, and his wife told officers this before they shot him, a lawyer representing his family said. Philadelphia also saw large protests earlier this year over police brutality and racism following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.

Ep. 39 "LIVE" The opioid crisis during the Covid -19 Pandemic
Episode 39 The opioid crisis during the Covid -19 Pandemic is Sky rocketing   2018 data shows that every day, 128 people in the United States die  after overdosing on opioids.1 The misuse of and addiction to  opioids—including prescription pain relievers, heroin, and synthetic  opioids such as fentanyl—is a serious national crisis that affects  public health as well as social and economic welfare. The Centers for  Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total "economic  burden" of prescription opioid misuse alone in the United States is  $78.5 billion a year, including the costs of healthcare, lost  productivity, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement.2 How did this happen? In the late 1990s, pharmaceutical companies reassured the medical  community that patients would not become addicted to prescription opioid  pain relievers, and healthcare providers began to prescribe them at  greater rates. This subsequently led to widespread diversion and misuse  of these medications before it became clear that these medications could  indeed be highly addictive.3,4 Opioid overdose rates began to increase.  In 2017, more than 47,000 Americans died as a result of an opioid  overdose, including prescription opioids, heroin, and illicitly  manufactured fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid.1 That same year, an  estimated 1.7 million people in the United States suffered from  substance use disorders related to prescription opioid pain relievers,  and 652,000 suffered from a heroin use disorder (not mutually  exclusive).5 What do we know about the opioid crisis? Roughly 21 to 29 percent of patients prescribed opioids for chronic pain  misuse them.6 Between 8 and 12 percent develop an opioid use disorder.6  An estimated 4 to 6 percent who misuse prescription opioids transition  to heroin.7–9  About 80 percent of people who use heroin first misused prescription  opioids.7

EP.38 Small Business are being devastated by Covid-19 Lock downs/ WHEN IS ENOUGH-ENOUGH?
Businesses are being devastated by Covid-19 epidemic Because of Lock downs/When is enough enough? Episode 38 Businesses are being devastated by Covid-19 epidemic The World Health Organization say Lock downs cause more harm than good. Then why are they still happening . Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Friday once again began imposing draconian corona virus lock downs on the Windy City’s beleaguered businesses, but owners are at last beginning to organize against the rules. Small business used to define America’s economy. The pandemic could change that forever. "That would be pretty devastating to our business. Myself and I think a lot of other breweries and really restaurants and bars are already very nervous about wintertime and kind of what's going to happen," said Castor. "It would be super difficult if we had to shut down again." 'Hopefully our dream is not broken.' Asian American businesses hit especially hard during pandemic As COVID-19 spreads through rural America, new infection numbers are rising to peaks not seen during this pandemic and pushing hospitals to their limits. Many towns are experiencing their first major outbreaks, but that doesn’t mean rural communities had previously been spared the devastating impacts of the pandemic

Ep.37 The Darkside and Downside to the Swingers Lifestyle
EP.37 As exciting and awesome as the rewards of swinging can be, the lifestyle does come with some real worries & risks. You should talk with your partner to see if you are both comfortable with the risks and share your worries with each other.  You want to work together when deciding if the risks are worth the potential rewards of swinging. To help explain the risks you may encounter in swinging, let’s think of your relationship as a car. Right now, you are driving around in your car on local roads doing the speed limit. Your car might have a few dings in it from small things, like a shopping cart bumping into it. Those are your standard vanilla fights. Most relationships can handle driving on local roads with ease. You are moving at a manageable speed with few road hazards and the occasional pothole that can be handled easily at these low speeds. The swinging lifestyle is like taking your car onto the highway and hitting the gas pedal.  A small pothole can become a big problem when you are doing 70mph sandwiched between SUVs and dealing with an 18-wheel tractor trailer weaving into your lane. you want to do everything you can to spot and avoid these potholes.  What potholes might you encounter in the lifestyle?

EP.36 The New Chinadoll Advice Column/What's your issues?
EP.36 Taking someone else’s advice, even when you ask for it, is difficult.  Entire studies have been conducted just to understand the widespread  phenomenon of “advice discounting.”  But even as we ignore the well-intentioned suggestions of our friends,  families and therapists, many of us come back week after week to the  advice columns published by a slew of print and digital media outlets.  It’s hard to say exactly how many people read advice columns, but it’s  clear that many have built devoted followings over the years. The  workplace-focused “Ask a Manager,” for example, receives 2.4 million  visits a year and 50 questions a day, writes Alison Green, the author  behind that column for the past decade, writes in Vox. Several advice  columnists, including Green and Ask Polly’s Heather Havrilesky, have  parlayed their success into books.

