Episode #93: No More Tears
Up against a deadline, your hero comes through... but still ends up late because of Beyonce. This time out, I discuss Aaliyah turning 5, Freeway getting a new kidney, my thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 (you read that right), "Old Town Road", Tiger Woods, and a review of the Whitney Houston documentary from last summer. This episode is brought to you by Homecoming, Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man 2.

Episode #92: Hawt A$$ Takes (Costarring Marcus Robinson)
Five categories: Music. Movies. Sports. Television. Potpourri. Both Marcus and I entered with (almost) 3 hot takes for each category. Over the course of this episode, you won't just hear some takes. You won't just hear some hot takes. These are certified HAWT ASS TAKES. Accept no substitutes until the next time the fire burns. This episode is brought to you by You, Me and Dupree.

Episode #91: What Is A Legacy?
Welcome to Crying Nation, where the topics make me cry! If that doesn't stop you, there's a new sheriff in WWE Champion town and he's black! This is Blazing Saddles all over again. Then a Dwyane Wade commercial is the reason you're listening to Crying Nation today instead of Hyphen Nation. And then, if you get that far, I have a close encounter of the marijuana kind on my lunch break and Shea Serrano continues to be awesome. This episode was brought to you by This Is 40.

Episode #90: When The Man Comes Around (Costarring Derrick Ferguson)
Defender of Brooklyn and my friend Derrick Ferguson joins the show as I finally make up for us not doing a pod sooner. We talk about Derrick's podcast history and his crowned and renowned Better In The Dark podcast he did for 7 years with his cohost Thomas Deja. We bounce over to Derrick's writing career as he describes his action adventurer Dillon and many of his other creations. Then we kind of wind things down as I heap loads of unexpected praise at Derrick and I don't regret any of it! Maybe next time we'll visit Lil' Blade and Lil' Blaxploitationville.

Episode #89: Preaching To The Choir
You can check out the Violet Apples YouTube channel:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLh7AC1UuDPtvS5eJixF4gg Get your Morgantown weather report! See how long I can stretch out the word AND in between thoughts! How many locales was this episode recorded in? I actually address a topic I first mentioned on Episode #43. RIP Nipsey Hussle. And a huge moment in modern cinema is reviewed when three dudes got together to make music in 2005. I shouldn't be eating ramen this late.

Episode #88: The War To Settle The Score (Costarring Mike Asti & George Gerbo)
I called out Mike "The Buzz-Saw" Asti on my State Of The Podcast pod and George "The Howitzer" Gerbo made sure it happened! I'm joined by Mike and George as we travel the only road that matters right now: the Road to WrestleMania! We discuss all kinds of matches and rumors as we watched this past week's SmackDown including Rousey/Charlotte/Becky, Brock/Seth, Angle/Baron Corbin, and New Daniel Bryan vs Kofi (apparently). It's all the WrestleMania preview you can handle and more, so you better be ready to bump. Mike and George fully endorse Moment of Bliss and Alexa Bliss for everything.

Episode #87: The Thin Line
Just when you thought I was done with Into The Spider-Verse, a new challenger emerges. The Pied Piper of R&B continues to strike terror wherever he goes. I weigh in on how public opinion on Black Panther has changed over the course of the last year. Then I talk a lot of NFL and begrudgingly give Tom Brady his propers. I'm on my 4th cup of coffee today.
March 29, 2019
Episode #86: The Aftermath Of Leaving Neverland (Costarring Marcus Robinson)
The revelations of the documentary Leaving Neverland are discussed in detail so please proceed with caution if anything about the topics of sexual assault and molestation are too intense for you to handle. Marcus and I cover both parts of the doc, whether we believe Michael Jackson's accusers, what this does to the legacy that Jackson left behind nearly 10 years ago, and plenty more.

Episode #85: Where Is The Problem?
I finally get to name my 2018 Best In The World award winner. Any guesses as to who that is? After a few starts and stops, I spent some time with some of the new music releases of 2018 and I wasn't pleased with what I found. Am I right or am I missing the point? Also, why in the hell am I still watching The Walking Dead?

Episode #84: Dying Is Easy Young Man. Living Is Harder (Costarring Tyler Kovar)
Live from Studio C of U92, it's the Hamilton episode I've been dying to make and nobody wanted! In all seriousness, my friend Tyler Kovar went to see Hamilton in Pittsburgh the day after my birthday. Since he couldn't (or wouldn't) take me, he did the next best thing by talking Hamilton on the pod with me. We get into Tyler's theater background first and then dive right into the Hamilton live experience. Hir-O, holla at me man.

Episode #83: The Greatest Spider-Man Film Yet? (Costarring Angel Conley, Mike Lam & Marc Rob)
Due to some last minute schedule changes, I was able to take in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse with the family for an early birthday gift. So not only do I have Marcus and Lamerique with me on this Spidey-tacular ride, Angel joined in as well. Things quickly went downhill from there. My beard was rubbing against my mic. Sorry.

Episode #82: 2019 State Of The Podcast Address
In the first solo episode of the new year, I give an overdue recap of Christmas and my birthday. The 2019 Hyphen Nation State Of The Podcast Address is delivered. I think Handsome Bane would call this getting goal-sy. I really like Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. 2 is shaping up pretty good too.
January 31, 2019
Episode #81: Balance Is Needed (Costarring Miles Prower, Michael Lamerique & Marcus Robinson)
Most of the gang from the Daughters, Dads, and Disney episode reunite to finally take on Avengers: Infinity War and speculate on how the Avengers' story wraps up in Avengers: Endgame this coming April. Joining in the fray is I, Black Man Podcast's own Miles Amadeus Prower. A lot of MCU talk here, as well as... Episode IX?! Can someone tell my dad if Creed won the fight at the end of Creed 2? Please?
January 19, 2019
Episode #80: Numbers On The Board '18 (Costarring Marcus Robinson)
Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. 2018 is almost extinguished. Marcus joins me for our now annual Numbers On The Board episode where we discuss the year that just passed. We talk 2019 goals, what was overrated and underrated, Omari (!), and many other pertinent items. I'm sorry August Ames.

