It's all happening! In this much delayed episode Breen, Hammond & Mercer are accompanied by the extremely pleasant Alex Evans! He tells the group how his cinematic journey began, what he loves about film and what he gets up to day by day at Picturehouse Cinemas. The gang talk about the (now not so recent) exhibition headlines, choose their worst/best onscreen villains and pick apart two fresh turkeys Hammond unleashed upon them - 'The United States vs. Billie Holiday' and 'Without Remorse'. *Shudder* #spoileralert 

In this fresh audio delight, the abstract pod artists known as Breen, Hammond & Mercer are accompanied by the super lovely Stuart Holdsworth! He chats to them about all things art & film and how he started the fantastic 'Inspiring City' art blog. They find hidden meaning in the latest exhibition headlines, choose their top onscreen musicians and pass judgement on two brand new features - 'The Mauritanian' and 'Sound Of Metal'.

In this new instalment of HYST, The Fellowship Of Breen, Hammond & Mercer are joined by the mighty wizard Jon Perry! He talks to the team about what he gets up to as Head Of Operations at Picturehouse Cinemas, where his love of film began and how he got into collecting vintage film posters. They also stare directly into The Eye of Sauron to discuss what evils lurk in the latest film news, choose their favourite comedies with a sci-fi twist and unpack some fresh opinions on two more movies - 'Concrete Cowboy' and 'Palm Springs'.

In this fresh slice of film fun the crew of the good ship 'HMS Scene This' keep proceedings well under 90 minutes as they have cap Sam Clements of the 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest podcast on board to keep things trim. They have a good ol' natter with him about films of all lengths but especially features under the 1 hour and a half mark which is the focus of Sam's excellent podcast. 

As is custom the latest film happenings are discussed including 'Godzilla Vs Kong's overseas box office triumph, Curzon cinemas radical reopening plan for 'vaccine only screenings' & Disney pushing 'Black Widow' onto Disney +.  

The gang also go below deck to pick their fave movies with a short runtime and unleash some fresh opinions on 'Creation Stories' & the Oscar winning doc 'American Factory'. 

In the latest episode the crew chat to the mighty Clare Binns (Joint Managing Director of Picturehouse Cinemas) about her early days at Ritzy Cinema, where her love of film began, the impact of Covid on the industry and what she gets up to day to day as MD.

Mercer takes a dive into the film headlines including 'Raya And The Last Dragon's' moderate Box Office Success, the 2021 Oscar nominations and Cineworld's new deal with Warner Bros. As is customary, two new films get the guys critical judgement 'Coming 2 America' and 'The White Tiger'.

Finally, the team pick their fave 'rags-to-riches' movies and decide which franchise films are the ones which 'jump the shark'.

For the latest HYST joint the HAMMONDLESS (gasp!) group are joined by regular contributor Tristian Cooper (Film Buyer) as co-host and chat to the super lovely Laura Jean Marsh about her love of film, acting, writing, directing and doing a combination of all the above for her new film 'Giddy Stratospheres'.

Despite the new line up the episode is filled with the usual waffle - the team pick apart the film headlines (which include the new streaming kid on the block - Paramount+, an opening date for UK cinemas and 'Nomadland' heading straight to Disney+), they pick their fave journalism related film/tv show, pitch their own pandemic related features and of course review two brand new films - '76 Days' and 'News Of The World'. For this hot new slice of pod action we talk film distribution and buying with our charming guest Paul Sweeney. Sweeney is a dab hand at the industry having worked for the likes of Cineworld, VUE and now works freelance for his own Ad Hoc Consultancy company. We have a good natter with him about his route into the world of film exhibition and run through a load of hot cinematic topics. As is the norm we review two new(ish) films 'The Dig' and 'The Lie'

We also discuss Disney Plus' overnight streaming success, 'Black Widow' being delayed again, pick our fave Ralph Fiennes performances and decide which film the end of the world should most resemble!

During this episode the HYST team take a deep dive into the world of special effects with our guest Conor O'Mara who is a VFX wiz and has worked on a LOAD of film & TV including Dark, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Jumanji: The Next Level, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and many more. 

They also tackle two new features for review - the rather gruesome 'The Call' [Netflix 2020] and the equally grizzly 'The Rental' [Amazon Prime 2020]. 

Finally, they settle which single location film or TV episode is TOP TRUMPS, get to grips with Kristen Stewart actually looking like Princess Diana and, reeling from the recent news of a 'Risk' board game movie, decide which game should be adapted into a film or TV series.

Luckily to lend them a welcome hand the team are joined by yet another industry vet/legend, the very lovely and articulate Andrew Turner. Andrew (who dialled into the pod all the way from Helsinki!) has been working in cinema for 30+ years for the likes of ODEON, Cineworld & 20th Century Fox to name a few. 

The gang have a good natter with him about all things film buying and distribution, talk about ANOTHER delay for 'No Time To Die', celebrate the news 'Godzilla Vs Kong' is being released sooner, pick their FAVE one shot takes from film & TV and lament the Academy for always getting the Oscars wrong.

New year, new you...same pod!? For the first ep of 2021 the 'Have You Scene This?' team bring you a special treat for these times of lockdown woe! A New Years Special*! 

In this New Years Special* episode Hammond, Breen & Mercer are joined by the highly knowledgeable Hamish Moseley who is managing director at the awesome Altitude Films. They have a good ol' chat with him about his role, the impact of the pandemic and take an exciting look at the upcoming film slate for Altitude. As is now standard, we hear the guys opinions on two films - the Obama produced doc 'Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution' [Netflix 2020] and the Oscar baiting 'Hillbilly Elegy' [Netflix 2020]. 

Hammond, Mercer and Breen are joined by the delightful Tristian Cooper who is not only a thoroughly top bloke but is also a friend of the show and currently works as film programmer for Cineworld! As well as chatting to him about all things film booking related, we swear up a storm about Warner Bros' 2021 release plans 😭, review 'His House' and 'Lucky', discuss our FAVE onscreen ghouls and pick apart some genius/not-so-genius recasting choices after an original actor has had to walk away from a role.

On episode five Hammond, Breen and Mercer of house Hufflepuff are joined by the hilarious Miles Crawford who is a comedian, actor and presenter, and can currently be heard weekly on the 'Miles Crawford Show' on London Soul Radio. They chat to him about all things music and film.

The group pick through the tatters of the US box office, lay down their verdicts on The 40-Year-Old Version (Netflix) 2020 and Small Axe: Mangrove (BBC) 2020, give the definitive list of best on-screen performances by musicians turned actors, pick the films they would actually like to see being remade (NOT Short Circuit) and Breen admits a love for a certain Christmas 'classic' that receives mixed reactions from the group!

In this episode of HYST the team are very excited to be joined by David Smith who is a writer, director, cinematographer and has just released his first feature film “Bear” which is available now on Amazon Prime.

The gang review The Personal History Of David Copperfield (Lionsgate, Film4, Amazon) 2019 and The Trial Of The Chicago 7 (Netflix) 2020.

They also discuss Bond streaming rumours, the UK box office, buying a cinema chain, their favourite courtroom set films and the character they would most love to see brought back to the big screen for a new film (apart from Jamie Foxx's  'Electro' of course! #4reals).

In this episode the HYST team are joined by Brad James from Lyceum Entertainment. He is a writer, director, composer, cinematographer and has self distributed the first major project from his company Lyceum Entertainment “Infamous” straight to Amazon Prime.
