We dive into his first gig as head coach which includes 5th place and runner up state finishes. Matt's career ended abruptly early in high school due to health concerns. He turned to coaching which led to where he is now. It also landed him a role teaching John Cena how to wrestle for the film Legendary. (Ep20) Capturing Sports from All Angles with Mike Stant
On Episode 20, I sit down with one of the coolest cats around, my cousin Mike Stant. Mike comes from a family with a football pedigree. He and his two brothers all played major college football. One of them even got a crack in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints. Mike and I discuss growing up in the glory days of New Orleans East athletics. Mike went on to have a great football career taking him to Nicholls in the 80s, during one their best runs. Now, Mike shares his knowledge and love for the game as an offensive line coach for St. Paul's. Additionally, he umpires little league and high school baseball. One of the greatest parts about his perspective is he has seen the game from so many viewpoints from playing to parenting to coaching to officiating.