Episode #79: The Rant That Wasn't
I had one thing and one thing only to talk about: A t-shirt worn by an actor that’s universally beloved. So I get into my dating history along with the whys and whats of how I ended up in an interracial marriage… then I talk myself out of the whole idea of being annoyed by said t-shirt. What this episode truly ends up being is a deep dive into the importance of finding ways to communicate with yourself outside of your own head. Does that make sense? Why do you write like you’re running out of time?
December 21, 2018
Episode #78: Excelsior!
This episode begins with me talking about the impact Stan Lee had on my life and it gets a little too real before the segment is over. Then we fast forward to almost a month later, as I discuss my Cleveland problem, I rant about Reddit, and then tell the sad story of what happened to my faithful PS3. Dying is easy young man, living is harder.
December 14, 2018
Episode #77: Long Story Short
I had a whole gang of topic for this episode… but I only got to two. Join me as I drive from Morgantown to Capon Bridge to see my dad as I discuss issues with servers and why college sports don’t do it for me… mere hours before I watched college football all day. I’m not perfect.
November 5, 2018
Episode #76: Talking Out The Dead: Season 6 – Season 8 (Costarring Thomas Crawford)
Season 9 of The Walking Dead is right around the corner, so I finally got Thomas “Encyclopedia” Crawford on the show so we could pick up where we left off with our former Talking Out The Dead columns. Lots of Walking Dead talk… eventually.
October 22, 2018
Episode #75: The Diamond Experience (Costarring Angel Conley)
Angel Conley returns to THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST for the 2nd time and for the 75th episode. We talked about the upcoming elections, the WV teacher strike, Law & Order SVU and, even played some trivia. She’s also a better speaker than me.
October 21, 2018
Episode #74: No One Ever Really Dies (Costarring Marcus Robinson)
Marcus and I reflect on the blog era of hip-hop and how nice it was to have content curators who really cared about the music. We spend the rest of the episode eulogizing Mac Miller, his impact on us, and where rap is headed next.
September 16, 2018
Episode #73: Fear And Loathing In Alabama
In this edition of THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST, I take a deep dive into the world of Woodstock, Alabama and the award winning podcast, S-Town. I also attended my first comic con ever and as usual, I found a way to embarrass myself. The Raiders will have the number 1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
September 1, 2018
Episode #72: Mood…
Morgantown roads and construction set off a rant. The day of being a CM Punk guy are running short. Zoos are discussed. Detroit Become Human is incredible even if you’re just watching it on YouTube like me. My journey into the world of keto dieting is finally revealed. I miss summer already.
August 23, 2018
Episode #71: Bingo, Absolutely (Costarring DJ Hollywood)
Pittsburgh’s DJ Hollywood joined me in the WVU Coliseum parking lot to discuss his beginnings, career, and how he’s stayed humble in the DJ game. Before that, I finally review Drake’s Scorpion album. I miss the old Aubrey. Shout to D-Generation X for the inspiration behind the new episode artwork.
August 16, 2018
Episode #70: 104 Miles (Costarring Anthony Sellers)
Jumped in the Subaru Impreza with Anthony to head to Browns training camp in Berea, OH. With about 10 hours drive time ahead of us, I present the longest episode of THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST yet! I kid, but we did talk for most of the trip from Morgantown to Walker, WV where we were picking up his dad and Lane. To hear the pod between Walker and Berea, check out Lemon On The Edge 6. For now, here’s two guys on the open road on a Sunday morning. Why does Drake’s videos for Scorpion have to be so good?
August 6, 2018
Episode #69: Now With 100% More Stuttering!
I talked about Steven Universe for a good chunk of this episode and didn’t even mention the music. SMH. Anyway, if you are or you aren’t a member of the Crystal Gems army, I try to give you a good starting point to get to know Steven, Amethyst, Pearl, and Garnet. From there, I reminisce about the hip-hop blogs of yore and wonder if they’re really a shell of their former selves or if I’m just not into it enough to find the reigning, defending, undisputed blogs of today. I wrap things up by celebrating another anniversary, as I recall the impact that Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III had on hip-hop and music in general. I think I’m ready to talk about Scorpion now. Heaven help us all.