Ep 35. How to rekindle your marriage and sex life
Ep.35 There is a popular belief in the marriage and relationship world that when the doldrums hit and you find yourself more numb than really alive, you should look for ways to get back what you once had. Call it a spark. A zest. A passion. Whatever. The point is, something’s missing and since you once had it – you can go back and find it again. Wrong. Life is not lived backwards. Our past is important. Who we once were is what our spouse found attractive (since that person caught the eye of your spouse and reeled them in the rest of the way). But the previous version of you is long gone and trying to go back and find him/her is a path to more frustration. While you may be able to produce a brief spark by reminiscing about when you were dating, it won’t be a lasting spark. The main reason – you’re up against the “love drug” in your brain. When you first met and fell in love with your spouse you both experienced a chemically induced high. Your brain flooded with a chemical called Phenylethylamine (PEA), which remains in your brain from 6 months to 2 years. PEA produces a feeling of euphoria, a sense of belonging, and a feeling of obsession (which is why you want to talk and be with your new found love every moment). As PEA fades over time (and it will) many people believe that you can recreate the same levels of emotion within the relationship. Problem is, you can’t. You cannot go back a manufacture PEA in your brain within the same relationship (although I’m sure the pharmaceutical companies are trying to figure out a way).

Ep. 34 The many wonders and uses for the cannabis plant/ aka marijuana /aka mary jane
EP. 34  The many wonders and uses for the cannabis plant aka marijuana aka mary  jane  Today, more than 150 million people regularly smoke cannabis, making it  one of the world's most popular recreational drugs. But when and where  humans began to appreciate the psychoactive properties of weed has been  more a matter of speculation than science Cannabis, also known as hemp or marijuana, evolved about 28 million  years ago on the eastern Tibetan Plateau, according to a pollen study  published in May. A close relative of the common hop found in beer, the  plant still grows wild across Central Asia. More than 4000 years ago,  Chinese farmers began to grow it for oil and for fiber to make rope,  clothing, and paper. Cannabis can be found in various forms, and the health benefits of  cannabis is ever growing, here Tara Leo of Cali Extractions gives us an  insight regarding the diverse benefits of the plant. Cannabis contains CBD which is a chemical that impacts the brain, making  it function better without giving it a high along with THC which has  pain relieving properties. Both substances can be extracted and enhanced  for use through short path distillation. Users can get the following  health benefits of cannabis:

EP.33 Surviving a sexless marriage /Why You’re Having Less Sex with Your Partner — How to Get Back Into It
Ep.33 First, determine whether a sexless marriage bothers you What’s  essential for you and your partner, besides figuring out whether you  meet a specific frequency, is to define what sex means to each other.  Stop relying on internet stories or other couples’ experiences to  dictate what’s “normal.” No one, except for the individuals in the  relationship, should decide if being in a sexless partnership is  concerning. Everyone is different. If you and your partner are content  with having sex every quarter or once a year, then that’s fine. But  if one of you is feeling hurt from not having your sexual needs met,  then this is a sign the relationship agreement isn’t working and needs  to be modified. Sometimes an escalation in fantasies or actions can  be a result of feeling less intimate with your partner. For example, if  you’re starting to feel resentful and fantasizing about having sex with  your co-worker, it might be because you haven’t connected physically  with your partner for a while. Dr. Becker-Warner outlines other factors to consider: You can’t remember the last time you and your partner enjoyed sexual intimacy.    Sexual intimacy is the last thing you want to think about, or your  heart hurts when considering the state of sexual intimacy with your  partner.    There’s hesitancy and/or avoidance of initiating  physical touch, either because of the potential rejection or the  possibility that it’ll lead to unwanted sex.    Other forms of intimacy (touching, love languages, etc.) are also lacking in your relationship.    You feel disconnected from your partner.    You feel that sex is only when the genitals (particularly the penis and penetration) are involved.

EP.32 The case of Walter McMillian -We have a new way of looking at the death penalty
EP.32 The case of Walter McMillian -New way of looking at the death penalty Walter "Johnny D." McMillian (October 27, 1941 – September 11, 2013)[1] was an African-American pulpwood worker from Monroeville, Alabama, who was wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to death. His conviction was wrongfully obtained, based on police coercion and perjury; in the 1988 trial, under a controversial doctrine called "judicial override", the judge imposed the death penalty, even though the jury imposed a sentence of life imprisonment. From 1990 to 1993, the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals turned down four appeals; in 1993, after McMillian had served six years on Alabama's death row, the Court of Criminal Appeals reversed the lower court decision and ruled that he had been wrongfully convicted. The controversial case received national attention beginning in the fall of 1992, when it was featured in the CBS News program 60 Minutes. Two books have been written on the case, including Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, which was adapted into a feature film of the same name in which Jamie Foxx portrays McMillian.

