Ep. 22: Conscious Skincare with Lynn Gallagher of LGHT Wellness

Ep. 22: Conscious Skincare with Lynn Gallagher of LGHT Wellness

In episode 22 of the Health, Wealth, & Happiness Podcast, Lynn Gallagher of LGHT Wellness chats with us about why we should be changing our narrative on skincare. We break down popular misconceptions, trends, and questions surrounding skincare right now to bring the conversation around skincare back to the basics.

Lynn Gallagher is a Holistic Facialist based out of Philadelphia. Her approach to beauty is to create a brave, heart-centered space for restoration and healing as well as to disrupt the standards in the beauty industry. As a facialist, her focus is fostering a person-first over a product-first mindset. With her background in various alternative healing modalities, a session with her feels stimulating, grounding, uplifting, and restoring simultaneously. She prioritizes small/female-owned, transparent, raw/whole, inclusive, accessible, and sustainable skincare. In slowing down your beauty routine, you tap into celebrating the ritual of rejuvenation over chasing perfection.

Ep. 21: Regaining Balance Using Ayurveda with Micayla from Ancient Herban

Ep. 21: Regaining Balance Using Ayurveda with Micayla from Ancient Herban

In episode 21 of the Health, Wealth, & Happiness Pod, we invite Micayla Kuehn to talk about the ancient Indian medicine, Ayurveda. Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that translates to "the sacred knowledge of life". We get deep into the art of Ayurveda, how to discover your dosha, and healing any possible imbalances.

Micayla is a Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher. She was born & raised in the Bay Area, CA, and has since relocated to the beautiful island of Kauai. It was living here, back in 2012, that she started her healing journey. The intention to take responsibility for her health & interest in herbalism, massage, yoga, astrology, aromatherapy, and nutrition, brought her to Ayurveda. Through Micayla's studies at the California College of Ayurveda in 2015 and while working with an Ayurvedic Practitioner, she was able to return to balance, relieve her long-term symptoms, and became empowered with the knowledge & tools to keep herself healthy. Micayla knew that she wanted to share this with others so they could experience that empowerment with their health as well.

In 2017, Micayla also completed an Herbal Apprenticeship program at CCA & became a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor. She went on to do a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, an Ayurvedic Massage & Body Therapy training, a two-month Vedic immersion experience living at an ayurvedic farm/yoga center, and is currently studying Jyotish (Vedic astrology) and working to become a Vedic astrologer. She has worked alongside an MD at a private practice and a team of holistic health practitioners in an integrative wellness clinic. Currently, Micayla has her own practice online, offering 1:1 coaching with clients anywhere in the world. In 2018, Micayla and her soul sister, Yvette, teamed up to create their company, Ancient Herban; an Ayurvedic-inspired apothecary that offers organic herbal extract tinctures, which they call Chillixirs, to support the nervous system and help with stress/anxiety/insomnia relief.

In Episode 18 of the Health, Wealth, & Happiness Pod, Joe Bohlen comes onto the show to discuss his research and how we can use certain strategies to fact-check in our day-to-day lives. With the prevalence of fake news and biases in journalism, it is important to know how to properly research and make educated decisions for yourself. As one of Bailey’s mentors has said “keep one foot in and one foot out” when doing any type of healing work. It’s a beautiful balance of having your head in the clouds and staying grounded in reality. This episode will provide easy steps to navigate through this Information Age and keep one foot on the ground.

Joe is currently a Staff Scientist at Johns Hopkins working in the Lieber Institute for Brain Development. His focus for the last 4 years has been to find a cure for Autism. Prior to his current position, Joe holds 10+ years of research experience from the fields of Cardio/Pulmonary Disease, Diabetes, Cancer Cell Biology, Muscle Physiology, Neuroscience, and Nutrition. Ep. 17: Removing Labels and Embracing Change With Hannah Murphy

In Episode 17 of HWH Pod, we invite Hannah Murphy to talk about how she is embracing change and diving into wellness in this new chapter of her life. After almost 10 years as a vegan and a lifetime of knowing her life purpose, she dropped everything this year to change careers and break her veganism.

Hannah Murphy is a massage therapist and jewelry artist living and working on Hawaii’s Big Island. Hannah is on a journey to raise the vibration of the collective through bodywork and positive frequencies. Growing up, she knew in her soul that she wanted to study Marine Biology to work with dolphins. She dedicated her life to the animals, traveling all over the world for work and transitioning into veganism because of her compassion for living beings. After moving to Hawaii, Hannah realized she wasn’t happy and decided to change her career and lifestyle. Changing her mindset to happiness healed Hannah and is allowing her to bring light to others.