Episode #68: A Decade Of Dominance (Costarring Marcus “ShowinmadLov” Robinson)
Go ahead and throw out your lil’ tributes. Your lil’ think pieces. Your lil’ hot takes. None will come close. On this episode of Hyphen Nation, Marcus “ShowinmadLov” Robinson and I celebrate the 10 year anniversary of 2008’s The Dark Knight. Nolan. Bale. Ledger. Gyllenhaal. Eckhart. Caine. Freeman. Deebo. We even let Oldman in. Revisit a classic with us as we breakdown the second film in Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy through ShowinmadLov’s brilliant questioning. Hell, turn it on and listen. Watch out for best Batman hot takes and there’s even some Ant-Man & The Wasp talk for you dedicated listeners at the end. This is still the best comic book movie of all-time. Leave no doubt.
July 20, 2018
Episode #67: Book To The Future Volume 2 (Costarring Gary Wolfe)
Recorded on the roof of the Hotel Monte Carlo in Ocean City, MD, I’m joined by one of the cohosts of the Fantasy Football Bosses podcast, Gary Wolfe. And for the first time since Episode #10, we indulge in a little fantasy booking for WWE. We fix pretty much everything, so you’re welcome. We also discuss where CM Punk goes next, Brock Lesnar’s impending return to the UFC, and explain why we love online dirt sheets. And we created a much needed new title for the main roster. It’s THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST on vacation!
July 20, 2018
Episode #66: Neither Here Nor There
Season’s change and so do opinions. LeBron James just completed his 15th NBA season. And as always, the debate rages on as to whether he’s the greatest NBA player of all-time. In this corner, stands the forever GOAT in my eyes, Michael Jordan. 6 NBA Championships, 5 MVPs, 6 Finals MVPs, countless career highlights. I spend this episode debating one topic and one topic only: Who’s the GOAT? Chris Hardwick cost Comic Book Men 100 episodes.
June 28, 2018
Episode #65: Hundred Dollar Bill Y’all
I’ve been trying to write these show notes for days now. Inside: Everything you need to know about Atlanta: Robbin’ Season. We finally find out who that guy was on the bus from S01E01! Also, why Earn dropped out of Harvard! Steve G. Lover dropped the full ”Paper Boi” audio! Donald Glover got to host and perform on Saturday Night Live! And no one can forget about the origin story of invisible cars! Plus, we gotta talk about the episode when the real Justin Bieber met Atlanta’s Justin Bieber! Pick and choose your facts out of those. I’m just happy we’re getting season 3.
June 25, 2018
Episode #64: Emergency Pod – All The Pieces Matter (Costarring Marcus “ShowinmadLov” Robinson)
Pusha T released a scathing diss towards Drake on May 29, accusing him of not only ghostwriting, but having a secret child that he doesn’t want to take care of. Push also made time to tell Drake’s friend/producer to go ahead and die from multiple sclerosis. Oh yeah. Drake apparently took some photos in blackface about 10 years ago. I called up Marcus for this emergency pod so that we could put together all of our first reactions about “The Story Of Adidon” and where we’re going from here.
May 30, 2018
Episode #63: Self-Care Vol. I
“See I'm depressed lately, but nobody understands That I'm depressed lately, I'm sorta feelin' repressed lately So y'all been hearin' and seein' me less lately Like 'has anyone noticed the regress lately?' Look deep, n----, don't I seem stressed lately? Seem disturbed, lot of regrets lately...”
May 19, 2018
Episode #62: Promotion, Plethora, and Parker
Things started off really bad but I managed to get my footing by the second topic. Why are most people either pro-J. Cole or anti-J. Cole? I get into my thoughts on the full Venom trailer as well as the comic book history of Eddie Brock. Then I bounce from Aaliyah’s 4th birthday party to whether or not Chadwick Boseman is tired of playing T’Challa. The last time I address the buffoonery that is Kanye West is within. Even with the forthcoming apology in x amount of time. Then I ask why we continue to support artists/sports players/comedians who do horrible things. And I wrap up with a review of Anthony Bourdain’s West Virginia episode of Parts Unknown. Y’all really hopped on that Raptors train for a second, didn’t you?
May 10, 2018
Episode #61: Gawd Bless Tony Stark (Costarring Marcus “Showinmadlov” Robinson)
On April 9th, I made the artwork for this episode and sent it to Marcus. As I wanted it to come out a week before Avengers: Infinity War, I knew this episode was coming out on April 20th. What I didn’t know is if I could hold myself to the numbering, as I had five full episodes that needed recorded to get to this episode you now have in your podcast listening device.11 days later, 5 episodes later, Marcus and I talk all about the Iron Man films, the MCU, and what we expect out of Infinity War. Challenge completed.
April 20, 2018
Episode #60: All The Way Live
With the dreaded deadline rapidly approaching, my Google Keep app held this episode’s salvation. After a little “Nice For What” and Atlanta: Robbin’ Season “Champagne Papi” talk, the focus turns to movies I just can’t turn off when they’re on the TV set. Eight movies, all over the place, with recaps and defending myself galore. Stone Cold v Bret at WrestleMania 13 is still incredible.
April 20, 2018
Episode #59: You’re Welcome, Sprite
Show notes are the worst. I’ve had all day to write these things and here we are. I’m losing my mind. I promise. Vince Staples is right. Snow please go away the reprise. Tristan Thompson can’t even qualify for his own YouTube channel. All the Kardashian talk you can handle + more. I reviewed Eminem’s Revival, I don’t think I had done that yet… did I? I’ve been listening to Tori Kelly’s cover of “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing” from Sing. Remember who said Starbucks was trash first. I just realized there’s a pineapple on my garage door.
April 18, 2018
Episode #58: Cooley-HY-Harmony
At WrestleMania 34, Roman Reigns was defeated by Daniel Bryan in a surprise 11th hour match made by Raw GM Kurt Angle after Reigns defeated the Beast Incarnate for the WWE Universal Championship. Since that’s nowhere close to the actual event, I go over what did happen on the Show of Shows. Then I finally bring to fruition an idea to determine the best Boyz II Men song because you demanded it! And I got sick of looking at a half finished column on my Google Docs. Now hiring: Someone to do my sleeping for me.
April 14, 2018
Episode #57: Gorgeous AF
It’s been 6 years and Nas has left us. My stepbrother is a kidney giving mother lover. An update on the WV teacher’s strike. How to get your fill at a chinese buffet without killing yourself over wontons. The story of my friend Johnny’s botched wedding ring with a week to go before his wedding. Ray Allen’s Celtics teammates still hate him like he stole their money. But why does it even matter? Episode 56’s recommendations and my final verdict on Disney (plus I was there SIX days not 5). Danielle Fishel proves that ANYONE… and I mean ANYONE has a shot at love. I just remembered there’s soda in the refrigerator.
April 12, 2018
Episode #56: Disney
This episode took 2 different days to record… because the first take was awful. That’s only 6 times less than a song that was on repeat on every Disney muzak station the entire trip. For 5 days, I was within Disney World. There was a lot of walking and food consumption and smiles and foot pain and margaritas and water consumption and princesses and rides and wind and rain and everything in between. And I’d go back again tomorrow. I forgot to say that in the episode. I might start just watching NXT and only certain matches on the main roster. I’m serious.
April 11, 2018
Episode #55: For All Intents And Purposes
Your Barack Obama approved hero returns! In this edition of THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST, WrestleMania 34 is previewed for everybody gearing up for wrestling’s big night in New Orleans this Sunday. For those of you that aren’t into wrestling… I reviewed Wale’s Shine album just in time for him to be dropped by Atlantic and go right back into making heat… if that’s not your thing; I went into The Walking Dead season 8… well, I complained. A lot. About a show that I’m still choosing to watch. If none of that interests you, I explain why season 5 of Scrubs is the best season of Scrubs. A lot. Y’all gonna make me watch Roseanne aren’t y’all? NEXT TIME: DISNEY.
April 5, 2018
Episode #54: We’re Not Gonna Take It
Do you remember book fairs? How about the teachers who helped mold you into the person you are today? Why can’t the WV Senate remember their teachers? Where art thou, Pizza Hut? Did you know there was a black NASCAR driver racing for Richard Petty using his old number? Is this the first podcast you accidentally encountered NASCAR talk on? Ever ruin something you just bought almost immediately? And then see something hilarious when you’re brooding about your own first world problems? Why does Will Smith never get the respect he deserves for his rap career? Does this title sound like Episode 51’s too much? WV’s Senate is trash.