Ep. 31 Why do woman fall for bikers ? Women fall for bad boys because it's in their nature
EP.31  Women fall for bad boys because it's in their nature. Science says that  when a woman is in her ovulation stage, her hormones influence who she  sees as a great father figure for her future children. Near ovulation  time, girls are attracted to good looking, charismatic, and rebellious  boys. Bright Side is sharing scientific proof of why women can easily become  blinded by men who have characteristics of a “bad boy” personality. These wicked boys wouldn’t have the power to attract girls if their  level of confidence was low. The point is that the level of confidence  they possess is so high, it seems like their attitude is overflowing  with it, which can be seen in their friends, the vehicle they drive, the  food they choose to eat, and so much more.

Awkward Conversations provides you with a template for what to say — and what not to say — and why, so you can have those difficult discussions without them turning into full-blown fights. It's a phantom thought that has occurred to most people in a long-term relationship: What if we had a threesome? That super sexy scene from that movie I watched last week — could I recreate that with my girlfriend? It's the ultimate fantasy, but it's definitely not an easy thing to bring up with the person you're dating! Here are some tips you can use to ensure that the dreaded Threesome Conversation goes smoothly.

Ep 28. How to get out of a bad relationship- Here are 9 steps you can take
Ep 28 How to get out of a bad relationship- Here are 9 steps you can take Some say love is the meaning of life. After all, it’s one of the most written about topics of all time. The Indian film industry itself churns out more than 1500 films a year, all of which stereo-typically contain at least a subplot of love (1). Music, too, is filled with lyrics of love, from courtship to heartbreak. It is often said that there is someone for everyone. However, it can be difficult to find the right person. It’s no wonder that we tend to hook onto relationships that we get into, with an eager willingness to stay with the other. However, sometimes, it’s best to leave. Only therapists that offer relationship counseling seem to profit from people staying in bad relationships.

Ep 26 How Common is Cheating & Infidelity Really
#CHEATING #CHEATINGSPOUSE #INFIDELITY EP 26 The general thinking about why people cheat on a committed relationship partner is that there is a problem with either the cheater or the relationship. Often, we assume that cheaters have a pathology, some unresolved trauma or dysfunction, or at best a form of emotional immaturity, that pushes them into infidelity. Other times, we assume that the primary relationship is flawed in some significant way that creates a perceived need for external sex and intimacy. Either way, we tend to view infidelity as symptomatic of underlying problems. The cheater and/or the relationship is troubled, and cheating is the result. And guess what, more often than not, this is the case. Sometimes the cheater has an attachment deficit disorder. Sometimes the cheater has unresolved childhood trauma and uses the excitement of illicit sex and romance as a distraction from painful feelings. Sometimes the cheater knows that he or she is in a lousy relationship and uses those feelings to justify the infidelity or to locate a new partner before abandoning the old one. Sometimes the primary relationship lacks sexual fire or emotional intimacy, so the cheater has a one-night stand or an affair to fill the void. And so it goes.

Ep. 25 Parental Alienation: Using Your Kids as Pawns in Your Battle Against the Other Parent
#DIVORCE #CHILDSUPPORT #FATHERSRIGHTS Ep 25. The use of children as pawns in an ugly war between parents is a common issue that family law attorneys deal with. Either their own clients engage in it or the other parent is playing emotional games with children to seek revenge for a divorce or ending a relationship. It’s a no-win situation for the parents and the children.  Heartbreaking though it may be, you could find yourself in this situation.  Even if you think your spouse is the last person who would do something like this, people can be unpredictable when tensions are high and everyone is hurting. If you find yourself in a situation where someone is using kids as pawns, seek legal help right away.  The longer the games continue, the harder they can be to sort out and the more difficult it can be to find a solution. 🔔Listen on Spotify -

#BREASTCANCER #BREASTCANCERMONTH #LIVINGWITHBREASTCANCER  EP.23 According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 woman in their life times will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. In 2020, an estimated 276,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in the U.S. as well as 48,530 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.    64% of breast cancer cases are diagnosed at a localized stage (there is no sign that the cancer has spread outside of the breast), for which the 5-year survival rate is 99%.    This year, an estimated 42,170 women will die from breast cancer in the U.S.    Although rare, men get breast cancer too. EP 22. 10 Most Deranged Serial Killers of All Time
EP 22. 10 Most Deranged Serial Killers of All Time #SERIALKILLERS #JOHNGACY #TEDBUNDY  Episode 22- Many serial killings seem to be completely devoid of meaning  or motivation on the part of the criminal. In actuality, however, there  is great diversity in the needs and desires of serial killers that lead  them to extinguish the lives of others. Sometimes, the act or process  of murder can be an end in itself for them.  One aspect of popularly held beliefs and media stereotypes that often  holds true is that most serial killers derive great satisfaction from  the act of killing. The gratification they receive from the act of  murder differentiates them from one-time murderers who kill  incidentally—that is, to help commit or conceal another crime. Stated  differently, serial killers have a chronic and overwhelming need to  commit murder that distinguishes them from those who kill one time  because it serves other criminal interests.

