Why then do you as a hotel owner or manager pass the responsibility to staff to decide on what online technology to use and what prices to enable?  

Last week, at our webinar on the "3 secrets to Online Distribution Success", this is exactly what happened.  

During the webinar, I shared the characteristics that are common to the hotels that fail to get more direct online revenue and keep the lion's share from it.  

One of these is where hotel owners or managers delegate the responsibility to the reservations team without making the effort to understand the online distribution landscape.  

"I believe the reservations manager should take a call on this stuff."  

This is a HUGE DON'T when it comes to creating a sustainable profitable online strategy.