Episode #53: Wakanda Forever (Costarring Marcus “Showinmadlov” Robinson)
A random Marcus Robinson appears. The NBA season is dissected at its halfway point. Marcus and Kelen both agree half of the 2017-18 NBA season was better than the entire 2017 NFL season. Kelen celebrates the oddly successful tank in Chicago while Marcus laments about his Wizards chances of surviving the second round of the playoffs. Hot a** takes are thrown around by Kelen. Chris Paul and his greatness is questioned at great length. MVP and NBA Finals predictions are made. Wakanda rises. The Black Panther motion picture is exalted on high. MVPs are chosen, the women of Black Panther steal the show, and theories are thrown out for future films and the location of the Infinity Stone. Did the MCU miss their window with Black Widow? When does the MCU finally miss with a movie? Is Venom doomed to fail? And can Paul Rudd bring ‘em out again with Wasp & Ant-Man? I support West Virginia’s teachers!
February 23, 2018
Episode #52: Shoot Your Shot
Apologies for the poorly timed title following the events at Stoneman Douglas High School. Kelen doesn’t understand how his brain works. Seasonal depression is looked at and its big brother, depression. The differences between pouting and just doing your job is pondered. A new challenger took his shot with one of Kelen’s coworkers and is applauded for his Valentine’s Day effort. Super Bowl LII is recapped belatedly but leads to an interesting discussion of the parallels between Michael Jordan and Tom Brady. Kelen is able to form an opinion of Justin Timberlake in 2018. Remember Parkland and all the ridiculous gun violence.
February 16, 2018
Episode #51: Melancholy And The Infinite Thoughtfulness
Despite an impending cold, Kelen still does the show. The best wrestler in the world is debated and decided upon. Kevin Durant has worked his way back into Kelen’s good graces. Kelen uses the word wont. The 2018 Royal Rumble is reviewed. Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut to little fanfare. Justin Timberlake and all his missteps prior to his Super Bowl LII halftime performance are mentioned. The Cavs never really deserved LeBron did they?
February 9, 2018
Episode #50: The Gold Experience (Costarring Angel Conley)
As promised, I bring my wonderful better half on the show, my wife Angel Conley. We spend some time debating about whether the intro I’ve used for the last 49 episodes is any good. I say this may have been a mistake at least twice. We talk about how she got into education and how her West Virginia History Bowl teams truly have no offseason. We relive our relationship through the years and discuss parenthood. I recall some various topics from the past 49 episodes and ask Angel her thoughts. Wrestling is brought up very briefly. And because things come full circle, we make our Super Bowl LII picks! Recommendations: Drink Champs Ep. 23 & 26 w/ Snoop Dogg. The Bill Simmons Podcast Reunion show with Jalen Rose. Dad says Tiger is winning the Masters this year.
February 2, 2018
Episode #49: Dammit Tom Haverford
Despite past reservations, Kelen may be back on the Durantula train. The pettiness of pancake preference comes up. Parenting doesn't wait. Kelen is either elated or saddened by reaching his Kevin Durant year of life. Tom Haverford’s real life companion is discovered to be trash. Starbucks is another evil empire lying beneath the surface. Vince McMahon doesn't care about black people.
January 26, 2018
Episode #48: Daughters, Dads, And Disney OR Four Disappointed Significant Others
It's Like A Podcast Or Whatever's Errick "Handsome Bane" Greenlee and Michael Lamerique host. Marcus "ShowinmadLov" Robinson is without a kid but allowed to join. Disney as a brand and an empire is discussed. Prince Eric's legacy is mentioned. Kelen makes a choice that Michael does not agree with. Marcus reminisces of the Blob. The second podcast crossover for the Hyphen Podcast Group happens. Men are trash is recited often. Hills are alive with a sound. Barack Obama is mentioned. Disney is discussed in between tangents. Kelen draws the ire of the hosts and guest with an ill-timed movie quote. LEAVE MARCUS WILLIAMS ALONE.
January 20, 2018
Episode #47: Cautiously Optimistic
Kelen feels insecure and unsure while drinking hot chocolate. The status of Kelen's music career is brought to light. Barack Obama is mentioned. Kelen thinks The Mayor was canceled not just due to low viewership. Jon Gruden returns to the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders. The road to WrestleMania Fleur-de-lis has begun and Daniel Bryan is either on it or he's not. A possible WWE conspiracy is formed. Kelen fails at video.
January 12, 2018
Episode #46: 2018 State Of The Podcast Address
Donald threatens someone on Twitter. Twitter don’t care. Kelen gets some exciting news. Baker Mayfield could be the next coming of Johnny Manziel or Dan Marino. Kelen gives his first annual State Of The Podcast Address. Kelen does some yelling. The podcast gets the approval of a former high ranking politician. The episode is sponsored by Extra Sweet Watermelon gum. A car door is opened and shut.

Episode #45: Numbers On The Board (Costarring Marcus “Showinmadlov” Robinson)
2017 was a better year than 2016 was. Or was it? Marcus “Showinmadlov” Robinson again demanded his time on THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST and came equipped with a list of topics, ranging from our favorite artist to the most overrated thing of 2017. We spend roughly three hours talking and we somehow got into a 20+ minute tangent on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s movie career, what huge mistake Eminem made this year, why the nostalgia of the past is a gift and curse for entertainment, and even speculated into what 2018 would bring. There’s lots of laughs, tears, and audio side eyes as we make our way through the topics but no stone is left unturned. We also take time to acknowledge the passing of Reggie “Combat Jack” Osse on December 20th. WVU football continues to reign as the trashiest of the trash!
December 30, 2017
Episode #44: Solo Dolo
“Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong. The Rebellion is reborn today. The war is just beginning. And I will not be The Last Jedi.”
December 23, 2017
Episode #43: I’m Just Gonna Say It
I start off with no topics, flying by the seat of my pants... but that doesn't last too long. I get you ready for Clash Of The Champions and give some ideas for where the card should go... but don't expect see anything like that on Sunday night. I have to reply to Errick's way to end The Walking Dead on It's Like A Podcast Or Whatever Ep. 26 with my own ideas but mine isn't as hilarious as his. I recommend Z! True Long Island Story by Zack Ryder and Michael Jordan's 55 point performance against the Bullets in 1997. And I have to get serious and address the situation at my beloved WWVU-FM U92 radio station. Seems like things are righting themselves over there. #U9Me2 Who cares what LeBron told Lonzo? Not me. Find something better to do people, you're drunk.
December 16, 2017
Episode #42: My First Visit To Krispy Kreme OR House + Cuddy = Disaster!
Y’all need to let Gregory House live. Sure he’s a terrible human being who has failed at many of his relationships and treats others as if they are infectious diseases. But the man is a genius. He also had a great TV show for most of his run until the last few seasons. But Lisa Cuddy is a topic for another day. I take YouTube to task for deleting the livestream of Episode #41, even though they keep insisting that I deleted the video. I think YouTube just didn’t want me railing on Lauer, Guthrie, and Kathie Lee anymore. Didn’t work, all three got more flames this episode. You can’t stop THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST that easily! And I give myself a PSA that I need to stop drinking so excessively as I share a few embarrassing stories that resulted from too much alcohol. Before Jamie Foxx and T-Pain show up, I shout out a great show review and call it day. But technically, I just recapped the show backwards. I think Roger Goodell should donate his new contract to charity.
December 8, 2017
Episode #41: I Ain’t Gonna Stand For It
I had the worst time titling this episode. For some reason, my in-show note of “I Get It, I Get It” just didn’t feel proper. Within, I talk about how Melissa McBride deserves an Emmy despite The Walking Dead not being a really good show anymore. I talk a lot about my obsession with t-shirts and my pursuit of reaching Handsome Bane’s level. I got to dig around in the comic crates at New Dimension Comics in the Ohio Valley Mall. I mourn the possible end of Derrick Rose’s career. I give Mondays a little credit. And I recommend Hiro Beats’ “Shout Out To FaceTime”, Frasier, and the Better In The Dark podcast. But I also address the Matt Lauer situation. This specific topic is the reason I couldn’t give this episode a lackadaisical title. In it, I take Savannah Guthrie to task for the way she defended Lauer due to their relationship while barely giving credit to the victim(s) who came forward. I’ll let you listen to it but in the words of Stevland Hardaway Morris… I ain’t gonna stand for it. You ain’t right either Kathie Lee. Shout out to Hoda doe.
December 1, 2017
Episode #40: Late To The Party
Hyphen Nation turns 40! And it only took less than two years! In this episode! Stranger Things 2! Last Man On Earth! The continuing adventures of Deadpool and Jessica Jones! Laziness and the battle to drag myself to the movies! An apology to the hosts of the morning show on Morgan 92.1! Singing! Get to listening to THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST! Maybe I need to binge watch Frasier!