Ep 21. LGBTQ Discrimination and how to accept a loved one coming out
#LGBTQ#LGBTQ Discrimination   LGBTQ Discrimination and how to accept a love one coming out  Ep21. New research from the Center for American Progress shows that LGBT  people across the country continue to experience pervasive  discrimination that negatively impacts all aspects of their lives. In  response, LGBT people make subtle but profound changes to their everyday  lives to minimize the risk of experiencing discrimination, often hiding  their authentic selves. 1 in 4 LGBT people report experiencing discrimination in 2016 Over the past decade, the nation has made unprecedented progress toward  LGBT equality.  But to date, neither the federal government nor most  states have explicit statutory nondiscrimination laws protecting people  on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. LGBT people  still face widespread discrimination: Between 11 percent and 28 percent  of LGB workers report losing a promotion simply because of their sexual  orientation, and 27 percent of transgender workers report being fired,  not hired, or denied a promotion in the past year. Discrimination also  routinely affects LGBT people beyond the workplace, sometimes costing  them their homes, access to education, and even the ability to engage in  public life.

EP-19 Roe vs Wade Amy Coney Barrett and the Supreme Court stance on Abortion
#ROEVSWADE #AMYCONEYBARRETT #SUPREMECOURT EP 19 - Roe vs Wade Amy Coney Barrett and the Supreme Court stance on Abortion If  you are dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, you may be considering an  abortion as a solution to your situation. Because we care about your  health and well-being, we want you to know the facts. Abortion is not  just a simple medical procedure. For many women, it is a life changing  event with significant physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences.  Most women who struggle with past abortions say that they wish they had  been told all of the facts about abortion and its risks. Since the  Supreme Court handed down its 1973 decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v.  Bolton, states have constructed a lattice work of abortion law,  codifying, regulating and limiting whether, when and under what  circumstances a woman may obtain an abortion. The following table  highlights the major provisions of these state laws.  More detailed  information can be found by selecting the table column headings in blue.  Except where noted, the laws are in effect, although they may not  always be enforced.

Episode 18 The Pros and Cons of the Death Penalty - The Great American Debate
#Deathpenalty #Prosofdeathpenalty#Consofdeathpenalty Episode 18- Christopher Andre Vialva, 40, was the seventh federal inmate  and the first Black man put to death since federal executions resumed  in July. Convicted of murdering two youth ministers when he was 19 was  executed on Thursday, the seventh federal inmate and the first Black man  put to death since Attorney General William P. Barr announced the  resumption of federal executions last year. Since 1977, one year  after the Supreme Court reaffirmed the constitutionality of the death  penalty, more than 1,480 people have been executed, primarily by means  of lethal injection. Most death penalty cases involve the execution of  murderers although capital punishment can also be applied for treason,  espionage, and other crimes. Proponents of the death penalty say it  is an important tool for preserving law and order, deters crime, and  costs less than life imprisonment. They argue that retribution or “an  eye for an eye” honors the victim, helps console grieving families, and  ensures that the perpetrators of heinous crimes never have an  opportunity to cause future tragedy. Opponents of capital punishment  say it has no deterrent effect on crime, wrongly gives governments the  power to take human life, and perpetuates social injustices by  disproportionately targeting people of color (racist) and people who  cannot afford good attorneys (classist). They say lifetime jail  sentences are a more severe and less expensive punishment than death.

Ep.15 The Real Reasons Men lose interest in woman and vice versa how woman lose interest in men.
#Whydowomanleavemen #relationship #menleavingwoman The Real Reasons Men lose interest in woman and vice versa how woman lose interest in men. Ep  15 -When a woman starts dating a man, she completely surrenders to her  feeling. She likes everything in him – his appearance, manner of  talking, and behavior with her, and then feelings literally overshadow  her eyes. She sees only the good in him and tries not to notice the bad. Sometimes  it happens that such love of a woman makes a man better, but it often  happens that a woman loses interest in a man after some time of dating. Are you wondering whether a specific man has lost interest in you? Does it feel like everything is going swimmingly in your relationships, then it suddenly goes downhill? Maybe you’re worrying about your current partner losing interest in you? When men lose interest in their partner, they often begin to look elsewhere for potential alternatives. Sadly, many of them stay with their existing partner until everything is prepared for them to ‘jump ship’ to a new girlfriend.
