This week I'm joined by Jenny Thomas, Programme Director of DigitalHealth.London. Jenny has been pivotal in driving the growth of DigitalHealth.London from a start-up itself to an organisation that today has supported hundreds of health tech entrepreneurs to refine and scale their solutions, and which now supports NHS staff to deliver important digital transformation projects and works with academics and industry to improve evidence generation in digital health.

Jenny has a background in healthcare delivery, joining the NHS via their Graduate Management Training Scheme and working afterwards in a number of operational and strategic roles in the UK and overseas. She was the General Manager for Women’s at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital for a number of years and has in-depth experience of maternity, gynecology and fertility NHS and private service delivery and NHS commissioning.

Avi began his career as a doctor in the NHS before transitioning from clinical practice to industry roles. In 2014, he joined Bupa as a Clinical Fellow to the NHS National Medical Director, as part of a year-long NHS leadership and management fellowship programme, after which he was appointed as Bupa’s Clinical Lead for Digital Health. In 2016, Avi joined IBM’s newly formed healthcare technology and AI business unit, IBM Watson Health, where he held multiple global leadership roles.

Avi is also a Fellow at the Faculty of Clinical Informatics, and advisor/mentor to digital health start-ups through the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme among other programmes and initiatives.

Every year, 85 million patients are admitted to intensive care with organ failure globally. Despite constantly monitoring patients and providing the highest echelon of care, intensive care units have the poorest patient outcomes in any given hospital unit.  To give these patients a fighting chance, Third Eye has developed a self-designing AI-driven early warning system. Our AI utilises data routinely collected in intensive care to predict the risk of organ failure, mortality, and length of stay, in view of guiding doctors in evidence-based decision making.

Sam is a final year PhD student in AI & Computer Vision at Imperial College London.

Prior to Kamet, Michael was a Partner in the Insurance and TMT practices of Boston Consulting Group (BCG). During his time at BCG, Michael was instrumental in developing BCG’s offering in the digital space and was also involved in the opening of the firm’s offices in Israel.

Michael has also launched three successful technology start-ups focused on media and Big Data.

They have hundreds of games based on: Music, Animals, Geography, History, Sports, TV & Film, Plants and Flowers, Food, Literature, Science and more.

The Memory Lane Games app is designed for use by carers and the dementia and Alzheimer's patients in their care - especially for use in geriatric care, or delivered as part of a care home activities plan. The in-app games are also used as a form of distraction and reminiscence therapies and the company is about to launch clinical trials to examine how the intervention improves quality of life for those affected by the condition and their carers.