Episode #39: Soul Daddy Number 1 (Costarring Daniel Conley)
The fifth guest on THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST is none other than my father, Daniel Conley. It was amazing to just sit back and listen to him talk candidly about his life. I learned some new things, got to relive some stories I already knew, and just got to have a great conversation with the man I've called dad all these years. He talked about his high school football career and how he started watching Star Trek and about his officiating career calling high school basketball games... man. I want to say this was one of my worst interviews because I was so busy listening that I wasn't doing anything else. Sorry, not sorry. How do you buy Starbucks 17 times in 2 months and not remember?!

Episode #38: The Greatest MCs Of All-Time
After much hoopla, here are my 20 greatest MCs of all-time. This list has been curated and cultivated for weeks now and I’m finally happy enough to deliver the only results you’ll need for the rest of your life. 31 MCs are mentioned; 11 honorable mentions and the 20 greatest MCs of all-time. If anything, my list is better than that Kool Moe Dee book he put out in 2003. Never trust a book when the author’s name isn’t even spelled correctly on the book. What MC made the list that will piss everybody off? Everyone has somebody they can’t stand. This is the DEFINITIVE list of the greatest MCs of all-time. Spoilers: Eminem is #1. I don't care about the CMAs or Taylor Swift's new album.

Episode #37: Ross Geller Is Terrible At Relationships
I hate fantasy football. I lost 5 players to injury in Week 4 and I have 4 players with byes this week. I should have taken that year off. And Derek Carr and the Raiders got hit with some cheese that could doom one of our last seasons in Oakland. After I cry for a little bit, I revisit my time back at U92 for their 35th anniversary. I take some time to memorialize Tom Petty and break down the good and bad of Hugh Hefner’s 91 years. I accidentally think I caught my neighbors going at it in their living room but I don’t say that before I give my opinion on the tragedy in Las Vegas. I rant about how Ross didn’t deserve Rachel and then finally admit that I’m one of those old rap fans. I have to start watching the WNBA.

Episode #36: Terminated
Back from a solo hiatus, THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST touches down with great authority. Wasting no time, I announced the formation of the Hyphen Podcast Group, a new Morgantown, WV based podcast collective. From there, I deal with all of ESPN’s problems this summer including their most recent issues with how they’ve dealt with Jemele Hill sounding off on Donald. I get into a little WWE action as I go back and forth about whether becoming a cord cutter was worth it, all while previewing this Sunday’s No Mercy PPV. I segue into how I’d like to see a black WWE Champion sometime in my lifetime before I get into the true reasons why THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST took an unintentional hiatus. The real is back. But I miss summer.

Episode #35: Bobby Shmurda Anybody Ya Heard Of (Costarring Marcus “ShowinmadLov” Robinson)
In an episode that had to happen, THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST tackles what has now come to be known as 4:44, Jay-Z’s latest album. Joining me for the ride once again is Marcus “ShowinmadLov” Robinson as we break down the road Jay took to get to this album and pretty much review it track-by-track. Is it a classic on the level of Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint? Or did Hov throw Tidal fueled bricks a la Kingdom Come? I also offer a very special apology to someone who I've trashed pretty heavily throughout the first 34 episodes of the show. After our lengthy review, we give our spoiler free thoughts on Spider-Man: Homecoming, talk about the hopes of the NBA's Eastern Conference going into next season, and then find out that a Jay-Z song exists called Hyphen Hater. So who's ready for the next Memphis Bleek album?!

Episode #34: Beer Makes The World Go Round (Costarring Marcus ShowinmadLov Robinson)
I took to Twitter to defend the honor of Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly recently. I was told in no uncertain terms that the gentleman who I defended TPAB against was coming to discuss this issue at length on THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST. That gentleman happened to be Marcus ShowinmadLov Robinson, sponsor of the show through his own website themarcrob dot wordpress dot com, so I was more than happy to oblige. He brought beer. We started talking. We eventually got down to our sides of the TPAB/DAMN. argument. We delved into the Drake side of things at length. There may be long musical interludes. We spent the first hour talking about a whole list of topics. When I signed off, we had a two hour podcast. Should I break it up? NAH. We live baby. I proudly give you the Charles Barkley episode of Hyphen Nation. SC6 is a disappointment.

Episode #33: Back To Live Action
So now that I've restored some sort of order to bhyphendotcom, THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST returns. After a PSA, I talk about why awards shows matter when they really shouldn't, I discuss how I may be the softest podcast host out after how I reacted to Logan, I try to remind everyone that X2 was really, really good, and I ask if there's a point where I have to get out of the superhero film game as the cast ages out. I also make sure to keep my top hater status intact and I almost make it the entire show without mentioning a certain Mrs. Carter. I'm really enjoying this House Of Horrors match between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton.

Episode #32: Sorry, Not Sorry
I have to admit for someone who would probably be weak in the knees if I met her in person, I sure have a lot of problems with the pedestal that Beyonce puts herself on and an even bigger problem with the larger pedestal that her adoring public puts her on. With that said, I talk about her loss at the Grammys, how Moonlight was robbed of its moment by a distracted gentleman tweeting photos of Emma Stone at the Oscars, how the Academy doesn't want Denzel to be great, and why Eddie Murphy was robbed years before this. Then I discuss why I take Biggie over Pac and Sasha over Jenna. No fooling. I don't think Future's March Madness is all that great.

Episode #31: Podcasting 101
Just like Reggie Miller admitted he pushed off of Michael Jordan in the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals, THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST is full of uncalled fouls. Not really, but I do spend most of the episode detailing how I got into podcasting and the behind the scenes of the show. Then I talk a little sports before I give a verdict in the MJ v Prince argument. And I explain why this year's Royal Rumble was better than what most people thought. Outta nowhere like a RKO.

Episode #30: The Questions
Bernard King. Steph Curry. Nolan Ryan when he played for the Angels. Hyphen Nation, THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST, has reached it’s 30th episode. As promised, welcome to the first ever Q&A show, where I answer all the questions. A lot of wrestling questions but still, all the questions. Question MVPs go to Marcus, Errick, and Mike. We'll do it again real soon, I had a lot of fun with this one.

Episode #29: I’m ‘Bout To Fight Somebody
Truth time: I fell asleep at least three times while talking this episode. It was late, I didn't sleep well the night before… I'm sorry. I edited around it so it's not noticeable and y'all know how I feel about editing. It's still a great episode though of THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST, so don't get it twisted. I jump right in and I don't stop until I give some words of wisdom about Donald being inaugurated. Free Westbrook. Ed Sheeran's new song is trash.

Episode #28: Wasn’t 2016 Just A Few Minutes Ago?
This episode started out in classic Hyphen Nation style: in the car, in a random parking lot in Morgantown. I shared stories of a heavy biscuit and then I tried to justify maybe possibly forgiving Kanye West for his outrageous comments… just like I forgave a certain Hulkster. BUT THEN, the episode fast forwards to 2017! In the new year, I talk about the maturity of 20 something me v 30 something me, how having a daughter has given me a gender bias I wasn’t even aware of, whether or not I’m hurting THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST by sometimes going explicit, and I take a few minutes for Craig Sager. Hyphen Nation is the true champ that runs that camp. I need questions for Episode #30, which I plan on being the first ever mailbag episode. Tweet me, email me, message me on Facebook, text me, carrier pigeon...

Episode #27: I Do This In My Sleep
As the fantasy football playoffs arrive, I renew my vow to take next season off. I don't care, I don't care. Then I make sure everyone knows how I hate all things involving the Golden State Warriors, even Steph. I don't care, I don't care. I take the time to explain how much the word "trash" means to me in my everyday life. For example: the Kansas City Chiefs are trash. I don't care, I don't care. My struggles with giving up fast food continue, mostly because I continue to eat fast food. I rewatched Home Alone 2 for the first time since childhood and I realize it too is trash. There's some Drake stuff, some why I'm a fan of certain college teams over WVU, and I had a run-in with a beer bottle top. I might have fallen asleep during that part. I don't care, I don't care. I need questions for Episode #30, which I plan on being the first ever mailbag episode. Tweet me, email me, message me on Facebook, text me, carrier pigeon...

Episode #26: There Is No Robert Downey Jr., Only Zuul
As December brings us to the merciful end of 2016, people everywhere are making efforts at playing nice for the holidays. But not me. Well, only in one segment. I spend way more time talking about why Tim Drake is the best Robin and Damien Wayne isn't. Well, I really didn't go in on Damien. Which then brings us to Dan Slott and why he needs to be relieved of his duties on Amazing Spider-Man asap. You know... I have a little fanfiction background; give me the job. I also spend some time debating between Man Of Steel/Spider-Man 1/Cap 1/Begins/IM 1. And I created the world's best pizza... partially inebriated. I need questions for Episode #30, which I plan on being the first ever mailbag episode. Tweet me, email me, message me on Facebook, text me, carrier pigeon...

Episode #25: Elphaba, Hillary, And Kristen Chenoweth Walk Into A Bar (Costarring Nikki Cannon)
My third official guest joins me for the 25th edition of THE WORLD'S GREATEST PODCAST. While on a family trip to Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, WV, I hauled my podcast equipment with us so I could have one of my best friends/sister-in-law Nikki Cannon on the show. We discussed a variety of topics with most of them coming back to musicals (Rent, Wicked, and Idina Menzel mostly). Nikki also gave her opinions on the election since politics is her life and she weighed in on Hillary and managed to put a very positive spin on our President-Elect. I weighed in on a half a bottle of pinot grigio. The real MVP of this episode is her brother Christian, who delayed sleeping while we recorded this episode.

Episode #24: End Of The Road
After 7 seasons of constant misery, The Walking Dead may have finally worn out its welcome. Despite the Emmy worthy performance of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I'm quickly losing interest in one of my favorite shows. And speaking of losing interest, I'm completely off the ride that is Kanye West. Dehydration and sleep deprivation my left foot. I share a tale of the time I got in trouble for my next door neighbor in high school and deal a little with #BoycottHamilton and what's going on with Cyclops in the comic books. I also get really excited about Goldberg and make it clear that I'm all about that Indiana Jones life. Even if he did take his name from the dog.

Episode #23: Baz Luhrmann Is Good But He’s No Spider-Man
In this episode of THE GREATEST PODCAST IN THE WORLD, I lighten up. I share my heartbreak with how one of my favorite professional wrestlers, Dolph Ziggler, has fallen from grace (a grace that he never truly ever had). I rant about Baz Luhrmann and his stupid ability to make me fall in and out of love with a film within 120 minutes. I answer a question about why LeBron took offense to Phil’s posse comments. I explain why Spider-Man is the best. There’s nothing else that needs to be said; he’s the best. And I wrap up with some post-election talk, Dr. Strange musings, and how my dad is built to drive a car. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t talk enough about Michael Jordan.

Episode #22: Miss Me With All That
In this episode of THE GREATEST PODCAST IN THE WORLD, I give you two full hours of content. I take shots at local podcast competition. I explain how I’m probably hanging up my fantasy football cleats next season, at least for a year. I give the Chicago Cubs their 108 year late due. I detail my trip home, including my father receiving a free soda and how he’s taken over a local Applebee’s without any official ownership paperwork. I pretty much sum up how everyone feels about The Voice. I shout out some of my listeners. I relive the tragedies of losing my birth mother and my adoptive mother in October and November 2015. And I wrap up with my thoughts on the 2016 Election and the forthcoming four year reign of Donald Trump. My name is Kelen Conley and I endorse the unfriend/unfollow buttons.

Episode #21: You Look Like Carlton Banks!
On this episode of THE WORLD’S GREATEST PODCAST, I have a lot to say. I talk about CM Punk’s loss at UFC 203, finally. I share quick thoughts on Colin Kaepernick, finally. I tell the tale of the indecent proposal I got in my training class. I ask the big question: Did Mother Gothel actually love Rapunzel? I wonder if my time as a leader of #TeamDrake is coming to an end. I go into why I’m constantly tied to Carlton Banks. I relive how I ended up totaling Angel’s car. And I recommend a lot of things. Such as Atlanta. You really should be watching Atlanta. Paper Boi. Paper Boi. All about that paper boy.

Episode #20: Hey Girl, Do You Wanna Come Over And Watch RedZone?
Hyphen Nation is almost legal to drink but I’m over here popping champagne anyway! In the 20th edition of the best podcast in the world (I was wrong in the episode, this is the 31st week of the year, making me 11 episodes behind having an episode every week of 2016), I have a lot to bring to the microphone this time out. A little Russell Westbrook talk. A little Drake and Joe Budden talk. A lot of WWE talk about Battleground, Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens, July 25th’s episode of Raw, and Sasha Banks/Charlotte. A little about how the NFL is in a constant lose/lose battle with player safety and making the game of football less fun talk. A little drug test talk. And a sincere cry for help about my inability to listen to as many podcasts that are currently on my iPod. Just like The Whispers, the beat and the podcast goes on.

Episode #19: The Greatest Gifts (Costarring Eric Jordan)
In June, for the second straight season, the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers faced off for the NBA Championship. After a record breaking 73 win season, the Warriors mostly dominated the first 4 games of the series to take a 3-1 lead, heading back to Oakland for Game 5. From there, the Cavaliers were able to win 3 straight, including 2 wins in Oakland to win their first NBA Championship and the first major championship for Cleveland since 1964. Since I’ve known him, Eric Jordan has always been one of the biggest Cleveland fans I know. As soon as Game 7 was over, I knew I had to get him on the show to talk about the biggest event in Cleveland sports history. The longest episode of Hyphen Nation may be the best episode of Hyphen Nation ever. This is for you Cleveland.

Episode #18: Trade Me To The Pistons; I Can’t Beat Them
After last episode’s seriousness, I get back into the swing of the regular Hyphen Nation beat. I read about some sudden naysayers of myself and the podcast and I respond in kind. I address the tragedy of Christina Grimmie’s death. I relive an awkward conversation at work. I talk about McDonald’s again… but not how you think. Then I go in heavy on Kevin Durant, the future of my Chicago Bulls, and how I’m holding off my membership into the Minnesota Timberwolves fan club… for now. I finish things with a little WWE talk before the Battleground PPV. Still avoiding talk of the Cleveland Cavaliers. BUT IT WILL SOON HAPPEN.

Episode #17: Make Me Wanna Holler

Episode #16: Wifi Don’t Live Here Anymore
So your hero may be out here hunting for free wifi like a nomad but never fear, as Hyphen Nation 16 is… has arrived. Aside from avoiding obvious rhymes, there’s a lot to talk about in this episode. As I’m finally a homeowner, I explain all the details of our second move in a month as well as a harrowing tale of what my 10 year old chihuahua gave me as a housewarming gift. Then I share the sad story of my life with no wifi and the natural fear of extra data usage fees that comes with it. I talk a little about my new music video for “Rewind”, my performance on June 16, and the beginning stages of recording my next album. I also delve into a little UFC talk about Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, which comes after talk about the sad news of Kimbo Slice’s death and the impact Muhammad Ali had on myself and the world. Live from the third Kroger parking lot in Morgantown… you know what it is.

Episode #15: (Coffee From) The Grind Don’t Stop
Not fired from the day job yet, but definitely back with a 4th episode in 2 weeks of Hyphen Nation. In this pulse pounding slobberknocker, I get into how my most recent column motivated a friend and frequent collaborator. Then I take some time out to thank Pusha T for writing “I’m Loving It” for McDonald’s before explaining how some topic ideas I have for the show just aren’t very good. I give my take on the gorilla debate and somehow segue that into a story of an incident with a fence from my childhood. After that embarrassment, I finish things off with recommendations as well as why I no longer get excited about the X-Men films. Ya boy owns a house now so you know there’s big things poppin’ and little things stoppin’. And coffee provided by The Grind here in Morgantown.

Episode #14: Too Long; Didn’t Listen Or I Got Some McPicks For McDonald’s
It’s time for everyone to put on their best all white outfit and get out in the sun! Pools are open; the speedos are in full effect! Hustle to the mall and get you a short set! Yeah you got on sneaks but you need a new pair! Cause why? CAUSE BASKETBALL COURTS IN THE SUMMER GOT GIRLS THERE! Back to live action, Hyphen Nation 14 is all over the place. There’s a short discussion on the NBA Finals. I give out a great recommendation on a barber if you need one in Morgantown and a decent recommendation on a book. I discuss the house of horrors that is Maximum Carnage for SNES and Sega Genesis. I try to make some kind of point about Memorial Day but I don’t really go anywhere with it. I explain why I love the number 14. And then I border on a tirade about why I hate McDonald’s commercials. 2016 is almost over y’all, better start making New Year’s plans right away.

Episode #13: Lemonade Is A Popular Drink And It Still Is
Back to back episodes? What fresh new world is this? Did the comic line reboot itself? Did Marty make the wrong move back in alternate 1985? Is anything we know actually the truth or is everything a crazy shamble of a lie? Anyway, Hyphen Nation is back and there’s lemonade to be discussed. I spend a huge chunk of time explaining why I had to go Anti-Beyoncé after the release of her new album… Lemonade. What a dumb title. I’ll tell you one thing… in the episode. After that I discuss Game 5 of the NBA Western Conference Finals and tonight’s Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. I spend a little time reminiscing on my Shoe Dept. retail days and then try to explain cicadas for those of us not going through it. I even got a couple recommendations in there. So join the Anti-Beyoncé brigade (or #TeamHov), there’s only a few days left to hate Beyoncé for making music!

Episode #12: When Jessica Met Wade That One Time In Seattle
It’s raining in Morgantown again but that’s no reason not to record the next exciting episode of Hyphen Nation! Back on my solo steez, I decide to go ahead and tell the tale I was planning to write for my Jessica Jones/Deadpool series that didn’t happen at Marvel 2000 because I don’t make time for writing anymore. I take the time to address the new Captain America controversy over at the house that Stan and Jack built, then I get into a little bit of why I “no longer” buy individual issues (other than Spider-Gwen and Archie). I had a great show topic… that I forgot to write down, so instead I go with my previous topic of why these kids like all this bad music… only to realize that someone 10 years older than me when I was in my 20s probably hated my music too… yeah, I got lost too. I spend a little time discussing how important Game 5 is for Stephen Curry and the Warriors tonight and then I wrap up my recommending and reviewing Drake’s newest album Views. Always good to get some work done, even if I don’t feel like the episode is one of my best. You can always listen to the episodes with Errick again if you want...

Episode #11: Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler (Costarring Errick Greenlee)
I start the episode by myself, where I try to compare Shawn Michaels and Kanye West. Then I called Errick Greenlee on Skype, where we had a short conversation about our daughters and families off podcast, then we get down to business. But what I thought would be more fantasy booking turned into an all out discussion of Captain America: Civil War, which we both saw on its opening weekend. This episode's cover image is brought to you via Errick's favorite Captain America speech, (which he feels was delivered badly by the film) which originally appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #537 for those Spider-Man haters out there. I wouldn't call this an all-inclusive review of the film but we get to a lot of it. In case you didn't notice, this episode is full of spoilers.

Episode #10: Book To The Future – 1st LP, Side A (Costarring Errick Greenlee)
On the day after what may be remembered as one of the darkest days for many, I finally found time to have my first guest ever. Errick Greenlee is not just a son, brother, husband, father, or purveyor of all things nerd fresh. He's not just a writer or filmmaker. He's not just the king of the Lightning Round or his #GoingInRaw column for KillerBoomBox. Nor is he just one half of a dynamic t-shirt designing duo. In addition to that glistening resume, Errick Greenlee is a professional wrestling fan. And nothing was the same. So we start to fantasy book the WWE until SummerSlam and already, the ideas are flowing. Reigns, Styles, Rollins, Balor, Ziggler. Trust me, this is the phenomenal forearm of the fantasy booking; it's that over. Plus we take the time to talk about Chyna and Prince. And this is only the first edition in what I hope will be many more appearances but Mr. Greenlee. Hold on to your butts.

Episode #9: Knock On Wood
On a very special day, Hyphen Nation 9 is born into existence! Today’s topics include the 2nd birthday of my daughter Aaliyah (that’s the special day, take that smokers), my experiences as a “single” dad, why I’ve been so lazy creatively lately, the tough decision between my Android and becoming one of those iPhone users, and an update about those lifestyle changes I keep saying I’m going to make (the elephant scale at the Smithsonian Zoo wasn’t impressed). Plus: I predict the 2016 NBA Playoffs in their entirety. And I don’t care if you say it’s not fair to pick after they officially start. Besides, there are no surprises to be heard here. This episode is all about the positive vibes so check that negativity at the door. Or to Yankee Stadium.
April 22, 2016
Episode #8: I Feel Petty
In this episode, everybody gets it! And by that I mean that I talk about how I hold grudges (I was taught by the best) and how it feels when Seinfeld loses his Newman (it feels pretty great). I also spend some time talking about being just one of the girls (people like talking to me. It's a gift and a curse) and how I became enshrined in the Mario Kart Wii Hall of Fame (it's a real thing. You can totally look it up. You'll see a picture of my victims sad faces next to my name). I wrap things up by talking about how Steph Curry is having his moment and how I no longer lust after Little Caesar's bacon wrapped pizza. I may also be muttering under my breath at times. It was a rough week.

Episode #7: Welcome To The Disney Movie Review Podcast
You take one day off and life gets in the way. So what do you do? You wait until the next opportunity presents itself and you keep the podcast train on the tracks! Enclosed within these audio walls, I question whether I'm a bad husband, I talk about Aladdin and the Little Mermaid and my differing opinions on both (Welcome to the Disney movie review podcast!), this episode's cover girl Ronda Rousey's confession to considering suicide after she lost to Holly Holm, and getting better at writing (faster) through repetition. This episode was recorded at not just one but two Morgantown Krogers before and after a dentist appointment. Your man of the people has come back.
February 26, 2016
Episode #6: The Case of the Stale Fudge Rounds & Cherry Pop-Tarts
So with the professional footballs officially put away for another season, it's time for Hyphen Nation to blossom into its final and best form! Or something like that. Contained within these audio walls, I discuss why the day after the Super Bowl should be some kind of national holiday, I compare my experiences with the OJ Simpson trial as a child with what I know today, the story of gas station snacks that spawned this episode's title, my eternal struggle with never being able to catch up on all the podcasts I like, and I end things with a small tribute to the retiring Daniel Bryan. It's still snowing in Morgantown so if you live in a warm climate, I hate you. But I'd still like you to check out this episode. And pass it along like a note in class. I don't really care if the teacher sees it.
February 13, 2016
Episode #5: Predicting The 2015 NFL Playoffs: Super Bowl 50
The 50th edition of the Super Bowl is two days away. Panthers. Broncos. I make the final pick that can make or break my 2015 NFL playoff season. A win puts me above .500; a loss, under .500. More importantly, can Peyton win his second ring and tie Eli? Will he retire on top or head to LA next season? Can Cam silence his critics, at least for awhile? I'm really pumped about this game. Also in this show (because I couldn't do a 20 minute show just about the Super Bowl): Understanding what I like to eat, whether or not I'm scared of success, my candy addiction, and Go Demarcus and viral video in 2016. Recommendations: New Girl season 5, Carly Rae Jepsen - E·MO·TION, The People v. OJ Simpson, The Internet - Ego Death.
February 6, 2016
Episode #4: There Will Be No Sportball Talk Within
I take a break with the NFL and leave the predictions in my other pants pocket. In the first regular episode of Hyphen Nation, I spend time talking about how terrible I am at dealing with change, how I'm trying to use Snapchat more but Android's version won't let me be great, how I finally get Seinfeld after 32 years, and I discuss where the real problem with Frozen lies. Because I watch Frozen all... the.. time.
January 30, 2016
Episode #3: Predicting The 2015 NFL Playoffs: Championship Round
We’re down to the final four teams in the hunt for Super Bowl 50 and I recap what happened in the Divisional Round (I went 4-0, making me 5-3 this postseason) and pick the two teams that’ll be headed to San Francisco in February. I also spend a lot of time getting distracted by all the people flying into the Kroger parking lot in search of bread and milk in preparation for Winter Storm Jonas. Considering this was the second time I recorded this episode after a headphone/microphone jack mix up the other day, it’s only right I get to watch the crazies fly in and out of the parking lot while the show rolls on. Manning v. Brady. Cam v. Palmer. On v. On. Bye v. Bye. Kathy Bates. TV networks must hate me. The not-quite Hyphen Nation podcast. All of these things are discussed in this action packed third episode. Did I mention I actually recorded this episode once? I was once told everything happens for a reason, so this reality’s Episode 3 must be better than the other Episode 3 you were going to end up with. Let’s go with that one. Only one more sportball episode to go after this one non-sports fan listeners!
January 23, 2016
Episode #2: Predicting The 2015 NFL Playoffs: Divisional Round
The NFL Playoffs are rolling along and so is Hyphen Nation! I went 1-3 during the opening round, and it's not looking much better for this weekend as I picked all the home teams. I doubt I start the Championship Round at 5-3 but crazier miracles could happen. I also spend some time talking about other things besides sportball, so I encourage non sports fans to check out this episode as well. There's lot of updates on my current projects and the future plans for the show and my latest plan to be healthier. I told you this is more than just a sports podcast. There's also a few errors, so a certified No-Prize to anyone who catches them!
January 16, 2016
Episode #1: Predicting the 2015 NFL Playoffs: Wild Card Round
This is not a test. This is the actual real live Episode #1 of Hyphen Nation. There may have been an episode called the 25 Biggie Commandments floating around in March but ignore that (it’s Victory Jumpoff Radio #14 if you must know). This is the real deal. No clones. Not a dream. Not a hoax. The 2015 NFL Playoffs are upon us, the Wild Card round to be exact. I take a shot at predicting all 4 Wild Card games… and maybe even predict a sleeper Super Bowl winner. It’s all live from the car on a 45 minute lunch break. That’s how dedicated I am to the people. Gave up my lunch break… to give you the first episode of Hyphen Nation. Don’t let it be for nothing.
